00:05for an official state visit in which represents a key moment for global politics.

00:15These are the days when the eyes of the world are fixed here in Beijing,
00:21where United States President Donald Trump is beginning his state visit to China today.
00:27From May 13 to 15, at the invitation of the Chinese President Xi Jinping,
00:34he is expected to hold talks on trade, energy, strategic stability, Iran and the province of Taiwan.
00:43The visit was initially scheduled to March 31 to April 2,
00:48but was postponed following the war against Iran on February 28.
00:54Trump's previous trip to Beijing took place in 2017, while his last meeting with Xi Jinping
01:02was held in Busan on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in October.
01:09The two leaders are expected to meet in May 14 and 10 a.m. local time.
01:15No media events have been officially announced so far.
01:20Trump is also expected to raise issues related to the province of Taiwan and Iran,
01:27although Washington has not clarified the future of arms shifting to the island.
01:34Beijing, meanwhile, described the Taiwan question as the first red line in bilateral relations
01:42and expressed the willingness to facilitate dialogue on Iran despite recent United States sanctions.
01:51According to U.S. media reports, the talks are also expected to cover trade, energy, strategic weapons, artificial intelligence,
02:01and also cooperation on rare earth metals that would be addressed,
02:06including discussions on possibility extension of existing arrangements.
02:12The Chinese Foreign Ministry confirmed that the leaders will hold in-depth talks on bilateral and global issues,
02:21with a focus on economic cooperation.
02:24The United States media report also suggests a possible increase in Chinese purchases of American energy products.
02:33The two leaders are also expected to address broader issues of global stability and development.
