00:03So there's the seats from Wembley, right?
00:06Yeah.
00:07Look at the plaque.
00:08Oh, wow!
00:10That's really lovely.
00:12And these are the Wembley.
00:12They're the actual seats that my family sat on.
00:17A life-changing day.
00:19I remember going to the Cup Final in 1985, Watford against Everton,
00:24and I had to walk about three miles
00:26because I didn't have enough money to get the train from Watford to Wembley
00:29to meet the boys.
00:30Do you know what I mean?
00:31You're in the stands watching Watford, your team and all that,
00:34right up with the pigeons and all that,
00:35and then three years later, you're actually on the bloody pitch.
00:39Mind blown.
00:40In the FA Cup Final.
00:41Mind blown.
00:41Winning it against the mightiest team on the planet at the time.
00:45Wow.
00:46Did you ever imagine that you were going to be doing that?
00:49I used to watch the England games, right?
00:51I used to go to all the England games when I was younger,
00:53and I used to wear my England kit and my England tracksuit
00:56in case one of the players didn't turn up.
01:00That's what you think in your head, don't you?
01:02That's amazing.
01:03Yeah.
01:13It's been a long, chaotic summer.
01:15Are we on?
01:18And it's not over yet.
01:20Coming in, you go, oh, bosh.
01:23The progress at Manor House is fantastic right now.
01:25Pipes, radiators, kitchens.
01:28It's my fix, if you like.
01:29With your snags in front of me, there's too much white.
01:32The Manor is on the home straight.
01:34Emma's disco lights.
01:35Come on, Patty, what do you think, Tom?
01:37Excellent.
01:37I love it.
01:38Woo-hoo!
01:39There's a floating sign going down there.
01:41Saying what?
01:43V Jones is the bollocks.
01:44Oh, dear.
01:47I'm now praying for one final thing to break my way.
01:50I need the lake house permission to come through so that I can roll everybody from the Manor House down
01:56the hill into work.
01:58Because what I don't want to do is start losing all the trades.
02:00We're going to do the fence in black, are we?
02:02Yeah.
02:02Well, I've only done half of it.
02:04Can you wire it up so I go, bosh?
02:05I've got the carpenters, the electricians, the painters.
02:08I've got us all busy.
02:09Keep the memento going.
02:16Good girl.
02:18Good girl.
02:20Good girl, mama.
02:21Good girl.
02:23But the tradies up at the Manor ain't the only circus in town right now.
02:27They're just shitting machines.
02:29It's just a factory of shite.
02:32Pip's five pups are thriving up at the farm.
02:34And she's not the only one who's gone full on mama bear.
02:38Fifteen days old and they're doing amazing.
02:42I've had many, many puppies in my time and this is an Emma time to have the chaos of the
02:48puppies.
02:49I'm at the Manor House. I've got to get on with this job.
02:51I just can't deal with the piss and shit.
02:55They're full on. They just go for it.
02:57It ain't my thing. I'll be at the Manor House with the lads.
03:00We've got one brown.
03:02All the girls are black.
03:04One slightly with a chocolate sheen.
03:07Who have we got here?
03:08This is Minnie.
03:09Because she's the smallest.
03:11She's tiny.
03:12But she's getting bigger.
03:14And she's all black.
03:15She's beautiful.
03:17Hi.
03:18And then we've got our black and tan boy.
03:22He's just so gorgeous. Look at him.
03:24You're a very handsome boy, aren't you?
03:28Good girl, mama.
03:31And here's Joy.
03:33Joy is the girl that I pulled out and revived.
03:39And she is the first one to open her eyes.
03:43She beat everyone to it.
03:46And she's doing so well.
03:48It was such a stressful time.
03:52That I just thought, like, she represents Joy, really.
03:57Because against all odds, I didn't think I was going to be able to pull her out that day.
04:02I really didn't.
04:02It's a bit of a blur.
04:03Look at her.
04:05She's a complete bruiser.
04:07And she's thriving.
04:11Yes!
04:15It's hard because I'd sort of keep them all.
04:18He is a real character, this one.
04:23He is the troublemaker.
04:24He's the Vinny of the group.
04:26He just terrorises everyone.
04:29He just causes mayhem and trouble.
04:31He was the last to open his eyes.
04:33He's just the Vinny of the group.
04:35But I really...
04:36I've sort of fallen in love with her.
04:40What are you doing?
04:42Hey?
04:43I mean, look at him.
04:44I mean, he's hilarious.
04:46I should really call him Vinny.
04:48I should.
04:49Shouldn't I?
04:50He is...
04:50Look at him.
04:51Look at his face.
04:52He is just such a little bruiser.
04:55He's like, yeah, come and have a go if you think you're hard enough.
04:58Hey?
04:59That is the crazy gang.
05:01And there we have it.
05:02The absolute crazy gang.
05:08While I've been running around like a blue-ass fly...
05:12Hello!
05:13I've not had time to check in on Wobbs' progress.
05:16Thought you was hiding down here.
05:18It's lovely, isn't it?
05:19It's coming on.
05:20It's coming on.
05:21We're getting there.
05:21Looks great.
05:22But we're not there yet.
05:24What I'm building here is probably, I would say, 85% of men's dream.
05:31But we'd all love a man cave.
05:32We do.
05:32It's a man thing.
05:33We all love a shed at the bottom of the garden.
05:36Yeah, yeah.
05:36Be careful.
05:36They're not doing that, are they?
05:38Or is that optical illusion?
05:38No, it's optical, mate, yeah.
05:39Might be nice at both corners, mightn't it?
05:41Yeah, well, if you want to, we can.
05:43There and there, I think.
05:43Because...
05:44Well, we could.
05:44But, I mean, that's butted in.
05:45If you want me to, I can.
05:47I think it would be nice.
05:48OK, mate.
05:49The older you get, the more time you spend in your shed.
05:52But with him, he can't sit still for five minutes.
