00:00Hi I'm Liz Langdale and I've just parked my car at the Port Macquarie Base
00:05Hospital. What I'm hearing from people is that it's very difficult to find
00:11parking at the hospital and they're having to walk quite a long way to get
00:17to the main entrance so I thought I'd start walking from where I parked my car
00:22and see how long it takes me to get to the main entrance and just see how
00:28difficult this walk might be for people when they're having to arrive at midday.
00:34I met an elderly man who's 92 years old and he was struggling to find his car so
00:43we actually got in my car and then drove around looking for his car. Thankfully
00:49he actually found it but he was using a walker and obviously on a very hot day
00:58like today it's not ideal losing your car and trying to find it when there's so
01:06many other cars about in very hot weather. So I'm just making my way up to the main
01:15entrance now. It was a very hot day I should be wearing a hat.
01:33And I'm a pretty able-bodied person but for someone who has mobility issues and has to
01:40walk up a reasonably steep hill at the hospital this would be quite a challenging walk I imagine.
01:53Lots of cars going past looking for car parks close to the entrance. When I came down here close
01:59to 12pm all the car parks close to the main entrance were full and obviously there's some
02:06already designated for patients who really require it such as dialysis patients close to the main entrance.
02:17So I would say this is quite a busy time to try and get car parking at the hospital. There's
02:23plenty of car
02:24parks further away from the main entrance but if you're looking at a car park close to the main entrance
02:31say it's quite quite a hard time to find one.
02:41There's a bus going past me now so there are regular buses that go past the main entrance.
03:01So I'm just outside the main entrance now. That took me about three minutes from where my car
03:08was parked. It wasn't parked all the way down the bottom but it was not right near the main entrance.
03:18So I just thought I'd take you for a bit of a walk through and show you my experience.
