00:00Dimitri Pricotko, CEO of Fit Immersion, thank you so much for being here with us.
00:06What you do is a virtual reality kit which allows people to bike, to travel the world without moving from
00:13their home.
00:15How does it work?
00:16So in fact the idea is to simulate an outdoor ride on a bike like when you are using a
00:26stationary bike at home, at gym, everywhere.
00:30When you can't go outside, in total immersion, using 360 degree filmed trucks around the world.
00:39So that's the difference, I mean what's the difference between sometimes you have screens on your bike, when you bike,
00:44what would be the difference with your system?
00:47The difference is that you can turn your head, look around, it's more immersive, it's really like you are in
00:56the place when you are riding.
00:59So you're wearing Googles basically?
01:01You are wearing Googles, right.
01:02And that's not difficult to ride a bike, wearing Googles and having this immersion around you?
01:08It's not difficult, well, we worked on the VR headset, we have our specific VR headset which is optimized for
01:19sport in terms of weight, in terms of comfort and it's cleanable.
01:24So we do our best to make a device compatible with sport.
01:32What's the benefits of that system?
01:36The benefit is the motivation.
01:39The motivation to finish the track which we started.
01:43Like for example, if we climb Mont Venture, we want to go to the end.
01:51Yeah, and you can actually see yourself climbing Mont Venture and if you turn your head left, you'll see what's
01:57on the left side and the same thing for the right side.
02:00It's like if you were there in real life.
02:03The system also works with a simple telephone, right?
02:08Yeah, we can transform a smartphone into a VR headset using special cardboard on which you put your phone and
02:20it becomes a VR device.
02:22So it's very simple.
02:24How did you come up with the idea?
02:26The idea came when I discovered VR technology.
02:32It was in 2015, a long time ago.
02:38And in this time, I hate exercise bike.
02:42I was making sport, quite high level, but it was always outside.
02:49And when I had to do it inside, I just sketched it and I think myself, we can use virtual
02:56reality to simulate an auto ride, which is very nice.
03:01What do you actually see?
03:03Is it video that you see?
03:04Is it virtual reality?
03:06What do you see when you have the equipment on your face?
03:10Yeah, we use 300 degree video, which is synchronized with speed of the bike and which controls also the resistance
03:20of the bike.
03:21So what you see is real?
03:22Yeah, it's real.
03:24That's very important.
03:25Yeah.
03:26Thomas Pesquet, who is the French astronaut, actually tested your device, I think, in space.
03:33What did you learn from that?
03:34It was a great challenge for us because make VR device work in space is not easy at all.
03:43So I made zero G flights to test all this view work.
03:51And it was a great challenge and very interesting.
03:55And Thomas said that it can help motivation when you are just very far from the Earth.
04:04Yeah, I can imagine.
04:06You're also an artificial intelligence specialist.
04:09Everybody says here that it's the next big thing.
04:14First of all, do you agree?
04:15And how do you think artificial intelligence will change the world?
04:20I agree, of course.
04:22We see it with autonomous cars, with Chad GPT and other stuff.
04:28Of course, it will replace some of our difficulties and it will simplify our life, that's sure.
04:40Simplify life.
04:41You use the word replace.
04:43Will it replace humans?
04:45It can replace some of our work, which we don't want to do.
04:51For example, drive a car ourselves.
04:53Like for me, I came from Montpellier to Paris.
04:57It was a long road.
04:58If I had an autonomous car, it would be less extensive.
05:05A very last question.
05:07Why is it important for you to be here at VivaTech?
05:10It's an amazing place.
05:13A lot of people, just crazy opportunities.
05:16Like we have some organizers from Dubai interested to organize some things there.
05:23Investors, a lot of interesting contacts.
05:26Good for technology and good for business.
05:28Thank you so much, Dimitri.
05:29Thank you so much for coming on the set.
05:32Pleasure.
05:32Pleasure.
