00:00Hamzah Zainuddin's offer to lead a political reset movement after being expelled from Bersatu
00:06was made after careful consideration, not out of personal ambition to become the nation's top leader,
00:12says Indra Makota MP Saifuddin Abdullah.
00:16He said Hamzah never harbored dreams of becoming party president or prime minister,
00:21despite his background as a former rugby captain, corporate executive and senior government minister.
00:27Saifuddin linked Hamzah's stance to a hadith of Prophet Muhammad which forbids seeking positions of power
00:33except in certain circumstances for the public good.
00:37He also drew a parallel with the story of Prophet Yusuf who offered to manage the nation's treasury
00:43because of his competence and integrity during a crisis not out of greed for power.
00:49According to Saifuddin, Hamzah's decision to leave the decayed old house to build a stronger one
00:55is not motivated by personal political survival, but is a strategic move to foster a more mature
01:02and stable political landscape.
01:04He said the reset movement aims to build a new national consensus that genuinely unites people
01:10of all races, religions and regions while calling for reform of institutions, systems and laws.
