00:14The cooperative collected RM50.74 million in fees for the university's Master of Education and Postgraduate Diploma in Education programs
00:24under a collaboration agreement that was deemed invalid because it lacked required approval from the finance minister
00:30and was signed by a former vice chancellor without proper authority.
00:35The audit found that RM32.36 million in fee revenue was not fully accounted for
00:40and some remittances, including RM0.87 million received through EPF and the National Higher Education Fund Corporation,
00:48were not recorded as UKM revenue.
00:51In addition, RM21.02 million in 2024 fees was submitted late, with delays of up to 291 days,
00:59while RM5.32 million collected over one to three years had not been remitted to UKM by the end of
01:052024.
01:06The report also identified conflicts of interest as five UKM officers held key positions in the cooperative managing programs.
01:14UKM has acknowledged the irregularities, launched investigations, made revenue adjustments,
01:20began recovering outstanding amounts, and took steps to restructure oversight and potentially terminate the agreement.
