00:04not be signing players because they're waiting to find out if they're going to get Hendrickson
00:08and, you know, that might be a gamble.
00:11You might lose out on other players and who knows if that's ultimately happening.
00:13But the more time goes by and the more contracts that got handed out to some depth players,
00:19you know, maybe it's out of the Bills price range, but I'm starting to believe that that
00:23is in fact what's happening is that they are chasing Hendrickson and that's the first piece
00:27and the rest of it kind of has to fall in from there.
00:31It's been fascinating to try to figure out what the Bills' approach is right now,
00:36and I do think that they need to find value.
00:39Obviously, this team has a ton of needs, more needs than I can remember in a long time,
00:43and they're not like brimming with resources.
00:45They have the opportunity to, I think, find $30 or $40 million of functional cap space to use,
00:51and if I'm Brandon Bean, I would certainly use it to try to help this roster that needs a lot,
00:56especially on defense.
00:59And if they're waiting on Hendrickson, like that's interesting for sure.
01:04But where I struggle with that is you don't just need a pass rusher.
01:10You need a pass rusher, but you need a linebacker, a safety.
01:13You need more D-line depth.
01:15You need, I mean, so many other things.
01:19Does it make sense to commit a huge chunk of money to Hendrickson and try to get by everywhere else,
01:24or would you like to find reasonable solutions at all the positions that you need help?
01:29And there have been a lot of deals that have been done or agreed to terms to that I think
01:34Brandon Bean should have done.
01:35And it's passing him by in some ways, and I'm trying to be patient.
01:39And obviously, the league year starts today.
01:41There's a lot of time that is still available to fix things and get some answers in the building.
01:48But it feels like a lot of the logical paths have passed him by, and I'm really curious to see
01:54where he goes.
01:55And I do wonder about that opportunity cost of just Hendrickson or reasonable answers at a lot of other needs.
