00:00Let's spend the rest of this segment kind of going through ESPN's Bracketology with Joey Brackett.
00:07Now, Bracketology, folks, isn't a prophecy.
00:10It's a pressure meter, right?
00:12And pressure points are loud.
00:14Lenardi's guide line gives a lot of things.
00:18Ohio State, you know, obviously with their win, can they play themselves into a seed?
00:23Right now, Joel Lenardi has them first team out.
00:26While San Diego State could drop out, right now they're in, with the loss that they had last night.
00:32And that's where bubble is in one sentence.
00:35Win a game, you must have, you're in.
00:38Lose a game you can't afford, you could be out.
00:42So let's kind of talk about teams that I think could be in danger of being put on the cliff.
00:48USC is the team one of the last four buys.
00:50And Lenardi says another loss could put them in that nail-biting mode.
00:54And now look at the spot they're in.
00:57Illinois is coming to town soon.
00:58That's not a gentle test.
01:00Illinois is a top-tier team with every metric conversation.
01:04Let's go to the SEC.
01:06And a team like Missouri, for that matter.
01:09You know, Missouri is a first-four team out.
01:12And the stakes are simple.
01:13They hold Vanderbilt next.
01:15And if they win, they could probably put themselves right back into the field with their win.
01:19That's a direct, what we call, play-your-way-in kind of game.
01:23Let's get to another team.
01:26And let's go to Texas A&M.
01:28Right?
01:28Texas A&M is a last-four buy.
01:31And they've lost a couple in a row.
01:33And it could hit the five.
01:34And right now, they can go from a last-four buy to a team that's easily out.
01:40And it doesn't matter if it's a team that you think is a power team or not.
01:45There's going to be other teams that can be put on this.
01:47Boise State is an example that they have to get some last-ass effort to get in.
01:51Then you get to the wildness of the A-10.
01:54A league that I think is really hard for the tournament committee to kind of figure out.
02:02Right?
02:03There's three teams at the top of that league you've got to consider.
02:06There's St. Louis.
02:08There's Dayton.
02:09And there's George Mason.
02:11Now, Dayton and George Mason need to get back into the conversation.
02:15So, they've got to get wins after wins and start stacking them really right off the bat and throughout the
02:23rest of the season.
02:24But then there's a team like St. Louis, who just took a hit and lost.
02:28And these are the type of games that you could be safe or you could be out.
02:32Now, if you look up on this bubble board, St. Louis is nowhere to be found.
02:39But that could change, folks, and that could change immediately if they start dropping games in the A-10, where,
02:47to me, that league, your losses count way worse than a team that's in a power conference who gets the
02:54majority of the at-large bids.
02:57So, what do we look at, or what does Joe Lenardi and everybody look at when they start picking out
03:02their brackets?
03:03We're talking about quads.
03:05And I feel like the committee lives on what we call quad one and quad two wins.
03:10Let's take an example like Michigan, right?
03:1310-0 and quad one and 9-1 and quad two on the NCAA net sheet.
03:18That's dominant.
03:19That's why you could survive an off night and still stay on that top line.
03:23Now, let's flip it to the bottom.
03:25Bubble teams.
03:26They don't get to survive anything.
03:28They need credible wins.
03:29And they can't stack bad losses.
03:33So, Illinois, USC coming up.
03:35Vanderbilt, Missouri.
03:36Ole Miss, Texas A&M.
03:37Boise State, Utah State.
03:39These are what we call, like, quad leverage games.
03:43Win one and you add oxygen.
03:46Lose one and then your resume now suffocates.
03:50And there's the teams that could have gotten themselves air by what they did last night.
03:56Florida continuing to play well.
03:58NC State blowing out Carolina.
04:01Miami and what John Lucas has done has been fantastic.
04:04SMU getting a big win versus a ranked team.
04:06And then, obviously, you know, Ohio State win over Wisconsin.
04:10And that's a clean example, right?
04:12You beat Ohio State.
04:13You can start to jump teams.
04:15Maybe next time Joe Lenardi and this bracketology came out before this game was played.
04:20So, next time Joey Brackets has it, you can easily say that Ohio State can go from first four out
04:26to last four in just because of that game.
04:29So, the teams you've got to watch, and you've got to watch a bunch of them, the one I'm going
04:33to highlight is San Diego State.
04:36That loss is going to hurt them.
04:39And they have a warning label that they make sure that they have to clean up exactly what they need
04:46to do.
04:46So, let's go.
04:46So, let's go.
