00:00The U.S. launched another wave of airstrikes in Iran over the weekend after multiple American
00:04service members were killed following Iranian missile and drone attacks. Iran claims one of
00:09the targets hit by the U.S. was a nuclear power plant that had been under construction,
00:13though as of Sunday evening, the U.S. hadn't confirmed that detail. Central Command says
00:17the strikes targeted Iranian coastal surveillance site, air defenses, missile storage facilities,
00:23drone capabilities, and other military targets used to threaten commercial shipping in the
00:27Hormuz. For more on President Trump's reaction to Iran's attacks and Iran's anger over the
00:32retaliation, let's bring in the New York Post's deputy managing editor, Michael Zinni.
00:36We have seen the conflict really escalate over this weekend. First, we saw two U.S. service
00:48members killed and one more missing. We believe that remains have been found that could be this
00:55service member in Jordan, which is, and this was from Iranian strikes all the way on the far side of
01:04Iraq into the U.S. ally Jordan. As a result of that, the U.S. struck back and reportedly hit
01:13an
01:14under construction Iranian nuclear power plant. The Iranians vociferously complained about this.
01:23They said it was a dangerous strike. Then what was following on that is Kuwait, which is another
01:32strong U.S. ally, reported attacks on a desalination plant, which is really critical to
01:38supplying water in the region as well as energy infrastructure. There was also another U.S.
01:45service member killed, apparently trying to disarm a shot-down Iranian weapon in Iraq. So all of this
01:55really did escalate over the weekend, and we saw the range of the conflict really seem to expand.
02:05We will see what comes further from this. President Trump has repeatedly said that Iran,
02:12the strikes on Iran, would escalate if the peace agreement, if they did not return to the
02:21Memorandum of Understanding and to peace negotiations.