05:54So I can't see that he's going to get any benefit out of it.
05:57That's wrong, because that's fucking above that.
06:00You don't, Jack.
06:00No, it will drive me mad, Wobbs.
06:02You know it will.
06:03It won't be.
06:03It just...
06:04Wobbs, I'm not here to drive you mad.
06:06We'll just do a distraction dance.
06:08Yeah, that's it, darling.
06:08Yeah, that's it, yeah.
06:09Just look over there.
06:10No, they're only little...
06:12Listen, on every job, there's little snaggings.
06:15Yeah.
06:15And he is the snag master.
06:17I am the snag master.
06:18What I'd like to say is, let's finish, and then we'll have a snag.
06:20How's the diet going?
06:24Can you see me?
06:25Look.
06:27Emma, can you see me?
06:29Barely.
06:31Are you nailed on?
06:32Are you, like, so aggressive with it?
06:34Er, I...
06:35Or are you easing up with it?
06:36No, I'm...
06:36Yeah, I'm pretty full on with it.
06:39You seem better in yourself for it, I think.
06:41You've got to feel right about yourself.
06:45Before everything else.
06:46Because if you don't, you don't care.
06:47That's what I found.
06:49You know what I mean?
06:49You ain't bothered.
06:50You ain't bothered what you look like.
06:51Yeah.
06:51But if you start to feel good about yourself again, it all helps.
06:54There you go.
06:55And that is why, that is why, you seem better.
06:58Yeah, I am, yeah.
06:58I think you're better in your head.
06:59Well, yeah.
07:00The other thing is, as well, you've got to deal with today.
07:03Because yesterday is gone, and tomorrow, you'll deal with what comes along tomorrow.
07:08Life is today.
07:09You're in life now.
07:10100%.
07:10Not tomorrow, not yet.
07:11Yesterday's done.
07:12100%.
07:12100%.
07:18Well done, Wobbs.
07:23I think Wobbly's done brilliant.
07:24I think he's coming to terms with things.
07:27He's coming to a place where he can get up in the morning and start functioning.
07:33And watch that level, it's...
07:35He's got me at it now.
07:36Piss off.
07:37Oi, levels are not lying bastards.
07:39They tell the truth.
07:40Yeah.
07:48Hun?
07:49Yeah?
07:51Come and have one of these apples.
07:54Hun, I've got the planning through for the lake house.
07:57What?
07:58Yes.
07:59You're joking.
07:59I ain't.
08:01Look.
08:01What?
08:02All of it?
08:03All done.
08:04It's done.
08:07It's only taken three years.
08:09Wow.
08:10Are we going to call him a reinforcement?
08:12I'm actually shaking.
08:13Finally, we've pressed the button on the lake house.
08:16I couldn't sleep easier right now, knowing I've got two years' worth of work in front of me.
08:21Well done.
08:22Here's an apple.
08:23From the tree.
08:27They're called Juju's.
08:32This is going to be a huge project.
08:35I mean, absolutely huge.
08:38He is going to be very excited.
08:41I've done everything by the book.
08:42And I've got a smile on my face.
08:44Rock and roll.
08:45Rock and roll.
08:47They're going to stop us now.
08:49Woo!
08:58Getting the green light on the lake house is like having Christmas come early.
09:03Whatever you're doing with your lorries and diggers, I need you out of here.
09:07Just the boost I need to get the manor over the line and move on.
09:11Let's go, let's go, let's go.
09:13Timing is everything.
09:15Crack that whip.
09:16I'm trying to make everything run smooth like clockwork.
09:22Winter doubles your money, doubles your time, doubles your frustration.
09:26So I want to get in there and get a good move on before October comes.
09:31How much longer have we got on these, mate?
09:32Yeah, we've got to really push on now.
09:34This has been a project of his for the last three years.
09:38He must have been dying to get started on it.
09:41So won't be tired of anyone who stands in his way now
09:43because he's going to go mad at it, I'm sure.
09:46I'm just winding the lads up now.
09:47Plenty to do. Short time to do it in. That's normal, Grant.
09:50You know what I mean?
09:51It's almost like you've unleashed the dragon.
09:53We're waiting on Russ again, are we?
09:55Fucking hell, Russ.
09:57Thankfully, rising star Glenn...
09:59Sun never sets on Glenn.
10:00That's right.
10:01And his digger.
10:01Has shown he can take whatever I throw at him.
10:04It's a long snagging list of little bits that have been started,
10:07not finished, that we had to do in order.
10:10So we're just working through them now.
10:12We've got to shorten the list, not keep adding to it.
10:14Every time I come up here, you find something else,
10:17something else, something else.
10:18And as soon as we get that done, get me to the lake house.
10:21He already wants me there this week,
10:22but that's not going to happen.
10:24Come on, let's go, baby.
10:29And I'm not the only one raring to go.
10:32Come on, then.
10:33Ooh, the old tail's wagging.
10:35We've now got Pip back.
10:37Her shape's coming back on.
10:39Up, up, up, up.
10:40Good girl.
10:42Whoop, whoop, whoop.
10:43First time out.
10:44Back with your dad, eh?
10:46She's shaking.
10:47She's shaking like with adrenaline.
10:49Just like me on the old football field
10:51when I used to come out of the dressing room.
10:53Eh, Pip?
10:53Ready?
10:54Ready?
10:54She's back.
10:56She's out.
10:57She's snatched back, got her figure back.
11:00She is beside herself.
11:02If she cannot be out with Vinny, diggers, action,
11:07constant chaos, if she can't be out there with him doing that,
11:11then she's just depressed.
11:14I'm celebrating with a cup of coffee.
11:16Now she's back.
11:17It's great.
11:18We've got me wingman back.
11:20Well, girl.
11:22I'm going to show the old flap, Jack.
11:25The first call of duty.
11:27Here he is, look.
11:28Here he is.
11:29Checking out the manor's new custom-built gates.
11:32Bye, Goat.
