00:00It's time to play the music! It's time to light the lights!
00:04Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at movies and shows you missed in February 2026,
00:10as well as upcoming March releases you won't want to miss.
00:13Check out last month's video to see our February must-watch picks as well.
00:16Who on earth is going to sign up for this?
00:19Number 5. Myst, 2026 Oscar-nominated short films.
00:24It's a shame that even the most diehard award enthusiasts
00:27tend to sleep on the Oscar-nominated shorts every year.
00:30Well, we all know why we're here.
00:32For 2026, Roadside Attractions teamed with Taika Waititi
00:36to bring all 15 shorts to the silver screen.
00:38The animation category offers a mix of styles from stop-motion to CG
00:42to hand-drawn to hand-painted.
00:53The live-action nominees have it all.
00:56Comedy, drama, period dramas that are actually period comedy,
01:00and period isn't what you think.
01:02Will you do me the ola of blood?
01:12Naturally, the documentary shorts are the heaviest,
01:15exploring school shootings, medical care,
01:18the dangerous side of journalism, and more.
01:20There's an entire world of short filmmaking waiting to be discovered,
01:23and this year's crop of nominees is a great place for newcomers to get their feet wet.
01:28It's always the story that gives something its value.
01:31Number 5. Won't Miss, Jury Duty Presents, Company Retreat.
01:35Jury Duty was among the most pleasant surprises of 2023,
01:39mixing elements of a reality show, prank show, and mockumentary sitcom.
01:43It's been an interesting day.
01:48Did you buy or rent Sonic?
01:51I signed Hulu.
01:53It's a bummer.
01:54If you would've bought it, I would've got a dollar.
01:56With the first season being so unique,
01:59we weren't sure how a second season could replicate the formula while still being fresh.
02:03I'm basically here to do whatever they need me to do.
02:05We'll find out in Company Retreat,
02:08a successor season that will feature 14 cast members from comedy backgrounds
02:12and one unsuspecting newcomer named Anthony.
02:14Similar to Ronald in the first season,
02:17Anthony is hired at a family-owned hot sauce business.
02:20What Anthony doesn't realize is that the company is fake
02:23and the people he's interacting with are all actors.
02:25Someone has filed an anonymous complaint with HR.
02:29I anonymously made the complaint.
02:31It's not anonymous.
02:32Okay.
02:33It sounds like jury duty,
02:35but Company Retreat has the potential to be something completely different.
02:38I realize I feel like I'm on a TV show,
02:41but this is not something that you can just make up.
02:44Number 4.
02:44Missed.
02:4556 Days.
02:46For every child star who outgrows their Disney Channel roots,
02:50there eventually comes a project that asserts they are not a kid anymore.
02:53Oh.
02:54Sorry.
02:57Are you in line?
03:00No.
03:07I got the wrong drink.
03:08For Descendants alumna Dove Cameron,
03:1156 Days is the most risque role of her career thus far.
03:14In this adaptation of Katherine Ryan Howard's novel,
03:17Cameron's Sierra stars opposite Avin Jogi as Oliver.
03:20I saw him for you too fast.
03:23Oh, yes.
03:25You are.
03:29And I'm gonna get you.
03:32Hmm.
03:34Not if I get you first.
03:36Their casual first encounter at a grocery store leads to passionate lovemaking,
03:40which leads to a dead body in the bathtub.
03:42A few other things happen in between.
03:44The authorities aim to fill in the gaps,
03:47slowly unraveling this soapy and steamy mystery.
03:50What if we're wrong about the revenge motive?
03:52The charismatic leads keep us guessing every step of the way,
03:55as we go back and forth on who is more likely to be a murderer.
03:59How do you know what I'll be thinking?
04:02Because I'll ask you.
04:05And I'll tell me.
04:14Jesse Buckley is currently in the midst of picking up awards
04:17for her devastating turn in Hamnet.
04:19I always thought she was the one to be taken away
04:21when all the while it was him.
04:23How does one follow up a career best performance?
04:25With a project that sounds equally bold and bonkers.
04:28What happened?
04:30You had an accident.
04:32Buckley is unrecognizable as the titular bride,
04:35who's given a second act after death
04:37with some help from a possibly mad scientist
04:39and her new monster beau, Frank.
04:41What do you want with a dead girl?
04:44I'm the same. Born from the dead.
04:46Christian Bale, Annette Bening, and Peter Sarsgaard
04:49also star in the latest film from writer-director Maggie Gyllenhaal,
04:52who reimagines a classic story as a Prohibition-era crime romance
04:56about a woman taking her life back in more ways than one.
04:59Please don't hurt me, please. I'm sorry.
05:01What are you sorry for?
05:02There have been many Frankenstein adaptations,
05:06but this is one bride who will surely stand out from all others.
05:10No, just the bride.
05:13Number 3. Myst.
05:14Epic. Elvis Presley in Concert.
05:16Even after the 2022 biopic,
05:19Baz Luhrmann isn't done with Elvis Presley.
05:21We're caught in a trap.
05:24During the latter film's production,
05:27Luhrmann uncovered a treasure trove of unseen footage
05:29from the 1970 documentary Elvis That's the Way It Is
05:32and the 1972 concert film Elvis on Tour.
05:35Hello out there. Hello.
05:38Luhrmann and company have meticulously restored that footage
05:41into a film that captures why Elvis was considered the king.
05:44For those who never got to see Elvis live,
05:46this is perhaps the closest you'll ever come.
05:48Although we know the footage is archived,
05:51it truly feels as if Elvis is singing and sweating in our presence.
05:54If you feel it, you can't help but move to it.
05:59We're confident that many will catch up with this on streaming,
06:02but believe us, you are missing out if you don't see Epic on the big screen.
