00:00Here's another NBA story for you. This one, unfortunately, is one that I have to be very
00:04sensitive about, because it bothers me to my core, and it's everything wrong with sports today.
00:10But as you may have heard yesterday afternoon, the NBA's woke police decided to wake up,
00:16and they went to their DEI director, and they said, you know what? Luke Cornett's right.
00:22We can't possibly have an event that's sponsored by a strip club, because it's degrading to women,
00:29and it's misogynistic, and it objectifies gals for how they look. So as you see the statement
00:35right there, the NBA stepped in, and they have now canceled the Atlanta Hawks promotion with
00:42Magic City, a well-known adult entertainment club. Been around for 50 years. It's like
00:47Mons Venus in Tampa. It is a legendary club that also, in addition to having beautiful women
00:52dancing on poles, happened to have world-class chicken wings, specifically lemon pepper chicken
00:59wings. And they had this whole thing planned for Atlanta when the Magic are coming into town.
01:04It's a Magic City night, and they were going to sell a bunch of merch that, I've seen the merch.
01:08Yeah, it's cool merch.
01:09It was just words.
01:09Yeah.
01:10You know, Magic City, there were no pictures of girls on poles or anything like that.
01:14And I found it interesting, and if you could leave that up there, please, the NBA's statement
01:20there, which is about how they've heard significant concerns from various places within the league.
01:29League stakeholders, fans, partners, and employees.
01:34Yeah.
01:34Okay?
01:35Now, the only player that we heard speak publicly about was Luke Cornett, but it's certainly a
01:39possibility that female employees of the NBA in New York, or the NBA with the Atlanta Hawks,
01:45or whatever it might be, might have been offended by that.
01:48Maybe, but I don't think so.
01:50Because it begs the question.
01:52It begs the question about teams that employ cheerleaders.
01:58Some of them are called dancers, like the New York Knicks, have the Knicks City dancers.
02:02Sixers have dancers.
02:03Sixers have female dancers.
02:05And it begs the question, where does the woke police stop now?
02:10If we're going to cancel an innocent promotion because the bar that owns the promotion and
02:17is going to be serving the wings employs scantily clad naked women to dance as adult entertainers,
02:23then are we going to get rid of Knicks City dancers?
02:26Are the Sixers now going to say, sorry, gals, we can't employ you anymore to dance and entertain
02:31us because the NBA finds that too objectifying of your physical traits?
02:37And they'll take you one step further.
02:39If we are concerned about things that either the stakeholders, the fans, the players, and
02:47the employees of all the NBA teams out there, all 30 teams, or the league executive office
02:53might be troubled by or might be troubling to some people, might be hurtful to some people,
03:01I have to ask the obvious question, when is the NBA going to denounce gambling on the
03:07NBA?
03:08When are they going to break away from their partnership that they have with multiple
03:12gambling sites?
03:14Because if we're now going to overreact to what one player said, Luke Cornett, and what
03:20allegedly a number of employees of the NBA, either individual teams or the league office
03:27itself, and he never quantified that, but if we are to believe that the NBA is now overreacting
03:34to the complaints of a few, where does that end?
03:38Because I think you just opened up Pandora's box.
03:40They did.
03:41In fact, while I don't think it was woke, I think it was just stupid, I think you also
03:46have to deal...
03:46Most woke things are stupid, so I'm with you.
03:48I don't think so.
03:48We already talked about you saying woke, but Miles Bridges is a felon from beating a woman.
03:54That's correct.
03:55He's a felon.
03:56Now, he played it down to a charge, but it was still a felon for beating a woman.
04:00Did Luke Cornett complain about that at all?
04:02Didn't complain about that, and neither did the league.
04:04So, going forward, because I don't give a damn about a Miles Bridges, because once you
04:07beat a woman, I'm done with you.
04:09Peace out.
04:09But he should be out of the league, right?
04:11According to the league's statement.
04:12I mean, he's on the Charlotte Hornets, a hot team.
04:14They've been doing better, hot young team.
04:15They're actually a playing team right now.
04:16Yeah, yeah, a playing team and all that stuff, right?
04:18You're going to get, since he's literally a convicted felon for beating his child's mother, we're
04:24going to get him out of the league, right?
04:25You would think Luke Cornett would be upset about sharing a court with him.
04:28You would think.
04:29Since he doesn't want to be in the gymnasium when we're selling wings and promoting merch
04:34that says Magic City on it, because while it won't happen in the arena, when people go
04:39back to that establishment, there'll be naked women there.
04:42Right.
04:42That's problematic.
04:43But beating a woman, not that big a deal, according to some.