11:33And delivered this morning by Blacksmith Goat.
11:42I'm going to put the posts in now.
11:44We're standing there.
11:45I'm going to put the gates over there.
11:46His work is magnificent.
11:48It's unbelievable.
11:50I think you've hit it in the sweet spot.
11:52Well done, mate.
11:53I really do.
11:53Yeah.
11:54You don't want great big massive things.
11:56It's still got to blend in.
11:58It's not Wentworth.
11:58Do you know what I mean?
11:59Exactly.
12:00Is it Buckingham Palace, mate?
12:02Is it Clarence House?
12:03I'd lift that when I was younger.
12:05Yeah.
12:08I think that's got to be a bit more of an angle, you know?
12:11No, she's about right, look.
12:13That's higher than that, though, Goat, isn't it?
12:15No, it's not.
12:16It's illusion.
12:17Is it?
12:18Yeah.
12:18Just an illusion.
12:20Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ah.
12:22Mate, I think they look good.
12:29Having lit a fire under everyone else's arses, I need to put my money where my mouth is and sort
12:34my own snag list out.
12:36And one thing I need to get squared away before summer's out is the beach I built for when the
12:42grandkids visit next.
12:43I love lake swimming.
12:45The excitement of going down there in the mornings.
12:48You don't want to do it, but you do it, and once you're in, it really lifts your whole spirits.
12:53It's amazing.
12:55I put the entire job on hold after me bodge job with the builder's sand.
13:00But now Colsy's joined Emma's little paddling posse, something tells me I'm on borrowed time to get it sorted.
13:07I know it's the wrong stuff.
13:09It's on the list.
13:11And I will go back to it.
13:13Oh!
13:14Ah!
13:19It's quicksand!
13:20He's got the wrong sound, hasn't he?
13:24It's quicksand!
13:26That's the fucking surprise!
13:28I will take a little digger down there, take some out, use that as my bedding, and put my quartz
13:35on top.
13:36That's my next plan.
13:40Do you feel like you're connected to your body, like your breath?
13:45Oh!
13:47Oh!
13:48Oh!
13:49Oh!
13:50Oh!
13:51Oh, this is lovely.
13:53Because it's meant to be good for ADHD.
13:55Well, you sound like you're struggling a bit, and I feel quite cool.
13:59I think when anybody sort of comes to the countryside from more of a town-y situation, they're a bit
14:07apprehensive, maybe, of the quietness from it.
14:10But I think cosy, it's really fun to watch him sort of come to life.
14:18Seeing him enjoy the swimming is just lovely.
14:22Shall I try and walk out where the beach was?
14:25Yeah, up there.
14:26Right?
14:26You're David Hasselhoff vibes, and I'm Pam, okay?
14:30Right, I've got weeds, here we go.
14:32You are the hob!
14:35Oh!
14:36Oh, you...
14:37Yeah!
14:38You can't get up here.
14:40Okay, take two.
14:42That was a test.
14:43Yes!
14:44Go!
14:46Oh!
14:46Yep!
14:48Yep!
14:49That is stunning.
14:51Love your work.
14:53David Hasselhoff.
14:54Eat your heart.
14:55I feel like Mr fucking Blobby.
15:01I ain't throwing the towel in on me beach just yet.
15:04I'll add the fix to young Glenn's ever-expanding snag list.
15:09With Lake House planning finally in me pocket,
15:12the beach ain't the only thing that needs a good clear-out.
15:15You never know what's behind there, do you?
15:17Come on.
15:18Yeah, perfect.
15:20And the barn on the edge of the property seems a good place to start.
15:24These are all from the lady I bought them off.
15:27They must have stored them all here and never took them.
15:29When you see a bold lady in an armchair
15:33and you're sitting on her bed in the living room,
15:36and she tells you the struggle it was to keep the farm going,
15:41and she was terrified of losing her legacy.
15:44She didn't want people coming in and splitting it up.
15:47When she said to me, she called me in, she said,
15:50would you buy this place and keep it as is?
15:52I was like, eh?
15:53Because there was a lot of people who wanted this place.
15:54I can imagine, yeah.
15:55I can imagine.
15:56She said, I'll only sell it to you, she said.
15:58I said, all right.
15:59So anyway, we came to a deal and everything, and she said,
16:01the other part of the deal is...
16:02Because you bought it while she was still in the property, didn't you?
16:04Yeah, still alive.
16:05Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
16:06And I said, she can live it until the day she dies.
16:10That is a side of Vincent that not a lot of people see.
16:13He has got a very kind side.
16:15You know, he was very good to me when I was down.
16:17It kind of resonates with people that are in a bad stage in their life.
16:20It just tries to give them a bit of a pat on the back, really.
16:23Part of the deal was, her mum...
16:25There's a little field down there called Mum's Field, they call it.
16:28Her mum is buried down there.
16:30When I put the ashes down there with her mum.
16:33With her mum, lovely.
16:34And that's called Mum's Field.
16:35She's the kind of old girl that would be sitting on top of that oak tree
16:39on a big branch looking down and going, ha, ha, ha, go on, Vin.
16:43Someone's life, innit? Someone's memories.
16:45That's where I get a bit emotional about it all.
16:47Yeah, I know, yeah.
16:48This lady had amassed what she'd amassed around her in her lifetime,
16:52and it was all just left in a pile.
16:54That's somebody's life.
16:56Years ago, that would have meant something to somebody.
16:58There, look at that, that's nice.
17:00Give that to Simon. He'll make me a nice stick out of that.
17:02He would do, wouldn't he?
17:03And it got me thinking, and I'm thinking,
17:05is that what life's all about?
17:08Do you go through life collecting all this stuff
17:12for it to mean nothing?
17:14Vinny picked a stick up,
17:15and it looked to me as though it resonated with him.
17:18You never know what you're gonna find.
17:19That'll clean up nice.
17:21I like to think that I will carry on her legacy.
17:24We're the keepers.
