00:00US President Donald Trump says the European Union has yet to offer a fair trade deal.
00:05He wants Brussels to either agree to better terms or pay whatever we say they have to pay.
00:14The European Commission dismissed on Monday reports suggesting it was willing to accept a 10% blanket US tariff as speculative and insisted no deal has been reached.
00:24Brussels maintained its firm objection to what it calls unjustified and illegal US tariffs.
00:32The EU currently face steep US tariffs 50% on steel and aluminium, 25% on cars and parts and 10% on most other goods.
00:44These could rise further in July after a temporary pause.
00:47Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik earlier said the EU will likely be among the last trade deals wrapped up as Washington rushes to secure agreements with other partners.
00:58Until next week.
