00:01Welcome to Friday, everybody.
00:04Friday!
00:05Now, for Americans, it typically means trying to find a way to go out, cut loose, blow off
00:11some steam after a long work week.
00:14But in Sweden, it is just the opposite.
00:17What?
00:18Huh?
00:19Yeah.
00:19That concept is starting to catch on over here now, too.
00:23They call it...
00:25I've practiced this a couple times.
00:27Hang on a second.
00:27You can do it.
00:28You gotta silence it.
00:29Yep.
00:30Fred-ix-miss.
00:32Excuse me?
00:33Fred-ix-miss.
00:34Okay?
00:35Okay.
00:35It's like Christmas, but it's Fred-ix-miss.
00:38It is exactly what I thought it was.
00:39Yeah.
00:39And it translates to cozy Friday.
00:42So there is a psychiatrist in Virginia named Dr. Tina Thomas who says this is going to be
00:49a welcome shift for Americans because in Western society, we often think of Friday as the day
00:55to just make the plans, go all out, go crazy, and try to burn off everything that we had pent
01:02up over the week.
01:03But in Sweden, they do the opposite.
01:06They do their cozy Fridays where they snuggle down, they order in, they light candles, they
01:12watch movies, and they rest so that they can then go out on Friday.
01:18Saturday, or I mean on Saturday, right?
01:21Wow.
01:21I like this idea a lot.
01:22But it's like, it's a way of like, okay, I just had this long, chaotic week.
01:28Rather than keep that tension up and go out, I'm going to relax.
01:33And they said that it's so much better for your mental well-being.
01:36You know, it's interesting because I think, Andy, you and I have talked about this in the
01:39past.
01:40I think you and I are both pro, if I'm going to do something over the weekend.
01:44It's Saturday.
01:46Oh, really?
01:47Oh, no.
01:47Oh, I definitely want to do things on Saturday night.
01:49Oh, I prefer to roll it over and be stressed all day and knock it out, and then I have
01:54two full 24-hour days of rest.
01:58Yeah, I think my problem is that like on Fridays, I'm burnt out from the week, and then it takes
02:04me so much longer to figure out what I'm going to wear.
02:07So this way, I could just go to bed Friday night and wake up Saturday, and I have all day
02:11to decide what I'm going to wear when I go out Saturday night.
02:13Right.
02:14I mean, that is a good point.
02:15And then you still have Sunday to reset and rest.
02:18Yeah.
02:18And that's, I mean, that's a good idea.
02:21Yeah.
02:21I like that.
02:22You know, we started actually, instead of driving to go see my folks who live three hours
02:26away on a Friday after work, after my wife gets off at 4.30, we would just leave on Saturday
02:32morning.
02:33So then we are kind of enacting this chill Friday night.
02:36You are.
02:36We take our time to pack.
02:38Like, then we get a good night's sleep, and we wake up in the morning, and we get in the
02:40car nice and early.
02:41Cozy Friday.
02:42Because honestly, then you totally reset for Saturday.
02:45Right.
02:45You've got more energy on Saturday.
02:47Your body likes it better.
02:49Right?
02:50It reduces anxiety.
02:52Your stress hormone cortisol, it can reduce that.
02:56Right.
02:56Which we don't want, because it makes us fat.
02:58Yep.
02:59And it helps your immune system.
03:01Mm.
03:01Cortisol makes belly fat, y'all.
03:04Oh, no.
03:04We don't want that.
03:05It comes out in your tears, though, so crying is a good thing.
03:08Oh, that's good to know.
03:09These are things I learned as an emotional person.
03:11Hot take.
03:11Instead of just cozy Fridays, we do cozy Fridays, cozy Saturdays, and cozy Sundays, and we just
03:16don't leave the house.
03:17Thoughts?
03:18Thoughts?
03:18Thoughts?
03:19That's my life.
03:20I can do that.
03:20That's my life.
03:21I can do that.
03:25You
