00:00If I told you right now that there is still a Division 1A basketball team that is undefeated,
00:07and you tricked me in my word, where do you think they'd be ranked in the top 25?
00:12And I'm not going to say the team until after.
00:15No, no, I remember St. Joe's being a smaller school,
00:18and when they were undefeated for that long time with Phil Martelli as the coach,
00:22they were in the top, I think they were in the top seven or eight before teams.
00:26So, seven, eight, anywhere in six to ten.
00:29So, bottom part of the top ten, that type of thing?
00:32Yeah.
00:32So, Ben Roethlisberger's alma mater, Miami of Ohio, is 28-0.
00:39They're the only undefeated team left in Division 1A basketball.
00:44Now, to be fair, they play teams like you see there on that list,
00:47Ohio, Toledo, Western Michigan, but they dominate.
00:52They're the best team in that conference, and they are 28-0.
00:56They are currently ranked.
00:57There are two different polls.
00:59You know, the coach's poll and the AP poll.
01:01In one of the polls, they're ranked 25th.
01:04They just made it for the first time this year into the top 25.
01:08The other poll, they also just made it in.
01:10They're 21st, meaning there's the possibility that if they go undefeated in the regular season,
01:16okay, and they somehow get upset in their conference tournament, that they could be, make it up, 33-1 and
01:26not get into the NCAA tournament.
01:29That's on the table because of who they play and their strength of schedule.
01:34Yeah, but that's shameful because their schedule's not their fault.
01:37They're dominating teams.
01:39I'm not saying they should be, again, up above Arizona and Duke and Michigan.
01:43Not those teams, but I believe they should be higher.
01:46Like, they should not be behind teams with seven losses.
01:49That's a mistake.
01:50And that's a team you probably don't want to see in the tournament because they know how to win.
01:53You don't want to play teams that really know how to win in the tournament.
01:55And it's the old kind of stereotype.
01:57It's like, you know they play smart fundamental basketball.
02:01You know, you go up against a better athletic team, which is what they face in the tournament.
02:05It's like the whole Pete Carroll thing in Princeton.
02:07He never really did much in the tournament, but he was a team nobody wanted to play with the backdoor
02:11cuts,
02:12you know, taking every second of the shot clock and playing smart basketball.
02:16Just interesting to me that they're 28-0, and they just now got into the top 25 this week.
02:22And if they don't win the conference tournament, there's a good chance they don't get in
02:26because the strength of schedule is not going to be anywhere close to the teams that are going to get
02:29in.
