00:00Just a year later, they introduced the Pinnacle lineup of processors which featured the same architecture as the Fury lineup,
00:06but with some key differences.
00:08First and foremost, all of the models now featured PCI Express Gen 3 support, which allowed them to reach significantly
00:15higher frame rates in our testing.
00:17Not only that, but they were also built on a smaller 12 nanometers process node, which allowed them to run
00:24cooler and use less power.
00:26Unfortunately, AMD didn't do a great job at marketing these chips.
00:30Hence why I'm not sure if many people even know that they exist.
00:33The last thing that I want to talk about today is the latest iteration of AMD's gaming APOS, the Renoir
00:39lineup of processors.
00:40These are currently the best single-chip solution for gamers who do un-want to deal with a discrete graphics
00:46card.
00:46Not only do they feature faster single-core and multi-core performance compared to their predecessors, but they also feature
00:53faster memory and support for faster PCI Express storage devices.
00:57Plus, they feature a new media engine which allows them to decode 8K60 videos without any help from the CPU.
01:05Their integrated graphics are also a massive improvement over the last gen, thanks in no small part to the fact
01:11that they re-now based on RDNA 2 instead of RDNA 3.
01:14We haven't tested all of them yet, but from what we've tested so far, I can say with confidence that
01:20AMD is finally starting to hit their stride with APOS.
01:23We've seen this reflected in sales figures as well, as a PSR becoming a much more popular choice for budget
01:28gamers.
01:29Either way, it's clear that AMD is serious about competing in the low end of the market,
01:34and I got to say that I am impressed with how far they've become since the days of the old
01:39X2, 3,100+.
01:42Who would have thought that a simple integrated GPU could become so powerful?
01:47I remember back in the day when people thought that IGPs would never be good enough for gaming.
