00:01In South Sudan, humanitarian conditions are now becoming increasingly tough
00:06as fighting in the country rages on.
00:11With basic resources dwindling, some residents are dying of hunger.
00:22People are hungry and they are suffering from diseases as well.
00:26So what is affecting us generally is lack of food and lack of hospital.
00:32The government visited us here and it has not brought anything.
00:36Many vulnerable people are dying of hunger.
00:42Fighting in Jonglen State has displaced tens of thousands of residents,
00:47some of whom are now in search of shelter and basic supplies.
00:54We fled from our land in Jonglen because of the clashes between SPLA in opposition
01:00and SPLA in government that conflict killed our vulnerable people and we fled up to here.
01:10After arriving here, hunger is the main thing, affecting us.
01:17Some hospital staff say they've been overwhelmed by the number of casualties.
01:22This resident lost three children as well as her husband.
01:29My message to both parties is to stop the fight
01:32and if they were to allow women in the negotiation,
01:35it would be much better because as women, we have suffered in this country.
01:42To be frank and sincere, I have lost my husband in this war.
01:46This generation has only little time to spend with their husbands on earth.
01:50These women whom you see here are widows
01:53and some of them have eventually lost their children in this war.
01:59But not long after,
02:01it descended into civil war between two rival generals,
02:05Salvaqir and Riyak Mashar.
02:07Thank you very much, sir.
