00:00Let's get into the news and notes here of the association where, Joe,
00:02we say to ourselves, if the players don't care, why should we care?
00:08And this is coming from a guy that I don't really watch too much NBA basketball.
00:10Bet it, win it, because it's easy because you just bet against the numbers.
00:13But once you get into the playoffs, they care and we care.
00:15The All-Star Game, they cared this year.
00:17You know why we cared?
00:18Most people watch the All-Star Game.
00:20But here's Mark Cuban, one of the stupidest takes you could possibly have.
00:23And sometimes I question his business merit where,
00:25why did you sell the Dallas Mavericks, which if you hold on to another five years,
00:28they probably would have doubled or tripled in value, but you sold.
00:31Well, Mark Cuban says, hey, they should just embrace the tanking,
00:34which means on opening day, three or four teams have a legitimate chance
00:37to win the NBA championship.
00:38The rest of the 27 teams should just throw in the towel for all 82 games
00:43and embrace it.
00:44Did I get that right, Mark Cuban?
00:45Huh, Joe?
00:47Yeah, yeah.
00:48Well, we talked about this yesterday on our Caffeinated Joe segment where,
00:52listen, I'll give him credit, though.
00:55His idea that, hey, you know what?
00:58People should forget about who wins or loses and just, you know,
01:01embrace the experience of the game.
01:04Experience, if I have teams tanking and I go to a game and spend my money, Donnie,
01:10and I'm watching a team get blown out by 40 points, that experience isn't great.
01:15But he also brought up the point where, listen, you can't make it impossible for teams
01:20to actually try to improve with your second apron taxes and everything else.
01:25They have made it virtually impossible to be able to improve your team outside of,
01:30you know what?
01:30I guess we got to wait for the draft, so let's lose as many games as possible.
