00:00In a move that future scholars probably won't call a PR masterstroke,
00:04Epic CEO Tim Sweeney has come out swinging against a ban on X, formerly Twitter.
00:10Which might not sound so bad until you consider that people are only calling for a ban because
00:16X's AI grok keeps generating deepfake nude imagery of minors.
00:22But Sweeney says calls for a ban are just politicians making incessant demands
00:27to all gatekeepers to censor all of their political opponents.
00:31Sweeney says all AIs go off the rails sometimes, but AI companies always try their best to stop it.
00:38X's response to the deepfake crisis by the way was to partially move the ability to generate
00:43pornographic content behind a paywall.
00:46I can't say that defending X would be my first choice when it comes to how to spend a weekend,
00:51but I guess I'm not a billionaire like Sweeney.
