00:07County Hall in order to ease pressures for patients and visitors. Local politicians had
00:13warned that a shortage of spaces meant that some patients missed vital appointments while
00:18cars left in nearby streets caused disruption. County Durham and Darlington NHS Trust say
00:24staff will be encouraged to use the new spaces to free up hospital parking for visitor use.
00:28Trust Chief Executive Steve Russell thanked partners and said clear signage will provide
00:34guidance to staff. A review of parking demand will take place in November with discussions
00:40ongoing in order to decide upon long-term solutions.