17:25All we are is the lock keepers for her.
17:28Whatever we do down there,
17:30it will always be Celeste's house.
17:33The old Celeste stick.
17:34That'd be nice, wouldn't it?
17:42The most ridiculous idea I've ever, ever heard.
17:53You can't let people on this. This is too dangerous.
17:56And also, it's covered in goose shit now.
17:59So, I don't think I'll be sunbathing on this.
18:01It's not sand trope, it's building sand.
18:03El Rongo.
18:04I don't know.
18:05Look at this shit everywhere.
18:13Another day.
18:14Morning, boys.
18:15You okay?
18:16Yeah, good.
18:16Another round in the ring.
18:18No, it can't be fucking done.
18:20Keeping the pressure on.
18:22We'll get that done, that done.
18:23We'll get the table in.
18:24Some few chairs.
18:25Because before the bell rings for the main event at the lake house.
18:29Who's that leaving?
18:30What time do you call this?
18:32I've got a few more belts lined up over on this side of the hill.
18:36Straight forward.
18:37Just lift the front.
18:38That's it.
18:38There you go.
18:39That is the absolute nuts.
18:41Look how big it is.
18:49One job I've got to stop dancing around is the beach by the jetty.
18:53Right, Pip.
18:54Come on then.
18:55It's been hanging over me all summer.
18:57We need a beach open sign, don't we?
19:00Yeah, that's it.
19:00Yeah.
19:01Right, that's spooky.
19:02And with the right sand finally in hand, it'll be Costa del VJ come sundown.
19:08That's the pop of beach sand, isn't it?
19:09Absolutely.
19:10But look, build a castle out of that, mate, look.
19:12Look.
19:14Come on, Zachy, let's get it in.
19:15Moment of truth, then.
19:21It's not as white as I thought it would be.
19:24Is that as white as it comes?
19:25Yeah.
19:26Perfect.
19:27Here we go, look.
19:28Taking all the glory, Glenn.
19:29No, no.
19:30Take it.
19:31Taking all the glory.
19:32It's there to be taken.
19:38Sometimes I take 10 steps forward and 15 back, but then I'll take another 10 forward.
19:45But this is what I envisage.
19:47Maybe we should start an interior design company.
19:50I'd love it.
19:51Yeah, no.
19:51I'm good at that.
19:52You have got vision, haven't you?
19:54Just that everybody's not on the same...
19:55No.
19:57Well, the trouble is, everybody's got to do your vision.
20:00I'll go too fast for you fucking lot.
20:05When he first suggested it at a beach, I thought he'd have a...
20:08You know what?
20:08As did I.
20:09Mr Richie's got two of them, mate.
20:10Oh, there you go.
20:11That'll come, that'll come.
20:12There'll be three, there'll be three here then.
20:13That'll come.
20:13There'll be three.
20:15You're going to love that.
20:16Yeah.
20:17I know you've got enough to do, but if you can just come and rake it every morning before
20:20you start work.
20:21I'll put that on my list, yeah.
20:22Is that all right?
20:23I'll leave that hour earlier.
20:24Yeah, stick that on your list if you don't mind.
20:26I'll de-shit it first and then...
20:32Sand swapped out and the beach finally squared away.
20:36I know my grandkids will be made up with my efforts next time they come and stay.
20:41Harry!
20:44Hey!
20:45How are you doing, mate?
20:46Good.
20:47What?
20:47Eddie!
20:49What, mate?
20:50I've learned.
20:51Where's your tooth gone?
20:52It fell out a few weeks ago.
20:55Yeah.
20:56The tooth fairy gave me a whole point here.
20:59Oh!
21:01Guess what I've got.
21:03Oh my God!
21:09Look at his nose!
21:11Yeah.
21:12We'll put her back, shall we?
21:15Harry!
21:16They don't seem so distant because you can just video call them.
21:20But there's nothing better than to have them here and give them a cuddle.
21:23Harry's straightening his leg, Grandad.
21:25Have you?
21:26Let's have a look.
21:27Oh, well done.
21:29Are you walking about the crutches now?
21:31Yeah.
21:32My grandson had cancer of the leg.
21:34I mean, he's clear, but he's not out of the woods yet.
21:37He's had a lot of this year.
21:39He's doing really well.
21:40Well, that's good news, Harry.
21:41Well done.
21:41Keep going.
21:42Keep strong.
21:43I've been building a beach for you down the lake.
21:46Have you?
21:47Very nice.
21:48So loud yours.
21:49Over those.
21:51Yeah.
21:51All white sand.
21:52Lovely white sand.
21:54The weather the way it's been when we have gone over, I would get a tad.
21:57Yeah.
21:58Shame you didn't get over this time, but we'll get over later.
22:01Yeah.
22:02We'll get over later on.
22:03Talk to you next week on your birthday, Harry.
22:06All right?
22:07Okay.
22:07Ed, give us a kiss and I'll see you later.
22:10You got a kiss for granddad.
22:14Eddie.
22:17You little farter.
22:19See you later.
22:20See you, Harry.
22:20Bye.
22:23Those kids remind me of what I've got to be thankful for in this life.
22:27But knowing that everyone's as fortunate, today I'm given a little helping hand to a charity
22:33that hits close to home.
22:34So the Magic Taxi send not only Terminal kids to Disneyland,
22:39also their siblings that don't really get as much attention at this time, obviously,
22:46because all the attention goes on to the child that's very, very ill.
22:50So the cabboys take them to Disneyland.
22:52They drive them there.
22:55And to help raise funds for the volunteers next trip.
22:58Bring that round to here, girls.
22:59Pull it up to here and we'll serve from here.
23:01I've auctioned off a day's clay shooting and invited the cabboys along for the ride.
23:12My connection is my grandson had cancer of the leg and obviously, you know, it's brought it all home to
23:18me.
23:19You know, Harry's fight and these other kids' fights.
23:22So, it's very close to the heart.
