00:01The European Commission has called on Washington to honor its commitments and provide full clarity
00:07following a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that struck down some of President Trump's most sweeping
00:13tariffs. Trump lashed out at the court decision and said on Saturday that he wants a global
00:19tariff of 15 percent, up from the 10 percent he announced a day earlier. The European Commission
00:26said the current situation is not conducive to delivering fair, balanced and mutually beneficial
00:33transatlantic trade and investment. The two sides sealed a trade deal in August last year that
00:39imposes a 15 percent tax on 70 percent of European goods exported to the United States.
00:46A deal is a deal, the European Commission said. EU products must continue to benefit from the most
00:53competitive treatment with no increases in tariffs beyond the clear and all-inclusive
00:58ceiling previously agreed, the Commission added. The value of EU-U.S. trade in goods and services
01:04amounted to 1.7 trillion euros in 2024.