06:07Number 3. Won't Miss.
06:12Hoppers.
06:13James Cameron's Avatar has drawn parallels to numerous animated films.
06:17We guess things have come full circle,
06:19with Pixar's Hoppers comparing itself to Avatar.
06:22We put this into this.
06:24Yes, yes, this into this.
06:26While both center on a human having an out-of-body experience as they infiltrate nature,
06:31Hoppers substitutes the blue aliens for beavers.
06:34Early reactions have already pegged Hoppers as one of Pixar's funniest movies of recent years.
06:39You want to live here?
06:40You better learn pond rules.
06:41What are pond rules?
06:43Oh, I am clear in the rest of the day.
06:45Let's hear it for Mabel, everyone.
06:47This shouldn't come as a surprise,
06:49as the director is We Bare Bears creator Daniel Chong.
06:52Hoppers promises to blend the offbeat humor of a Cartoon Network show with the heart of Pixar.
06:57How did he get a little crown?
06:59That's your question?
07:01Fellow animals!
07:02The humans have stolen their last inch of land from us!
07:05If there's one thing theatrical animation needs right now, it's originality.
07:10Even if the setup for Hoppers sounds a touch familiar,
07:13the execution should be anything but.
07:15Your life is in danger.
07:17You must do exactly as we say, Harry.
07:21LOL.
07:22I mean, Jerry.
07:23Drive now.
07:24Rocket ship.
07:25Number 2.
07:26Mist.
07:27Crime 101.
07:28Bart Layton previously directed the heist film American Animals,
07:32which deserved to find a wider audience in 2018.
07:35Layton maintained his underrated status with Crime 101,
07:38another slickly made addition to the heist genre.
07:41I'm real good at reading people.
07:43What have you read about me?
07:46Okay.
07:47Of course, the film isn't so much about the heist as it is about the characters.
07:50Their backgrounds may be different, ranging from cops to criminals,
07:54yet each is unfulfilled to a certain degree.
07:56I think all of these are the same guy.
07:58And he hits every time.
08:00None is above bending the rules, although some will go further than others.
08:04Even the most unlikely characters can sometimes feel like reflections of one another,
08:09building to a climax reminiscent of heat.
08:12Crime 101 might not reach the same heights as that film.
08:15Neither have most of the crime dramas released in the past 30 years.
08:19There comes a moment when you realize you don't have as much time as you thought you had.
08:23Number 2.
08:24Won't Miss.
08:24Daredevil Born Again Season 2.
08:26The MCU may be making a comeback,
08:29with the first season of Daredevil Born Again being a highlight.
08:32It's okay. I'm here.
08:34Yeah.
08:36I'm here.
08:37The sequel series has somehow taken Matt Murdock to even darker places,
08:41while Wilson Fisk has reached the pinnacle of power.
08:43To knock Kingpin off his pedestal,
08:46Daredevil will receive backup this season from Jessica Jones,
08:49once again played by Kristen Ritter.
08:51I hope he can walk because I'm not carrying you.
08:53We're not expecting her to do all the heavy lifting,
08:55but hopefully this means a revival is in the cards for her as well.
08:59We'll also see the return of Bullseye,
09:01Karen Page,
09:02and Foggy Nelson.
09:03It's unclear if the latter will appear in flashbacks,
09:06or if Born Again will take on a literal meaning.
09:09Either way, we are not missing an episode.
09:19Number 1.
09:20Missed.
09:21Nirvana, the band, the show, the movie.
09:23You might have heard of a band called Nirvana.
09:25Yet not nearly enough people have heard of this movie based on a TV show,
09:30based on a web series about a musical group named Nirvana, the band.
09:33But not the Nirvana, the band you're probably thinking of.
09:36As far as I'm concerned, Nirvana, the band is playing the Rivoli tonight.
09:40Are you a little confused, but also laughing?
09:42Then Nirvana, the band, the show, the movie should be right up your alley.
09:45This would have insane ramifications.
09:47Matt Johnson and Jay McCarroll play fictional versions of themselves,
09:50who are still trying to book a gig despite their complete lack of music credits.
09:55Right off the bat, they're going to ask for an encore.
09:58Their latest attempt sends them back in time to 2008,
10:01which technically makes this a period piece.
10:03Think about that.
10:05Like its predecessors, this film seems destined for cult status.
10:09If you're watching this in theaters, thank your lucky stars.

10:29Number 1. Won't Miss.
10:31Project Hail Mary.
10:32If you're like us, you spent February either reading or re-reading
10:36Andy Weir's sci-fi novel in preparation for this silver screen adaptation.
10:40I'm not an astronaut.
10:42I'm not an astronaut.
10:44If you don't go, you die.
10:47Where the rest of us...
10:48Like The Martian, which Drew Goddard also wrote the screenplay for,
10:52Project Hail Mary centers on an isolated space traveler.
10:55Every star was infected by its neighbor except one.
10:58Why?
10:58We don't know.
11:00He's not entirely alone,
11:02as Ryan Gosling's Ryland Grace finds companionship in an alien named Rocky,
11:06who is largely brought to life through practical effects.
11:09So I have a new roommate now.
11:11Hi, Grace.
11:12Behind the camera are Phil Lord and Christopher Miller,
11:14two visionaries who continue to push the boundaries of what cinema can be to new frontiers.
11:19Between the source material and the talent involved,
11:22it seems like the stars may align with this one,
11:24hopefully delivering a modern classic.
11:27But seriously, when can we buy Rocky merch?
11:29We can go home.
11:33What are you looking forward to in March and what do you need to catch up on?
11:36Let us know in the comments.