23:30So, today is all about the children with us and the children that are not.
23:36That's what today is all about.
23:38And it's great that you've all given your time.
23:40All my lot have given their time to support you guys to show you our respect.
23:45It's all about fun today and it's all about such a fantastic cause.
23:53Right, let the games commence, boys.
23:59Pull! Pull!
24:03Nearly made it.
24:04Early. Straight at it.
24:06Oh, my God.
24:08Conservation shop.
24:10We'll be all right this year, Mick.
24:11We'd better put another day in.
24:12Pull!
24:15Straight at the rabbit.
24:17Yes.
24:19There you go.
24:20Brilliant, mate.
24:21Brilliant. That's what it's all about.
24:23Fun.
24:24How many did you get?
24:24One.
24:26Great. Absolutely great.
24:27It really is.
24:28So, walking around, there's a lot of people smiling and laughing.
24:31We'll do our bit.
24:32Yeah, no, it is.
24:33Absolutely fantastic.
24:34You know, as we always said, we've all got their stories, haven't we?
24:36Yeah.
24:36Every front door's got a story.
24:38It really has.
24:40It's not just those affected by cancer that support this charity.
24:45Jim's been sponsoring a taxi since he lost his lad in an accident four years ago.
24:50How old was Alfie?
24:5124.
24:52It's hard to come to terms with.
24:55A loss like that.
24:57Every day of the week, we go to the grave.
24:58Do you?
24:59Yeah.
24:59Change of flowers.
25:00Sometimes we go there at 11 o'clock at night.
25:02I know, because you'll feel guilty.
25:04Yeah.
25:04Have you lost your wife?
25:07It's a process, mate, and it takes time.
25:10Everything heaps on very early as well, but you start coping with it.
25:14You should get up in the morning and do the first task of the day, do it properly.
25:18And then you can do the next one a bit better, you know?
25:21And then, finally, all these hundreds of pieces will slowly, slowly come back together.
25:28You know what I mean?
25:29At the moment, your task is you're going to the grave every day.
25:32You know, you have got a task.
25:34It takes a long time, mate, and you've got to process it.
25:37Well, you think four years on, it would get a little bit easier, wouldn't you?
25:41But it seems to be harder for me.
25:42I don't know.
25:44You're around that three, four.
25:45Every time I think about it, am I break down?
25:47I don't know.
25:48On national TV.
25:48I had the same chat and burst into it on Piers Morgan.
25:52But I got it out there.
25:53I helped other blokes.
25:55I said, yeah, it's all right to fucking talk.
25:56It's all right to fucking cry and show our emotions.
25:59Why not?
26:00What I do is how...
26:02Mate, I've been there.
26:04Please don't apologise for me.
26:05But it's...
26:06I look to see how proud I'm making her now.
26:09I do.
26:09I just keep thinking this.
26:10Everyone says, God only takes the good first.
26:13Well, he definitely took the good with my boy.
26:14There you go.
26:15There you go.
26:16And take that with you and embrace that.
26:18I talk to the grave every day.
26:19Yeah, you will.
26:20You will.
26:21You'll be driving along and having a chat.
26:23I do try to enjoy myself, but I do think about him.
26:26Don't feel guilty about that.
26:28I used to feel that.
26:29Feel guilty about enjoying yourself.
26:31He's going to smile at that.
26:32The boy loves you.
26:33And, you know, he wants you to be happy, mate.
26:40This is lovely today.
26:42And I'm walking around.
26:43There's people who have got smiles on their faces.
26:44Yes.
26:45You know, and I think what a lot of people have gone through
26:47is what Vinny's been through, I've been through,
26:50what they're going through.
26:51It's very, very difficult when you're going through grief
26:54to talk about it.
26:55Very hard.
26:56Very, very hard.
26:57So what he's done today is great.
27:01I've been through a lot of grief one way or another,
27:04my wife and my mum, in the last few years.
27:07And people look and say, he's been through this.
27:09He knows what we're talking about.
27:10We trust him.
27:11And that's a massive word.
27:12The trust word.
27:21After today, I need to take a moment to myself.
27:25and have a breather.
27:30That's it, but he just sat there.
27:32Didn't know that was there.
27:40This is where the roe.
27:43The roebuck will come and stand here, look.
27:50It's a nice deer down there.
27:56It's my little spot.
27:58I do like this little spot here.
28:05I do like this little spot here.
28:10Cockpit isn't just there, look.
28:13Good looking boy, isn't he?
28:16That's your typical English ring neck hat, isn't he?
28:21Being alone with nature helps me through the tough days.
28:26It gives peace to reflect on the hard times.
28:29Talking to Jim, it just flooded back so many memories.
28:33You know, it's devastating.
28:34And the only way I can sit and listen
28:37and that is because I've been there and done it.
28:40I've been through it.
28:41He's going through it.
28:42And I'm still going through it.
28:44And I always will for the rest of my life go through it.
28:47Losing me mum,
28:48it's something that's very personal.
28:51It's a massive, massive blow that...
28:57I'm still holding in, I think.
29:00We're a couple of months on now.
29:03It worries me a little bit.
29:04I don't think that there's been no breakdown.
29:06It does worry me a little bit.
29:09I don't think you can control grief.
29:12It's uncontrollable.
29:13And with my mum, I'm trying to keep it away.
29:18Whether that's the right or wrong thing, I don't know.
29:21But it's painful, it's hard, you know.
29:28You've got to keep busy.
29:30Or you'll crumple.
29:33And I ain't going to crumple.
29:38It is the fear of crumpling that keeps me going, I think.
29:44Maybe I'm keeping myself too busy right now.
29:47I'm a little bit worried that if I slow down a little bit,
29:50it might all of a sudden fall out of the sky
29:53and be like a massive weight on me.
29:55But I'm just hoping that won't happen.
30:05At the manor, while I keep an eye on snags indoors...
30:09What the fuck is that?
30:11...old Glenny boy is a man on a mission.
