00:16Alex Barth tell us what you know about Draymond Jones so the big thing that stands out to me
00:22about Draymond Jones from a Patriots point of view uh we we talked when we were looking at edge
00:26guys for the Patriots free agency draft that like six foot three 250 260 pound profile like athlete
00:34right just get off Draymond Jones comes in at 280 so he's much bigger than the kind of player we
00:39thought they were going to target doesn't have like you mentioned uh before I came in here that
00:43historic success against the run but a guy that has the size to play it and can play on both
00:48sides
00:48a lot of these edge rushers now specialize playing one side or the other he's somebody that's moved
00:53around played off both tackles so a guy I'm guessing that that they hope can play on three
00:58downs can fill a couple of roles I know Andrew Callahan had reshared a report of his from the
01:03combine that this might not be it for them at the edge in free agency they might double up
01:07he makes sense if they go out they add another guy right and that guy's kind of the anchor pass
01:12rusher
01:13now he's somebody you're going to put in and mix in and have them handle different responsibilities
01:17based on the matchup I think he's a good player but he's a he's a 1b to me in the
01:21pass rush and
01:22they still need that top guy so he's help he's not a centerpiece paid him a lot of money
01:28yeah well so I 13 million a year I didn't see when I was coming in have we seen the
01:31guarantee yet
01:32no that we haven't and there and that's the the devil is always in the details right so I'm curious
01:37what what that number is uh no like he's a starter he's I don't mean to say that like he's
01:41you know
01:41some role player I think he's going to be on the field a lot so who gets replaced
01:46I don't it's tough I think he's more a kind of player that they didn't have last year you know
01:52I think some of the snaps probably come from Landry some of the stuff that he's going to do I
01:57think
01:58Harold Landry was doing but he's he's a different kind of player it's not a one for one and that's
02:03what I think is important to remember I know some people had brought up that it's been what is this
02:07the first offseason in three years where there's continuity on the coaching staff in front office
02:11so a lot of the times when we do these offseasons we look at we did this with Bill for
02:1520 years
02:16what's the historic precedent right well we know this guy fits in this role this guy fits in this
02:20role as you're changing coaches as you're making changes in the front office it's harder to do that
02:25because you don't know what they want so yeah we have some precedent in terms of what Vrabel wants
02:29and what Ryan Cowden's looking for and all of that but it's also they only had one year and they
02:35still may be adding guys it you know in molds that they just didn't get a chance to add last
02:40year
02:40that we don't associate so probably some snaps from Landry but I think this is new I think this
02:45is a different kind of role a little bit in the defense than maybe they had last year
