00:00Welcome back. Global transportation company FedEx has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. Court of International Trade seeking a
00:08refund for President Donald Trump's emergency tariffs.
00:11This is one of the highest profile moves to recover funds since the U.S. Supreme Court last week deemed
00:18the tariffs illegal.
00:22More than $175 billion in U.S. tariff collections are subject to potential refunds after the U.S. Supreme Court
00:30last Friday ruled that Trump overstepped his authority by using the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, or IEEPA.
00:39FedEx and its logistics arm served as importer of record on goods subject to IEEPA tariffs.
00:47However, FedEx did not provide the dollar value of the refund it is seeking.
00:52In its lawsuit, the company named U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the agency's commissioner Rodney Scott, and the United
00:59States of America as defendants.
