00:01A seven-year-old boy was at the Denver International Airport when he lost his entire binder of Pokemon cards.
00:11Not good.
00:12His dad posted online, devastated, right?
00:15And let's make it abundantly clear, even though I'm not a Pokemon card collector, these things are worth something, right?
00:24Like, when you make these collections, they can be especially worth something one day.
00:28They can be, right.
00:29But, I mean, especially to a kid who clearly has a collection, he takes good care of it, he has
00:35a binder for his collection.
00:37He's working on growing it, making trades.
00:39This is his thing.
00:41So even if they're worth nothing, right?
00:44Like, this means something emotionally to him.
00:46So get this.
00:47This is the power of numbers that I think is so fantastic.
00:50So United Airlines, their social media team, actually responded.
00:53Now, here I'm thinking, okay, big, big flight company going to donate some money to help him restart his Pokemon
01:01collection or maybe give him a couple cards.
01:03No, they actually turned to their own employees.
01:06Stay with me.
01:07Employees from across United Airlines responded by donating their own cards that they have collected over their time.
01:17And they donated, as a team, over 15,000 Pokemon cards to this little boy.
01:24Oh, my gosh.
01:26Wow.
01:26I didn't even know this was a thing, if I'm honest.
01:29So here I'm thinking, like, okay, corporate profits, they're going to throw him a couple thousand bucks to help him
01:33restart and maybe, you know, get him in touch with a collector or whatever it might be.
01:36No, they turned internally to their team.
01:39And United Airlines staffers, from pilots all the way down to the ones getting our bags, right, they came together
01:45to donate this.
01:46And now, 15,000 cards, that's a whole lot more than this seven-year-old was knocking before.
01:51Probably, yeah.
01:53So him and his family, they've decided they're going to host a school trading party.
01:57Oh.
01:58And he plans on donating extras to others who might not have theirs because he knows what it's like to
02:04not have his card.
02:05That's so sweet.
02:06And I'm also thinking this is a win-win because for all those 15,000, you know, like, cards that
02:12were donated, you know that their owners were like, what am I doing with this now?
02:16Right.
02:16Like, what, you can't, you just, again, you can't, it's like there's some emotional attachment to it.
02:22Yeah.
02:22I collected these things, but now what the heck am I supposed to do with them?
02:25They're just sitting in storage.
02:27Perfect.
02:27Donate them to the little boy.
02:29This email probably dinged into all, you know, all of these United Airlines employees and they go, I know where
02:35mine are.
02:35Yeah.
02:36I have a binder.
02:37Get rid of them.
