00:00We just try to keep it as dead as possible. We don't really love a super
00:04bright sounding acoustic. Coming out of this mic, I'm going into the Troika, which
00:08is something we added on to my rig recently. I'm mostly hitting up here.
00:12That's typically my world.
00:39Hey, I'm Jack. I play in a band called Little Image, and this is my rig rundown. For starters,
00:45this is my main guitar I'm playing on this tour. This is actually just a Squire. It has
00:53fake, custom shop stuff on the neck, but me and Brandon actually found this thing at
01:00a local place in Dallas for like 300 bucks, and we put some really good electronics and
01:06pickups in it, and you know, it's just a nice little guitar that we can throw around and
01:11not worry about, you know, messing up. So I use the pickups we put in this thing. They're
01:18very similar to like a Lawler type pickup, hand-wound pickups. Brandon found some from
01:24this smaller company. I can't remember the name. I use 10-gauge strings, Ernie Ball, Paradigms,
01:33love them. I pretty much rock the bridge pickup at all times and just have, you know, full volume
01:41for driving moments and I cut volume for to get cleaner tones, but tones all the way up
01:48at all times and yeah, I love this thing man. It's great. Tuning is just, I just rock standard
01:54tuning pretty much all the time. I capo sometimes for a couple jams and yeah, but just standard
02:02tuning. We are only playing this on one song on this tour, but this is my trusty old acoustic
02:09that Fender sent us and it's just a, you know, one of their basic line acoustics. We love it.
02:16Gets the job done. We use like just as old strings on it. Oldest we can find, the better.
02:25We've had these on for a couple years. We just try to keep it as dead as possible. We don't
02:29really
02:29love a super bright sounding acoustic, but yeah, this thing's great. It's just a nice affordable
02:36Fender acoustic and we love it. It's great. Right here we have this Mustang bass. It's the
02:43JMJ Fender bass and this is actually Brandon's. I'm just using it for kind of one moment. We run this
02:52through my guitar rig and it's just a fun little jam moment on this new song that we're trying out
02:58on
02:59this tour. But we love it. I, you know, pretty basic setup here. Just the one pickup setting and,
03:06but I keep all the settings just, you know, pretty, pretty standard, just on everything on. And then
03:13I throw some drive and some, some sauce on it, you know. Yeah. So pedal board, we're coming into this
03:20decimator. It's just a, in my opinion, the best noise gate that you can get into the Tumnus,
03:27which is my main overdrive that I'm rocking. Uh, and then I believe we actually jump over to the
03:34chorus from that, uh, which is just a boss super chorus. I'll pop this on for certain moments. Uh,
03:43this is, I've done a lot of research on chorus pedals and I've tried out a bunch of them and
03:49this
03:49is my favorite one that I found. Uh, I like that you can change the EQ on it and the
03:55effect level
03:55and the depth. It's, it's just really nice. Um, and we're coming out of that into the starlight,
04:03which is the, uh, UAD, uh, starlight. It's a, just a delay. It's really cool. I use the tape
04:10emulation on it a lot. Um, cause it just, it sounds amazing. It's like basically an echoplex,
04:16which is one of my favorite delays of all time. Um, and then we go from that into the
04:22Chroma console, which I was using the Chroma console a little bit more for fuzz and drive,
04:28but it's just a little too squishy. I feel like for the live setting. Um, so I'm basically, I'm,
04:34you know, it's a little overkill, but I'm using it just as a verb on this tour. Um, and then
04:40coming
04:40out of that, we're going into the Helix and I'm using this as my, um, kind of my main amp
04:47rig going
04:47to the house. Uh, and then going from that, I have a few effects here just to drive a reverb
04:53chorus
04:54and a delay that are just kind of standard effects that I'll click on here and there. And then we're
04:59going out of that as the amp sim into the aux stomp, which is in my opinion, the best cab
05:06simulation
05:06you can get, um, for amp rigs. I think it's just amazing. We love it. It's Brandon showed it to
05:15me recently and it's just been my secret sauce. I love it. No cab simulation here, just amp simulation
05:21coming out of this. And then all the cab simulation is coming from this guy. Yes. So we're, we're rocking
05:26an AC30 type amp on this guy. Um, I was running like a more, like a deluxe type amp for
05:33a little bit.
05:34Uh, I feel like the AC30 cuts a little bit better for the, the style that we're, we're going for.
05:40Um,
05:41so yeah, we, we switched it back to the AC30, nothing like a telly and an AC30. It's just a
05:46perfect,
05:47it's a match made in heaven. If you, if you ask me, I love it. So from there, we're going
05:52out of the
05:53aux. So we have a, we have a signal going, uh, from one side of the aux box to the
06:00house, um, as the main
06:03house amp sound. And then the second out is coming to my deluxe reverb over here. And this is, uh,
06:12I'm
06:12sure, you know, we tried to use no stage amps for a little bit just to try the, the sim
06:21thing, you
06:22know, full on. And we really missed a stage volume. So we got these bad boys and we love them.
06:28They're
06:28just great. We have the, a different dial in setting on these than what's going through the
06:32helix. So we actually have a send, uh, a blank send going from the helix to that, uh, B side
06:40of
06:41the aux stomp sending out to here. So we can dial in a totally different tone here from the helix.
06:47Um, so that there's not any weird, you know, over compression going to the amp. This is
06:51the mic I use. It's, um, it's taken quite a few tumbles. Uh, so we have it taped up right
06:57now, but this is the de facto by DPA. Um, you know, pretty staple mic. I think a lot of
07:03people use this mic and it's, in my opinion, I've tried a lot of mics and this is just the
07:08best one that I've found for my voice. Love it. I have an effects mic here that we have just
07:12a lot of, uh, vocal effects running through. This thing's seen better days. It's, this
07:17is an old Telefunken M80. Uh, I think we've had this thing kind of since we started the band,
07:22but we've been slamming that thing left and right. Um, coming out of this mic, I'm going
07:28into the Troika, which is something we added onto my rig recently. And this is just a, a vocal
07:34delay thing that, um, Jack White's company, uh, Third Man Records made. And it's honestly,
07:42we've, we saw the video for it and that, that day we, we were in Nashville rehearsing and
07:46we called the store and they were like, we have one in stock. So we went and grabbed it
07:50and I've always wanted to have some sort of delay vocal thing for my rig. And, um, yeah,
07:57we just have it sitting on my keyboard here. This is my keyboard. I, I kind of do mostly sampling
08:02from this thing. I'm not much of a synth player myself. Uh, I kind of just pretend for the most
08:08part, I can play the parts, but never really known how to play piano, never learned. So
08:14I'm mostly hitting up here. That's typically my world, but, um, every once in a while I'll
08:19hit a little, I hit a little something. Picks of choice. I use the 70.73 millimeter yellow
08:27Dunlop Tortex picks. I rocked a couple different sizes. I used to use the orange ones for a little
08:32bit, but I've always just kind of come back to the yellows for some reason. Just feels right.
08:36It's the perfect weight for how I play and I love it. Uh, you can check us out on Instagram.
08:41It's just at little image at little image is pretty much for everything else as well. Uh,
08:46you can check out our website for any tour dates we have coming up little image music.com.
