00:00Welcome to this special edition of the Builders Daily videocast, where we look at evolving edge of operational excellence, digital
00:07transformation, and builder leadership.
00:09I'm John McManus. Today, I'm joined by Bob Swainhart, General Manager for the Enterprise Solutions Group at Constellation.
00:17We're building off the energy and insights from Build Smarter Customer Conference last fall,
00:22where Bob and the Constellation team engaged closely with leading builders, trade partners, and technology innovators.
00:30Our conversation today will explore what's emerging, what's transforming, and what's next.
00:36Right, and Bob, you struck a note earlier on of optimism that sometime in the next several months, we're going
00:42to see an inflection and a turn and an ignition of demand.
00:46And I'd love it when home building goes from kind of a fetal position, really trying to just mitigate the
00:51risk of what they've been doing into a more aggressive mode.
00:54Then they have the kind of problems they want to have, and Constellation and your team are there for both
01:00kinds, really.
01:00But what's the one thing you and your team are especially excited about as you look through 2026 and beyond?
01:07Yeah, I think that, you know, as we look forward to, you know, obviously a more favorable sales cycle and
01:17the expanded use of technology, et cetera,
01:21it's really about, you know, leveraging this incredible amount of data in a timely fashion to be able to pivot
01:32and make decisions quickly.
01:33And ultimately, that's what, you know, that's what decision makers and executives want.
01:42They want the ability to make quick decisions so that they are not, you know, doing something silly for two
01:51weeks, four weeks, six weeks, six months, a year, longer than they should have.
01:55And when you think about the automation of complex manual processes, the elimination of data silos, and the impact that
02:06that has on an organization,
02:08it means that everybody in the organization has an opportunity to be focused on not just creation of manual reports
02:19or updating of some spreadsheets somewhere.
02:23They're actually freed up from all of that tedious work and able to focus primarily on margin protection, sales, marketing,
02:37brand awareness, customer experience,
02:40things that really impact the business and their reputation and the operational efficiency, profitability, performance, et cetera.
02:49And so, you know, I think that, and you asked the question earlier, what's a builder look like in the
02:57future?
02:59I think it would be incredible if we can get to the point where the employees, you know, the creation
03:07of that data,
03:08the day-to-day work stuff is as automated as possible.
03:11And they're all focused 100% on helping the business grow, be more profitable, be more efficient, effective,
03:19and drive incredible referrals from the customers and have great customer SAT scores.
03:25Like that's the end game, I think, for all of us.
03:28But it starts with this creation of standard, reliable data that allows them to make decisions quickly.
03:39Yes, and it's just so clear that with partners like Constellation Home Builder Systems,
03:44it's about the home building operation and the people in it being able to do what they do best,
03:50rather than the things that aren't core competencies.
03:53And then they can do that better.
03:55Really, what they get to do is focusing on how each can bring the most value.
04:01Bob, thank you so much for sharing these insights today.
04:04Thank you, John.