30:14Making good the surrounding acreage churned up by my army of diggers.
30:18Commission touches, tarmac, topsoiling, final dressing in, seed it, done.
30:24So as long as no one interferes with our freshly laid topsoil,
30:27then no hiccups.
30:29Out of the manor house Friday, into the lake house Monday.
30:33Finally, everything's getting tied off proper.
30:36Come on!
30:37She's just in her element.
30:39She has spent more time on a building site than I have.
30:43Look, he's here!
30:44Don't!
30:44The great man himself!
30:47Oh, wow, Goat!
30:49They are lovely, aren't they?
30:50Do you like the weight and the girth of them?
30:52Oh, I was going to mention that.
30:53I'm feeling the mighty hand of Goat.
30:55Yes, that's it.
30:56Took us two weeks to do all the scrolls.
30:58No!
31:00What's he doing?
31:01Stop!
31:02No, no!
31:03Who's that?
31:04He is not going to get across that mud.
31:06Who is that?
31:07What is he doing?
31:09That's a plumber.
31:10He will not get over the top of that mud.
31:12That's all seeded.
31:13Grass.
31:14Couldn't wait five minutes.
31:15Oh!
31:17He's just realising.
31:18He's going back again.
31:19He's thought about it!
31:21It was all going far too well, and someone has just driven over our freshly seeded topsoil.
31:27We were getting through the list at a rate of knots, but behaviour like that obviously sets us back, which
31:34now I need to correct.
31:35So I'll add that back on the list.
31:39Whilst work motors along at the manor house, and the summer starts to draw to a close, over at the
31:45farm, we've got a big decision to make.
31:49Careful, because they chase you and your feet, you don't want to stand on one.
31:53Come on then.
31:55And since moving to the outdoor pen, the pups are giving Blondie the run around.
32:01100%, they've got it from Pip. Pip is an outdoor doggy.
32:05She never wants to be indoors, and her pups are the same, so it seems.
32:11I do like the black and tan. Look!
32:13Oh!
32:14The time has come, and I've told her we need to decide which one we're going to keep.
32:20The biggest problem we're going to have is Emma's going to want to keep all the puppies.
32:24This is Joy.
32:26She's gorgeous. She is gorgeous.
32:29Is this tiny?
32:31That's Minnie.
32:31Minnie.
32:33It's basically very difficult having to choose between five beautiful, amazing little pups.
32:41How do I do this?
32:42This is Heartbreak Hotel.
32:43So I am trying to persuade Vinny.
32:47Potentially, could we keep more than one?
32:50We are keeping one.
32:51Not two.
32:53Not five.
32:55We're keeping one.
32:57I'm having sleepless nights about it, because how do you choose?
33:00Should I tell you?
33:01Look, just look.
33:07Come on, come on, come on, come on.
33:10How do you even handle it?
33:12The size of...
33:14Like a little polar bear, like a little seal.
33:18He didn't have ankles for the longest time, because he was too fat.
33:22He had cankles only a mother could love.
33:25He's massive.
33:27He's like a little Chewbacca, isn't he?
33:29Yeah.
33:31Look, see if they make the noises.
33:35Look, I would put you under the cosh now.
33:37What would be your choice?
33:39I just can't cope.
33:41I would honestly take Joy, the one you save.
33:43But I do love Buster as well, because he reminds me of you.
33:47Is he that intelligent?
33:49He's a bruiser.
33:52And he's a very naughty boy.
33:54I wouldn't go for a boy.
33:55So maybe it's Joy then.
33:57I mean, that is the only one I've properly named.
34:00I think it's a no-brainer.
34:01So the decision has been made.
34:03We're keeping Joy.
34:05And I think she's got what it takes
34:07to join the rest of this crazy gang.
34:11She looks nuts.
34:12Welcome to the family, Joy.
34:14You'll fit right in.
34:22Looks like hiding in the woods has done wonders for Wobbly's progress.
34:26In more ways than one.
34:28I mean, this is basically the final sort of clear up now.
34:32Little bit of touching up to do with the paint and then I'm out of here.
34:35It's been probably one of the most enjoyable jobs I've done down here.
34:38Done for him over the years, to be honest with you, because he's basically just said to me, build me
34:42a cabin.
34:43And left me to it, which is great.
34:46Hopefully he likes it, but I'm pleased with the way it's turned out.
34:51Well, put it this way, if that was down the bottom of my garden, I'd be delighted.
34:54I'd love it down the bottom of my garden, I really would.
34:57It's nearly as big as my house where I live, so it's...
35:02The greatest thing for me this year, and I have been alone down here a lot, just to get on
35:06with it, which obviously gives you a lot more time.
35:09And so I've been able to focus a little bit more on myself and get back to where I need
35:12to be, and I feel a lot, a lot happier than I have been in the past.
35:16But it's years I've been here now, and yeah, I was in the dark places at some points, and you
35:21know, just being here, keeping me busy, keeping me going, it helped.
35:25You know, I have sort of woke up now and realised that, you know, I've got to start looking after
35:31myself a bit more.
35:34I've got my ladders away, my paint away, and I am out of here.
35:41I think the Man Cave is absolutely magnificent. We can go down there, me and Patty or Colsey, whatever, let's
35:47go down there, chill out.
35:49No one about, lovely views.
35:51Well, my ear done for someone, I can't see where I'm going.
35:53Anyway.
35:55It's going to be kind of my Yellowstone cabin.
35:58Now I've got it looking the business.
36:00What's that like, Colsey?
36:01Yeah, that spot on.
36:02It's the perfect spot to kick back with the oldest muckers I know.
36:06Tell you what, I'm not being funny.
36:08Whoopi's done a bloody good job.
36:10He has, to be fair.
36:11And take stock of the last few months.
36:15Here we are.
36:16Yeah.
36:17Another day, another dollar.
36:19Putty's moved out of Watford, he's down here now living up the road.
