UN says dozens of civilians killed in north of South Sudan

On Friday, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Turk warned of the country’s deteriorating situation and called for urgent action to prevent a return to full-scale civil war.

00:08The United Nations missions in South Sudan said it was alarmed by surge in clashes in Abimnom County in the
00:15wrong wing administrative area near the border with Sudan.
00:19According to the mission, unidentified armed youth attacked the county headquarters, wounding at least 23 people.
00:25In a statement, UN said dozens of civilians and several local officials were reportedly killed in the fighting.
