00:02A coin that was once used to pay a bus fare in Leeds has been confirmed by researchers
00:07to have been created by an ancient civilization more than 2,000 years ago. The rare coin came
00:14into the possession of James Edwards in the 1950s when he worked as chief cashier for the
00:19Leeds Transport Company and collected fares from bus and tram drivers. Setting aside any
00:25foreign or counterfeit coins, he would give them to his young grandson, Peter, who carefully
00:31kept them for more than 70 years. Curious about its origin, Peter traced the coin's history
00:36and discovered it was made in the Spanish city of Cadiz during the 1st century BC.
