00:05ahead of the original schedule in April, to help Malaysians prepare for Ramadan and Eid al-Fitri,
00:11Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced today.
00:14Anwar also urged the public to spend wisely considering the geopolitical uncertainties
00:19in the Middle East, which he said could affect the global economy.
00:22He said disruptions to key shipping routes, such as the Strait of Hormuz or the Red Sea,
00:27could impact the delivery of oil, gas, and essential goods worldwide.
00:31He added that while Malaysia remains relatively stable compared with many other countries,
00:37the pressure is still felt.
00:39Phase 2 of STR involves a total allocation of around 3 billion ringgit for approximately 5 million recipients.
00:46He said the 2026 special financial aid of 500 ringgit would be paid to civil servants in grade 15 and
00:52below on March 13,
00:53while government retirees and veterans would receive 250 ringgit.
00:58The government will also distribute 500 ringgit in special aid to around 70,000 individuals in religious institutions,
01:05including imams, as well as al-Quran and fardu'in teachers, on March 13.
