Checkout this amazing visual of a bright vertical pillar of light that appears in the sky during freezing conditions in Mongolia.
Bagabandi Tumurkhuyag, from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, filmed the rare moment known as “diamond dust” as tiny ice crystals in the air reflected sunlight above a snow-covered forest.
The footage shows a glowing column rising upward while the crystals sparkle against the dark trees and hills.
Bagabandi says the "shining snow" phenomenon, often referred to by meteorologists as diamond dust or simply snow sparkle, is an optical event where tiny ice crystals in the air or on the ground reflect sunlight, creating a brilliant, glittering, or sparkling effect.
Viewers reacted to the natural display.
