00:00Anyway, that's Mike Tannenbaum on ESPN talking about if you're Howie Roseman there in Philadelphia
00:05and you're auctioning off A.J. Brown, you just play the Patriots and the Bills off each other
00:08and get the highest offer.
00:10Are you entering that bidding, Mass?
00:11Oh, sure.
00:12Yeah, I'll enter that bidding.
00:13Yes.
00:14Now, again, I'm drawing a line somewhere, though.
00:18If I'm taking on the contract, I'm not giving up a first-round pick.
00:22So, you know, decide or divide that how you want.
00:26You know, it's one or the other.
00:27You don't get both.
00:28So now, is number 62, if that's where the Patriots are going to pick in the second round,
00:33or, you know, is there 63?
00:35Is that going to be enough to get the player?
00:38I don't know.
00:38You might have to do some maneuvering to match it.
00:41But I'm not taking on the $30 million a year or thereabouts and giving them a first-round
00:46pick for a guy that I think is starting to slide.
00:49So I don't know how you feel about the player.
00:51I like the player.
00:52I've always liked the player.
00:53That last playoff game scares me a little bit.
00:55But if I were Philly, I'd do exactly what Tannenbaum said.
00:58I think that is the right approach for them.
01:00If I'm the Patriots, though, I'm not getting, like, ridiculously obsessed with it.
01:05Because if they want a pick and someone to take the money, my answer is no.
01:09He was such a puke these last couple of seasons.
01:11Where, as you pointed out before, Mike, they were winning.
01:13They won a championship.
01:15That it's just such a turnoff.
01:16There's still talent there.
01:17I know the report with Rabel and all of that, blah, blah, blah.
01:20But, yeah, I mean, maybe a third.
01:22I could be talked into a second.
01:24But I'm with Maz.
01:25I'm not giving you a high pick and taking that salary on.
01:29So I'd be in on A.J. Brown.
01:31But I've learned that just because a receiver particularly, but any pro athlete, but it seems to happen with these
01:39receivers, just because they turn into a complete douchebag somewhere doesn't mean you can't get them on their best behavior
01:46for a year or two after.
01:47We've just seen that over and over and over again, where a guy just burns bridges, you know, outlives his
01:56welcome.
01:56And then he, Randy Moss, you know, I mean, there's just a million examples of them.
01:59Murray Dillon.
02:00I mean, running back.
02:01But, you know, yes, exactly, Murray.
02:03And Steph Diggs, for that matter.
02:05You know, like, he was kind of ran himself out of town in Buffalo, ran himself out in Minnesota.
02:11Who the heck knows what happened in Houston?
02:13They weren't that interested in him in Houston.
02:15And keeping him, he comes here and he's like the perfect guy.
02:18And so, just because a guy has trouble somewhere doesn't mean that you can't get him.
02:24So, like, I'm not going to rule out A.J. Brown because he turned into a malingerer there in Philadelphia.
02:31That's just a long way of saying.
02:32Doesn't he have a medical thing, too?
02:33Isn't that why Tennessee didn't want to pay him in the first place?
02:36Because didn't he have, like, some sort of knee-on-knee thing?
02:39I thought he had a health consideration.
02:40I don't remember.
02:41Either way, I'd be in on A.J. Brown.
02:43But I think I've come around maybe to you.
02:46I wouldn't do, you shouldn't have to do 31st.
02:48You know, if you're auctioning off a player, quote-unquote, as we all know, often what happens
02:54is there's not a bidding war.
02:56It sort of, like, goes in reverse.
