00:00Breaking news coming in. JDO sources have said that no decision has yet been made on the next
00:05Chief Minister in Bihar. A decision that is unlikely before the next month is what is being
00:10said. Chief Minister's post will only become vacant after the 10th of April is the clarity
00:15that is coming in as the current Rajasabha MP from Bihar's term ends on the 9th of April.
00:21JDO chief is expected to be sworn in as Rajasabha member after the 10th of April.
00:26This according to sources as Nithish Kumar will maintain his political base in Patna and
00:32will only visit Delhi during parliament sessions. There has been no discussion yet regarding
00:38Nithish Kumar's inclusion in the union cabinet is what is coming in from sources within the
00:45JDO. So with regards to what it looked like especially with Amit Shah's presence in Patna
00:51yesterday and key meetings that were happening back to back were that the decision on the
00:57next Chief Minister in Bihar will be taken soon and could be announced in as soon as two
01:01to three days. Seems highly unlikely as JDO sources say that no decision has been made on
01:07this yet as far as the next Chief Minister of Bihar is concerned. And they are saying
01:11that it is unlikely that a decision will come before the next month. Chief Minister's post
01:17will only become vacant after the 10th of April is what sources within the JDO say as
01:22the current Rajasabha MP from Bihar's term ends on the 9th of April. JDO chief that is
01:29Nithish Kumar who is expected to be sworn in as Rajasabha member after the 10th of April.
01:34And according to sources, Nithish Kumar will maintain his political base in Patna and will
01:39only visit Delhi during parliament sessions. Let me take this to my colleague Rohit Singh joining
01:43us on the broadcast. Rohit, with the sort of meetings that were happening yesterday,
01:47seemed quite likely that in the next two to three days, an announcement could come in
01:51to who will be the next Chief Minister. But with the delay in this decision, why so?
01:56What more are you picking up from your sources?
01:59See, basically the delay has been happening because of the elections that are going to take
02:05place for the Rajasabha in Bihar on 16th. Because remember, there are five seats for which election
02:10is going to take place. But after yesterday, we saw that RJD also gave a candidate for the
02:17election. So they are now six candidates in fray for five seats. So now an election is inevitable.
02:23So elections will be taking place. Voting will be taking place on 16th. And in all 30, Nithish Kumar,
02:28Nithish Kumar, Nithish Kumar, they all will be going to the Rajasabha. So till 16th, it seems
02:34that until the final results come out, the delay is happening because of that. And after the parliament
02:40session is over, what we are learning is that the change of government, the change of power
02:47will take place in Bihar. And 10th of April is the date. What we are learning is that once
02:53Nithish Kumar takes oath as the member of the Rajasabha, then after that only a power transfer
03:00will take place. Back to you.
03:03All right, Rohit Mehdi, thanks for getting us those details. While it did seem like a decision could be
03:08made in as soon as two to three days, certainly a delay on that front that has clearly happened.
03:14And the reason for it is being said as how Chief Minister's force will become vacant only after the
03:2010th of April as the current Rajasabha MP from Bihar's term ends on the 9th of April.
