00:02Supporters and those close to Ugandan opposition figure, Kizadeh Sije, are growing increasingly
00:07concerned about his health. Sije has been behind bars for more than a year now, and
00:12his wife says his physical condition is getting worse.
00:20Slowly his health is deteriorating and General Mozi keeps threatening and saying he's a dead
00:25man walking. I will kill him. So their intentions are clear. It is to kill him. Keeping him in
00:35prison, denying him bail is part of that intention to kill him. But you know what?
00:40It is God who gives life. It's God who takes it away. We will all die one day.
00:46Back in November 2024, Sije was abducted by armed men,
00:51before appearing a few days later at a military court. His lawyer says he's being unfairly targeted.
00:58So the delay in starting Dr. Bessije and Obed Lutare's case is not on the defence. It is on
01:08the prosecution. We also worry about Dr. Bessije's health. Anybody can see for himself that he looks
01:16frail. He's getting sick so often in prison. We do not know what has changed in that environment.
01:25But it's certainly compromising his health.
01:29Bessije has been rejected bail, a string of ties. Human rights groups and the opposition argue
01:35he's facing political persecution.
