00:07And Venezuelans continue to celebrate the 2026 Carnival season with various activities and events
00:14that highlight the nation's cultural traditions. From Caracas, our correspondent Brian Meir tells us more.
00:20Hi, Brian. Good afternoon, Alejandra. I'm in downtown Caracas on Venezuela Plaza, and it's an area that normally has a
00:32lot of shopping going on,
00:34but they've set it all up for kids on this Carnival Monday. They've got a stage where different acts are
00:40playing.
00:40Our first singers already come off the stage, and as you can see looking around, they've got trampolines and bouncy
00:47houses.
00:47It's a kind of shopping district where people come to buy their special outfits for Carnival parties,
00:53and I see a lot of kids buying these aerosol spray cans and shooting spray at each other, squirt gun
01:00wars going on,
01:01people playing in bouncy houses. They've converted a police tent into a face painting station for kids.
01:08And so as the parents might be making some last-minute purchases for their Carnival holiday,
01:15the kids are having the time of their lives here on Venezuela Plaza in downtown Caracas.
01:24And so the party's going to keep going all night, lots of different musical acts scheduled,
01:30and as we all know, Carnival ends on Ash Wednesday, so there's just two more days left of it here
01:35in Caracas.
01:38Thank you very much. Thank you, Brian, for all your insights in this great festivity for Venezuela.
