00:03Hey, it's People in 10. Let's hear it for the girl, because she's making her story at the
00:09Milan Winter Games. Box letter Alana Myers-Taylor is now the oldest woman to win a gold medal in
00:14the Monobob event, clocking in a 0.4 finish, a moment even she calls surreal. And she's no
00:20stranger to the Olympics. She previously medaled in Vancouver, Sochi, Pyeongchang, and Beijing.
00:26That makes her the most decorated Black Winter Olympian from Team USA, and the most decorated
00:31bobsledder in history. She could add even more to her arsenal on Sunday with the two-woman
00:37bobsled event. And did I mention she's also a mom? Yeah, you go, girl. You could hear a pin drop
00:46after Ilya Malinan's shocking free skate, where he fell multiple times and finished eighth overall.
00:51The quad god was supposed to bring home the gold. Easy. But now, he's speaking out, revealing that
00:57the pressure to perform has led to straight-up harassment, and his crash was inevitable.
01:02It's, you know, not a pleasant feeling to deal with all of these things, but it's what makes us
01:07human. It's what makes us really strong and brave. It's a lot to put on a 21-year-old who's
01:12never even
01:12been to the Olympics before this year. But luckily, his teammates are rallying around him, including
01:17Maxim Namav, who told people that Ilya is human first and an athlete second.
01:22We love him, and we support him, and it doesn't matter. None of the skating stuff is ever going to
01:28affect that. And in moments like this, it's how you respond that is the most important. And I think
01:35knowing him, he's definitely going to respond big.
01:39You learn more from losing than you do winning, so I think I'm definitely going to be able to learn
01:43a lot
01:44from this, so I can come back better and stronger.
01:47Stephen Colbert is calling out his employer and the FCC, and he is not missing his words.
01:53Because my network clearly doesn't want us to talk about this, let's talk about this.
01:59Let's break this down.
02:01Hey, McCoh, how's it going?
02:03Hey, Lizzie. Okay, so Colbert is going viral for this. What exactly happened?
02:08So Colbert said on Monday's episode of The Late Show that lawyers for CBS warned him he could not.
02:13air an interview with James Tallarico, a Texas Democrat running for Senate.
02:17CBS is denying this, but Colbert claims the lawyer said this is because of the Federal
02:21Communication Commission's warnings over its equal time rule, arguing that shows like Colbert's
02:27must provide equal airtime for candidates from different parties.
02:30But this kind of feels like a contradiction to people because late night and daytime talk shows
02:34have generally not had to worry about it.
02:37But just this month, the FCC opened an investigation into The View's interview with Tallarico,
02:41and it seems like under FCC Chairman Brendan Carr, that traditional exemption is changing.
02:47So, FCCU.
02:49Where does beef come from between Colbert and the FCC?
02:53In July, Colbert criticized Paramount's settlement with Donald Trump on The Late Show,
02:58and since then, there's been a flurry of back-and-forth developments, including the cancellation
03:02of his show.
03:03Carr is seemingly a Trump ally, as he referenced fake news in the past.
03:07The Late Show's last episode is in May, so it seems Colbert is not going down without
03:11a fight.
03:12No, he is not.
03:13And he's not giving up on that interview, either.
03:16Nope.
03:16It didn't air on CBS, but Colbert knows the rules don't apply to streaming.
03:21I promise you, if you go to our YouTube page, you'll find it.
03:25It's there, in its entirety, racking up millions of views.
03:29Lizzie, we are living in wild times.
03:32Well, thank you so much for the info.
03:33I'll talk to you later.
03:34Bye, Nicole.
03:36It's the most romantic day of the year, and now it's Maya Hawke's anniversary, after
03:41she tied the knot with musician Christian Lee Hudson in a surprise Valentine's Day ceremony
03:45in New York.
03:46Her famous parents, Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, were on hand for the big day, and call
03:50it a Hawkins High reunion, as the Stranger Things squad came together to celebrate their
03:55co-star, and her happily ever after.
03:58We also got a new photo from the Sussexes to celebrate the Day of Love.
04:02Harry and Meghan have a little ballerina on their hands.
04:05So not only is Lilibet following in her parents' footsteps, this is also a passion passed down
04:10through generations.
04:12Because Princess Diana took ballet classes as a young girl, too, and frequently visited
04:16the National Ballet in London.
04:18She also took years of secret dance lessons after joining the royal family, which gave
04:22her, and maybe now her granddaughter, a safe space to be herself.
04:28Ruba Willis is clapping back against her haters.
04:30It all started when she got some rude comments on this reel about all the things she's got
04:34to do as a single mom.
04:35She shares her daughter, who's two, with her ex.
04:38And as Luetta's sole provider, she says she works four jobs because she doesn't rely on
04:43her wealthy parents for a dime.
04:45No trust funds here, baby.
04:47But people still pushed her to recognize the privilege of having her famous family as a
04:50backup plan.
04:51You think?
04:52She owned up to it, saying she doesn't take her situation for granted, but wanted to share
04:56her own personal experience for those who might be able to relate.
05:01Our favorite stars pulled out all the stops for the American Black Film Festival Honors in
05:06LA this week.
05:07Angela Bassett's embellished blazer and thigh-high slit made us miss the 80s, while Kiki Palmer was
05:12Kiki Sheik in her 90s halter and choker.
05:14Loving that pixie, she does not miss.