36:22Five months ago, I was living in Southend, never had a pot to piss in.
36:26Now, I'm living down here, my fucking tooth fell out, I've got enough money to buy a new tooth and
36:31I'm driving about in a BMW.
36:32All because, all because of this man.
36:34What I've found to be moving with the difference between maybe us, the normal fellas, is that when you get
36:39a chance, you grab it with both hands.
36:41It does, yeah.
36:42I wrap myself around it.
36:43Around it, yeah.
36:44When would you ever think, as a kid, you'd become an actor?
36:46He's been fucking acting all his life.
36:48Yeah, no, but when I was...
36:50All the fucking glasses have fell off.
36:52When I was nine or ten years old, we went, we were at Butlins as kids, like, and I was
36:57fucking, I was up there, weren't I, on the old stage, giving it all the old bollocks.
37:00Did you ever see him dance?
37:02He can't dance.
37:03Fucking shocking, mate.
37:04I was the bollocks.
37:05Finn, when we used to go...
37:06At Rolls-Royce, I was the bollocks, Colby.
37:08No, you weren't.
37:10I used to take the floor at Rolls-Royce every Friday night.
37:13The thing is, no one would be on the dance floor, up he goes fucking Peter Gordino, giving it the
37:18fucking...
37:18I used to do the old shuffle, didn't I?
37:19He was terrible, then.
37:21Was I?
37:23Looking at things in your life, would you ever think that you'd be the fellow that people would look up
37:28to for mental health and things like that?
37:29I ain't just started doing it, I've been doing it all my life, you know that.
37:32He's like an ambassador for mental health.
37:34Yeah, I love that side of it now though.
37:35Do you know what I mean? It's nice.
37:35I've taken it on, I think I'm in a position to be able to talk about it.
37:39Yeah, you are.
37:39You know, I've lost my wife and your mum.
37:42All I can express to people is how I've dealt with it and what it's done to me.
37:48Yeah.
37:48And if that helps any of them, then so be it.
37:52But I do believe when I keep swinging and all that, what I'm trying to say is, keep yourself occupied,
38:00keep yourself busy.
38:01Do you think of anything further than the next day? Or do you just take one day at a time?
38:06Put it this way, I know what I'm doing tomorrow and I start having panic attacks when I've got nothing
38:13planned.
38:13For me, I'm still filling up tomorrow to be able to sleep tonight.
38:20But I mean, we've all come a long way this year. We've all repaired, myself included.
38:26I feel that I've come on a long way in the last year.
38:30But to think that we're sitting here like this, you know what I mean? Like three old men like you.
38:35Until we're getting old, you've got a new set of teeth, my teeth are falling out and Vin's gone bald.
38:41Apart from that, we're all right.
38:43Yeah.
39:02That's the old wobbly.
39:03There you are.
39:04Right, Wobbs.
39:05I've been looking, guess what?
39:08Fucking done, ain't I?
39:09Finished?
39:09I'm done. You'll like it. Nice of you.
39:11Well done, mate. Well done.
39:12No, good, yeah. So, yeah, I'm there. Finished.
39:16Looks like I worked you hard this year, son.
39:17Well, yeah, it's been that.
39:19But yeah, no, it's been great. It's been great.
39:25It's been an emotional journey, son.
39:27And on that note, yeah, I'd like to say thank you to you, mate, really, to be honest with you.
39:33That's been good. I've got to say it for you.
39:35Not the last bill, is it?
39:36No, I'll tell you what it is.
39:38I'll give you that with pleasure. I won't get upset giving you that.
39:41What do you get a man who's got everything?
39:43When you can go and buy a Bentley on a whim, or you can go and buy two farms down
39:48the road, because you can.
39:49I guess life has got a different meaning.
39:52So I think when someone gives him the little trinkets, the little, I suppose, stuff from the heart,
39:59it probably means something a little bit more than just going to buy something, because you can.
40:05So I've been with you now for four-odd years now, and I didn't know what the heck to buy
40:10you.
40:10But I don't know if you remember, we went down to the lake house, and me and you had a
40:14little walkabout,
40:16and we was talking about legacies.
40:19You'd just lost your mum, I'd lost me dad.
40:22What was left behind, right? You know what I mean?
40:25People just leave stuff behind, don't they?
40:26And you picked the stick up.
40:29Well, I picked it up.
40:31I don't know if you remember, but we called this the Celeste stick.
40:35And I took it to our mate Simon.
40:37Oh, mate.
40:38I thought, get you one with a little trout on it, right?
40:42Hopefully this will remind you, A, of me, and B, of your lake house.
40:49Yeah, and that is the actual stick.
40:51It's come back to life.
40:53Thanks, mate.
40:54The stick's beautiful, you know.
40:56It's another one from my collection.
40:58It's a fish.
40:59It's the first fish I've had.
41:00Brown trout.
41:01Yeah, it's lovely.
41:03It's got Celeste in it.
41:05It's got her DNA.
41:07You know, she is a big part of this, and she always will be.
41:10And the good thing is, because it's a two-piece one, you can put it in your suitcase.
41:14Take it to America.
41:14Take it to America, and it'll always remind you of the lake house.
41:17You like it?
41:18Yeah, that's fine.
41:19And I thought the trout, you ain't got one with trout, have you?
41:21Yeah, I ain't got a fish one.
41:22You've helped me through some tough times, mate, and I mean that.
41:24But we've helped each other as well.
41:26I really do, yeah.
41:26We've helped each other.
41:27When we first met, I was in a dark place, and so was you.
41:31But, as you say, you kept me swinging, mate.
41:33You kept me punching.
41:34And I'm in a lot better place now, thanks to you.
41:36I feel like I've kind of...
41:40I'm getting better.
41:41Yeah.
41:41You know what I mean?
41:42My journey's starting to...
41:43You know, you're doing this and feeling great in yourself and everything.
41:47So, thanks for this, mate.
41:49I'll treasure it and our memories.
