00:00In China, the political meeting known as the two sessions took place in Beijing,
00:05bringing together thousands of delegates from across the country
00:07to define growth goals and social policies for the coming years.
00:11Our correspondent Bruno Falsi was there and brings us this report.
00:15In Beijing, in the Great Hall of the People, the two sessions are taking place
00:21as China's most important annual political meetings,
00:25where the main economic and social policies of the new five-year plan are being defined.
00:32These meetings reflect the concerns and priorities of the population,
00:37from the well-being of the communities to the preservation of culture and social equities.
00:44The government report is full of achievements, conveys a lot of confidence and also great determination.
00:50I think it's a very good report.
00:52In my opinion, issues related to the well-being of the people are very prominent.
00:56Everything is geared toward benefiting ordinary people,
00:59and the government has done a lot in that regard.
01:01Furthermore, state attention, support and investment in western regions
01:05and ethnic minority areas are steadily increasing.
01:09During the sessions, topics such as employment, education, health, social protection,
01:16technological innovation, and environmental sustainability are being discussed,
01:23reflecting the country's strategic priorities.
01:27These discussions show how socialism with Chinese characteristics
01:31seeks balanced development, combining economic growth, social welfare, and technological modernization.
01:40We continue to implement the traditional model of organic farming,
01:44which provides a solid foundation for sustainable agricultural practices.
01:47In China, among the 188 agricultural development programs,
01:51many include integrated systems of agriculture, forestry, and animal husbandry.
01:56By promoting the forestry economy and organic farming,
01:59these traditional models offer valuable reference.
02:01In regions like the Hani terraces,
02:04these systems combine forests, villages, crops, and water resources,
02:08forming a comprehensive model of sustainable development.
02:11Nearly 3,000 delegates from the National People's Congress
02:16and more than 2,000 members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference
02:22are participating, representing all the country's 56 ethnic groups.
02:29These institutions reflect China's model of participatory democracy,
02:35allowing different regions and sectors to contribute to national planning
02:41under the leadership of the Communist Party.
02:45This growth target is based on an objective assessment of the national and international situation,
02:51with the aim of achieving relatively stable growth.
02:54Setting this target does not mean that the economy must remain rigidly at that level,
02:58but rather that it should progress steadily.
03:00Agriculture must remain strong,
03:02and industry needs further strengthening,
03:04while reforms, modernization,
03:06and the use of tools like government bonds to boost development continue.
03:18While the world's largest Western economies,
03:22following neoliberal models,
03:24face slowdowns and employment crisis,
03:27China's economic planning model
03:30project stable growth of 4,5% to 5%,
03:35alongside the creation of over 12 million new urban jobs annually.
