00:00What do you take? What's your takeaway on canned production when it comes to the Olympics? Are you a fan
00:06of it? Would you rather have it live or is it impossible?
00:09I think it's impossible in this day and age. I mean, and you see it because at least in NBC,
00:15we put it all on live. And I think the tide started to shift in about 2000 in Sydney when
00:24information started circulating so much more quickly.
00:27And at that point, NBC was still holding a lot of the events until primetime because that was where the
00:36commercials were worth the most money. And that was where our obligation was to get the ratings to be able
00:41to pay for the contract.
00:43But that was, I think, the tipping point because people knew or were starting to know. And so ever since
00:49then, it's been a topic of discussion. That's why an Olympics, for instance, in the Western time zone, it's going
00:56to be fantastic because everything's going to be live.
00:59A lot's going to be in primetime. So the next Olympics is going to be pretty special. But it's just
01:04you got to roll with the times, I suppose.
01:06Absolutely. L.A. 28 is going to be off the chain. I can't wait for it.