41:51And I'll tell you what, that's from my heart, mate.
41:53I mean that.
41:54Thank you, mate.
41:54It really does.
41:55I don't know what I could get you.
41:56I really don't.
41:56All right?
41:57All the back for the future.
41:58And I hope the...
42:00I hope this lake house and manor house...
42:02You appreciate it.
42:03I thank you for all the work, but I can't get it.
42:05It's too much for me now, mate.
42:06All that.
42:06Your train's a little bit too quick for me now.
42:08It's not a train.
42:09It's a rocket, Wobbs.
42:10Exactly.
42:11But hopefully, you'll have something for me next summer.
42:13Yep.
42:14You know where I am.
42:14Give me a ring.
42:15Give me a ring.
42:15Yeah.
42:16But thank you.
42:17Beautiful.
42:18Well done, mate.
42:18All right.
42:19Cheers, Wobbs.
42:22All right.
42:22See you later.
42:23See you, Wobbs.
42:23Take care.
42:25He bought me a knife.
42:26And every time you look at it, it reminds me of Vincent.
42:30Sometimes I want to throw it out the fucking window.
42:32But in general, I think of that moment that he gave it to me, and I think of the...
42:36It sounds crass and silly, but I think of hopefully the love that it was given.
42:41It was a lovely gift.
42:43It meant a lot to me.
42:45So hopefully, this stick will do the same for him.
42:47Thanks, Wobb.
42:48I'll tick the Wobbly box this year, because I think Wobbly's in a much, much better place.
42:54And it's been a good season for repair.
42:56Yeah.
42:58Finn.
42:59By the way, I ain't paid Simon for it, so you might want to go and see him.
43:03All right?
43:05You bastard.
43:08See you, Wobbs.
43:09See you, Wobbs.
43:12Friendship.
43:13Can't buy it.
43:23Now the manor house is done, I can finally say my plans come together.
43:29That's a bit of vision, wasn't it, hon?
43:31Look at that.
43:31Yeah.
43:32I mean, that is stunning.
43:34And that's what it deserved.
43:36That's our legacy there, hon.
43:37Yeah.
43:38That'll be good for another 50 years, that.
43:39Lo and behold, four or five months, you've just restored this whole area.
43:43I can't believe how quick.
43:44Not only the house, but this whole area.
43:47The barn.
43:48Everything.
43:49Blondie's spot on.
43:51From the beach to the log cabins, all the lads have stepped up this summer.
43:58Whilst here at the manor, the grounds are landscaped to perfection, with an entrance and a helipad
44:04that means business.
44:07No stone unturned, really, have you?
44:09Sometimes it, like, the emotion, it, like, makes you want to cry.
44:12That you've actually achieved something.
44:14Look at that.
44:14What a joint effort.
44:15Look at that.
44:16I always looked up at my dad.
44:18He had his own, albeit a small building company.
44:22I was always going to be my own boss.
44:24Did I think I was going to be a professional footballer?
44:26Did I think I was going to be an actor?
44:27No.
44:28But I'd have ended up with either my own building firm or something.
44:32Saying that I have.
44:33I have.
44:34All I do is build farms.
44:38And I'm getting quite good at them.
44:41Here you go, hon.
44:42Woo!
44:44Oh, wow.
44:46The manor house has come up shining.
44:50With every mortal detail just how I imagined, plus a party barn that's fit for purpose.
45:00Great.
45:01I like the colour scheme.
45:03Beautiful, hon.
45:04You've done such a great job.
45:06Should have been an interior designer.
45:08Oh, my God.
45:09When the manor house came up, really, it was too good an opportunity to let go.
45:13It borders the farmhouse and the lake house, so it joins up.
45:18I can walk around it all now for the rest of my life.
45:20When the boys come in or people come over, they can stay there as well.
45:24And the views are out of this world.
45:25They're some of the best views in West Sussex.
45:28This is a beautiful little smallholding anyway, but that just sets it off.
45:33Well, it's the peacefulness up there.
45:34Yeah, but that view is just insane.
45:36That's what I mean.
45:37It's the tranquility here, isn't it?
45:39What I couldn't understand is, from down there, you look up and it's magnificent.
45:43Why you would paint your house grey, that's what I couldn't get over.
45:47You know, it's the white houses up on the hill.
45:49The white works, actually.
45:50I was concerned.
45:51I know you was all concerned, but I don't know why.
45:53I know you want to be in charge of everything, but it is a collaboration.
45:57Sometimes the collaborations do work.
46:00Me and the mirror, hon.
46:01I have a board meeting with me and the mirror and away I go.
46:04Yes, I know.
46:05But can I be more involved in the lake house?
46:08Because that is the one that we've been waiting for.
46:09Let's go then.
46:10Let's go and have a look what you want to get involved with.
46:12OK.
46:15Success for me is to complete something that you set out to do.
46:19And then, you get after the next thing.
46:26It's no good sitting there, winning the FA Cup final and saying, that's that.
46:32Now, what I do, I go, yeah, I've enjoyed that.
46:34Then I'm looking, now what am I going to do?
46:37What's the next one?
46:38Let's go, baby.
46:39Like I have to ask.
46:41After a summer of hard graft, it doesn't end with the manor.
46:46Now my vision for this little corner of West Sussex is well and truly locked in.
46:52The only thing to do now, get the diggers out, down the hill, straight to the lake house.
46:56We're going to get started.
46:59Coming in.
47:06Come in.
47:08Get this started.
47:16Let's go, boys.
47:18Let's do it.
47:20Two and a half years.
47:26Let's go, Glen.
47:28Let's go.
47:29Let's get in the shit and muck and go again.
47:31And I'll tell you when it stops.
47:33When it stops.
47:35Rock and roll, baby.
47:40Can I go now?
48:05Can I go now?
48:07To the city.
48:18Let's go.
48:20Now let's go, терри.
48:22Let's go.
48:23Now let's go.
48:23You
