00:00Operation Epic Fury, the U.S. and Israeli strikes aimed at destroying Iran's nuclear program and
00:05bringing about regime change, killed not only Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei,
00:10but several members of his family, and according to President Trump,
00:1348 additional key regime leaders. The operation has also resulted in at least three American
00:20military deaths and left five other Americans, quote, seriously wounded. Here's some of what
00:25President Trump said about those casualties Sunday afternoon.
00:27As one nation, we grieve for the true American patriots who have made the ultimate sacrifice
00:34for our nation, even as we continue the righteous mission for which they gave their lives.
00:42We pray for the full recovery of the wounded and send our immense love and eternal gratitude to the
00:49families of the fallen. And sadly, there will likely be more before it ends. That's the way
00:57it is.
00:58As of Sunday night, it wasn't clear where exactly the service members were killed and their
01:02identities had not yet been released. Now, in retaliation for the joint operation,
01:07Iran has attacked U.S. bases across the region, airports and hotels in Dubai, Kuwait's airport,
01:12the city of Tel Aviv in Israel, and more. Meanwhile, in Karachi, Pakistan, protesters tried
01:18to overrun the U.S. consulate. Police fired on protesters who breached the building's outer walls,
01:23killing 10 and injuring dozens more. Now, we'll dig much deeper into the Iran story in just a minute.
01:28But first, here are some other stories making headlines today.
01:31A 53-year-old Senegalese national has been identified as the man who unleashed a deadly
01:37rampage in the busy entertainment district of Austin, Texas in the wee hours of Sunday morning.
01:43Authorities say the gunman began with a drive-by shooting, first opening fire from the window of
01:47his vehicle as he drove past Buford's bar. He then parked and continued on foot, raining bullets
01:54down on the area before being killed by police who were responding to the incident. Now, they were
01:58on the scene practically immediately, in less than a minute, 57 seconds to be exact. As of Sunday
02:04night, two people were dead with 14 others injured. Video footage shows the man, a naturalized
02:10American citizen who at one point lived in the Bronx, toting a rifle and wearing a sweatshirt
02:15with the words property of Allah on it. Law enforcement sources suggested that the bloodbath
02:20was potentially an act of vengeance over the U.S. attack on Iran. Sources told the Post that the
02:25killer was possibly wearing a shirt under that sweatshirt with the Iranian flag or other Iran-related
02:31imagery. Given all that, the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force is on the scene and investigating the
02:36incident as a possible terror attack. Secretary of War Pete Hegseth is banning members of the
02:42military from getting an education at elite universities, ones like Princeton, Columbia,
02:47MIT, Brown, and Yale. For decades, the Ivy League and similar institutions have gorged themselves on
02:53a trust fund of American taxpayer dollars, only to become factories of anti-American resentment
02:59and military disdain. Hegseth, a Princeton University and Harvard Kennedy School graduate,
03:05went on to argue that schools like those were not about education, but indoctrination that teach,
03:11in his words, wokeness and weakness. The secretary says the list of banned institutions
03:16will include, quote, many others, and that this order will go into effect with the 2026-27 academic
03:22year. The secretary also promised to begin a top-down review of the department's military
03:27colleges like West Point and the U.S. Naval Academy to ensure that they are, quote, wholly dedicated to
03:33the singular mission of developing the most lethal and effective leaders and warfighters the world has ever
03:38known. For more on these stories and everything else you could possibly want to know, check out the