05:17Jennifer Hudson brought the romance with her corset bodice, while Wumi Masako glowed in
05:22a gown softly draped over her baby bump.
05:24Congrats on your Best Supporting Actress Honor, Mama.
05:27Her sin is director Ryan Coogler, or should we say, Best Director?
05:31Yes, King!
05:31Wore a timeless tux alongside his wife, Zinzi.
05:34While Dwayne Johnson loosened up his buttons to show a little skin, he received the evening's
05:39Entertainment Icon Award, while F1's Danson Idris, who was on the show's
05:42and encountered as Best Supporting Actor, looked fly as ever.
05:47Shia LaBeouf traded his Mardi Gras beads for a jail sale after a wild night out in the
05:51Big Easy.
05:52An aggressive Shia was arrested near the French Quarter after police claimed he punched two
05:57men in a brawl at a local bar.
05:59The actor was booked on two counts of battery, then released after a virtual hearing hours
06:03later.
06:04Shia had been in New Orleans for multiple days to enjoy the Mardi Gras celebrations.
06:08That is, until it got out of hand, allegedly.
06:12We cannot stop talking about all the bombshells in the America's Next Top Model Netflix doc,
06:17from alleged sexual assault during filming and forced cosmetic procedures to fall out
06:22between the judges themselves.
06:23I realized Tyra would do anything for the success of her show.
06:27And it was successful.
06:29We all watched.
06:30So now, y'all have thoughts on what went down behind the scenes.
06:33The show already faced backlash for years, but the doc goes beyond the catwalk and sees
06:38Tyra finally speaking out.
06:40I haven't really said much, but now it's time.
06:43She does admit that sometimes things did go too far.
06:46I was rooting for you!
06:47We were all rooting for you!
06:49But it seems no one is really taking the blame.
06:52It was very, very intense.
06:53Fashion, fashion.
06:55But you guys were demanding it.
06:56And so we kept pushing.
06:58More.
06:58Why are we filming this?
07:00And more.
07:00So f***ing.
07:01And more.
07:04Now it's the sit down with Milo Ventimiglia.
07:06Hi, Milo.
07:07We got a sneak preview of your new film, I Can Only Imagine 2.
07:11When you found out your role included singing, were you excited or terrified?
07:15Uh, absolutely terrified, but I love a challenge.
07:19You know, singing and playing guitar and playing a kick drum with a tambourine on my heel and
07:23a harmonium all at the same time was not in my bag of tricks.
07:27So I kind of looked at that technical aspect of it.
07:30I'm like, okay, I don't necessarily need to learn how to play guitar.
07:34I just need to learn how to play three songs really well.
07:38Come on!
07:42One, two, one, two, three.
07:44Your character is based on a real-life guy who faced so many hardships.
07:48And we know you faced many of your own.
07:51It's been almost a year since you lost your home to the Los Angeles fires.
07:54Did you channel your own resilience while tackling this role?
07:57Absolutely, it would be hard not to.
08:00You know, the message, Tim's story in the film is very much about holding a healthy amount
08:07of grief with gratitude at the same time in equal measure.
08:12And, yeah, almost a year ago, my wife and I, we lost our home to the fires in Los Angeles.
08:18And two weeks later, our daughter was born.
08:20So, I mean, you have these two completely opposite feelings.
08:24You know, one, just like, what do we do with, well, kind of, what do we do?
08:28Um, but, you know, just, just heartbreak with absolute, uh, joy.
08:34And it would have been impossible to not put my own experience into this script.
08:39And eerily, they were just so aligned.
08:42You're never alone.
08:44You're about to be a father of two.
08:46How does fatherhood affect your performances?
08:48The well of understanding emotions and being able to convey them just bottoms out.
08:54And it's infinite.
08:55It's a pretty wild experience being able to, uh, to take that, uh, new fatherhood and,
09:01and new family and, and plug it into, uh, to my work.
09:06People featured your Gilmore Girls boys, Matt Zugri and Jared Padalecki.
09:10They said such sweet things about you.
09:12I'm Team Jess, funny enough.
09:14And always make a point to mention y'all's friendship, which we love.
09:17How does it feel to be forever bonded to such handsome fellas?
09:21I mean, listen, you know, I know that, uh, Logan and Jess and Dean,
09:25were kind of very spread apart in who they were as characters, but Mattie Zugri and Jared
09:33Padalecki couldn't be the best.
09:35I mean, they're the best guys.
09:36Just, just, they couldn't be any lovelier as human beings.
09:38And I think it's nice that, you know, more than 20 plus years later, we all still can talk
09:45about this show that we were growing up on and come together as, as grown men just to recognize
09:52that and still have loving words for one another.
09:55Jared and Milo and myself, we, you know, have that connection.
10:00Jared told us his daughter Odette and wife watch Gilmore Girls.
10:03How do you feel about your own daughter watching one day?
10:05What if she's Team Dean?
10:06I'd be way okay if my daughter eventually watched the show and she was Team Dean.
10:11I get it.
10:12Cause I'm Team Jared.
10:13So I get it.
10:15Okay.
10:15To end the segment, we're going to put 10 seconds on the clock.
10:18Tell everyone why they should check out.
10:20I can only imagine two.
10:21Ready?
10:22Go.
10:22I think you should go see.
10:24I can only imagine two, because you're going to be filled with goodness.
10:26And even though you're going through tough times in your life, you know, you have the
10:29strength to come through the other end and pass that on to somebody else.
10:33We'll see you next time.
