At the Board of Peace event in Washington, U.S. President Donald Trump shared a humorous and eye-catching recollection from his previous visit to China, joking about the identical height of Chinese soldiers in a military display arranged by President Xi Jinping. Trump quipped, “If they put their helmets down, you could have played pool on the top of their heads,” drawing laughter from the audience as he described his strong rapport with Xi ahead of a planned April visit to Beijing.

00:00I thought this would be easy because I have a very good relationship with President Putin.
00:04I have a very good relationship with President Xi.
00:06I'm going to be going to China in April.
00:08It's going to be a wild one.
00:10I said, but we have to put on the biggest display you've ever had in the history of China.
00:15You know, last time I went to China, President Xi, he treated me so well,
00:20he gave me a display.
00:21I never saw so many soldiers all the same height,
00:24exactly the same height within a quarter of an inch.
00:27You can do that when you have 1.4 billion people, you know, lots of shoulders.
00:32Everybody was went about one eighth of an inch the same height.
00:36I said, if they put their helmets down, you could have played pool on the top of their heads.
00:42And it was pretty amazing. But I said, you got to top it.
00:46He said, I'll top it. We're going to top it.
00:48We're going to have a lot of the people.
00:50Most of the fake news back there is going to be going.
00:53So we have Steve has done a great job.
00:57And then a little bit later on, we brought Jared.
01:00And Jared was responsible for the Abraham Accords, which is incredible.
01:04Nobody else could have done that.
01:06A very smart guy.
01:07And we're making Jared an envoy also.
01:11Envoy of peace.
01:12They're both envoys of peace.
01:14And you couldn't get too — I tell you what, I watch these two guys.
01:17I say, at least we're covered from an IQ standpoint.
01:20These two guys walk into a room. And — but people like them both.
01:24You know, they're good people. And they like them both.
01:27And they've had some very good meetings.
01:29They've had some very interesting meetings having to do with — as you know,
01:34Iran is a hotspot right now in their meeting.
01:36And they have a good relationship with the representatives of Iran.
01:39And, you know, good talks are being had.
01:41It's proven to be, over the years, not easy to make a meaningful deal with Iran.
01:46We have to make a meaningful deal. Otherwise, bad things happen.
01:50But we have to make a meaningful deal.
01:52But they have a great relationship with the representatives of Iran.
01:55They have a great relationship with the other one that they're really working on now.
01:59Because so many of these — I mean, as an example, Kosovo, Serbia — I did that one.
02:06Could you stand up, if any of you guys are — when you're here — just stand up for a
02:09second.
02:10Kosovo, Serbia. Stand up.
02:13What a job. Thank you very much. We appreciate it. So good.
02:18And you're getting along. And when you don't get along, you'll call me.
02:21And we'll get it solved, right? We'll get it solved.
02:25Thank you very much. Really good.
02:27And then, again, Pakistan and India. That was a big one.
02:29And just — I think you should actually stand. Come, please. Stand just for a second.
02:35Pakistan and India. Thank you very much.
02:37And Prime — I spoke to Prime Minister Modi. He's excited.
02:41He's watching us right now. Egypt and Ethiopia.
02:46We're going to get that — you know, there's a little dam that got built.
02:49A little dam, like maybe the largest dam in the world.
02:53Built and financed, of course, by the United States brilliantly.
02:57And having a little trouble getting water to the Nile.
03:01It's not — that's a tough situation. But we're going to get that solved.
03:06Armenia and Azerbaijan. We talked about.
03:09And again, thank you, fellas, very much. Great job. Great job. Thank you.
03:15Cambodia and Thailand.
03:18So incredible what you did that you — you got together and it all worked out.
03:22They're watching — they're watching right now on closed circuit.
03:25Thank you very much. And thank you.
03:28That was a big one — Cambodia and Thailand.
03:30These are nasty fighters, I have to tell you.
03:33These fighters are nasty.
03:37Now we talk about — you talk nasty fighter.
03:41You're nice guys compared to this — Congo and Rwanda.
03:46That was — and we've got them pretty peaceful.
03:50There's little flare-ups every once in a while.
03:52I'll get a call once a week.
03:54Sir, there's a flare-up in the Congo again.
03:57We'll get it straightened out. Right, Susie?
03:59We'll get it straightened out.
04:02And Israel, as you know, with — you could say Israel in numerous countries,
04:06if you want to really know the truth.
04:07But Israel and Iran — and we'll see where that goes.
04:11But when you think of Israel, we have — we've done — the biggest thing of all,
04:15we have peace in the Middle East right now.
04:16That's bigger than — people said it couldn't be done.
04:19For 3,000 years, they've been talking about the Middle East.
04:22They said it couldn't be done.
04:25And you look at what's happened in Gaza.
04:28And one of the keys to it was when we took those beautiful, magnificent —
04:33we just ordered 22 more of them — updated model.
04:37The B-2 bombers are incredible.
04:39I never understood the B-2 bomber.
04:41I'd watch — it's a wing.
04:42And I've never quite understood that, Johnny.
04:45I'd look at it.
04:46I'd say, it was beautiful.
04:47But what does it do?
04:47It carries very big bombs.
04:50And it went into Iran.
04:52And it totally decimated the nuclear — nuclear potential.
04:57And when it did — when it decimated that,
05:01all of a sudden, we had peace in the Middle East.
05:03Because nobody — there was a black cloud hanging over the Middle East.
05:06And if that wasn't done, that cloud would have been there.
05:09And countries like Saudi Arabia, countries like Qatar —
05:14countries like — nobody could have signed.
05:15You would have had that threat.
05:17Nobody could have had — you couldn't have had peace in the Middle East.
05:20So now we may have to take it a step further, or we may not.
05:23Maybe we're going to make a deal.
05:24You're going to be — you're going to be finding out over the next probably 10 days.
05:29But this meeting today is proof with determined leadership.
05:32Nothing is impossible.
05:33It's possible.
