01:00It is actually the first time, well it's not the first time that we visit Vivatech that we enjoy this
01:06great event, but it is the first time that we actually have our own stand to show what we are,
01:12which is a tech company, an innovative company, and to show all the great projects and the great startups, the
01:20great partners that we are investing.
01:22And if you come to our booth, you can enjoy a very, I think, funny and entertaining experience because that's,
01:31of course, part of the DNA of the company, to be an entertainment company.
01:36So you can join the In a Million draw game with Jean-Pierre Foucault as an hologram, presented it.
01:45Oh my God, Jean-Pierre as an hologram.
01:47Exactly.
01:47I want to see this as a breaking tech.
01:48You need to see it and you need to see the draw, it's a great experience.
01:53You can test some aptics on our games on your mobile.
02:01You can see how we envisage our future games in the Web3.
02:08You can look at how we see our point of sale in the future with some, also some new features,
02:15some very tech features.
02:16So really, we show that we are really on a journey, an innovation journey with very concrete things that you
02:25can touch and enjoy.
02:26And of course, more to come.
02:27Absolutely. So, I mean, I definitely understand that to you, innovation levels up the entire game when it comes to
02:35the lottery and sports betting industry.
02:39But it's way more than that.
02:41I mean, you've been undergoing a great strategy of digital transformation.
02:47How is it going?
02:49Well, it's going well.
02:51It's amazing how it has transformed the company.
02:55And we've been into this digital transformation since 2015.
03:02And innovation is, of course, at the core of this strategy.
03:06So today, if you visit again our booth, you will see that we have five main subjects or topics for
03:15innovation that we're thinking about.
03:17Of course, looking at what's happening around us, our customers, our retailers, and all the things in the environment that
03:25are moving very fast and that we need to also to anticipate.
03:29So we have a future of gambling, we have a future of players, our players, our players do want to
03:35interact with us in this new world and with these new features that you can find everywhere.
03:41We have the future of our omnichannel distribution network, we have the way three, and of course, we have tech
03:48for good.
03:49And tech for good is this part which is very important for our company, which is how we also drive
03:55innovation to sustain this very important mission that we have, which is to redistribute to impact society.
04:03And of course, with innovation, you can also make things going faster and larger and more efficient and more visible
04:11for everybody.
04:12Absolutely. That's definitely the 2023 way to actually operate as a monopoly when it comes to the FDG group.
04:22Now, is it literally the illustration of what open innovation means for FDG group?
04:30Yeah. Yeah. Open innovation is at the core of how we deploy this strategy.
04:37Just to point one thing that, yes, we're a monopoly, but we also do operate in very competitive markets, in
04:46online markets.
04:47And we also have diversification activities such as payment and services, which, of course, are very competitive and very fast
04:56-moving words.
04:57So, open innovation is really how we operate within this ecosystem, how we interact with actually 1,000 companies every
05:10year.
05:10We interact with those, we select 500, we invest in some of those through our investment fund, and we, of
05:20course, have experience to, of course, to implement into our business what those startups are doing.
05:27So, we are, of course, we benefit from this as a company because it really is moving us much more
05:34faster than if we would just be a closed company.
05:38And we also, I think, and I think it's part of, so I think that we want to do, we
05:41are a great support of the French tech system.
05:44We are part of this system.
05:45We believe it's very important to be part of it and to support it.
05:49So, we have the capacity to invest 100 million in startup or through different funds.
05:58We have great partners, and it's really changing our company and changing our environment.
06:03Absolutely.
06:04And now, you know that the season two of digital transformation is definitely societal transformation.
06:10How does FDG Innovations impact on a more inclusive society overall?
06:16I'm, well, I'm a militant too, and my company is a militant company, not only because of me, because we
06:24believe that innovation and tech also does have an impact on society and also can drive society moving forward.
06:36And we believe that, for instance, women in tech is certainly something that's on which we still need to have
06:43great progress to make.
06:45I think this is not a scoop that I'm having today.
06:50So, we are a part of CISTA.
06:53I've been a part of CISTA initiative since the beginning.
06:56So, we invest in CISTA to make women more in capacity to have financing, to make more visible as entrepreneurs.
07:10And we believe this is also part of the success that invest in tech means.
07:15So, that's one example.
07:17Another example is how you can use also our games linked with digital platforms, for instance, to talk and to
07:26raise funds about biodiversity.
07:28So, there are plenty of matters on which a company like us is going also to use innovation to fulfill
07:36its mission and to impact society.
07:38FDG Group bets definitely on inclusion.
07:41Thank you so much, Stefan Peles, for your perspective here on breaking tech.
07:47And now, Femtech is definitely on the rise.
07:50Many startups in the sector have made it this year to VivaTech.
07:53Simon Harding has more on the topic.
07:55Thank you so much.
