00:00Why hasn't the FBI taken over the Nancy Guthrie case as the lead investigator?
00:05It was a local case originally and they didn't want to let go of it.
00:10The search for Nancy Guthrie is getting desperate.
00:14What's going on with the sheriff?
00:17I can't worry about the naysayers or the haters are going to hate.
00:21Never in the history of the United States of America has there been a more destructive president.
00:26People are burning up, choking up, heating up.
00:28Greasy and AOC fly to Germany to attack Trump.
00:33They are looking to withdraw the United States from the entire world
00:38so that Donald Trump can command the Western Hemisphere.
00:42Happy Valentine's Day.
00:45Happy Valentine's Day.
00:47Who's your Valentine?
00:48My DMs are open.
00:49Happy Valentine's Day, America.
00:53Plus...
00:55What do you think he's doing?
00:58Fox News alert.
01:03SWAT team, bomb squad and the sheriff's mobile command center have just left headquarters.
01:13The last time this had happened, authorities detained the guy.
01:16We sure hope we get another one tonight and this time it's the right one.
01:21And we just got DNA from Nancy's house.
01:24All this as the sheriff is breaking his silence after going into hiding.
01:28The FBI has been saying he hasn't been playing ball and has slowed down the investigation.
01:34Today was damage control.
01:36I can't worry about the naysayers or the haters are going to hate.
01:41You don't like Chris Nanos or he won an election or you don't like...
01:45All that stuff.
01:46There's plenty of time to do that afterwards.
01:49Right now our focus is we want to find Nancy.
01:52The FBI has accused the sheriff of boxing them out and sending evidence to their own lab instead of Quantico.
01:59Sources told us last night there was DNA found inside of Nancy's home and a glove.
02:05But the feds and the county aren't on the same page.
02:09So no glove was found in the house?
02:11Absolutely not.
02:12Ever.
02:13Or on the property.
02:14Or on the property.
02:15Two miles away.
02:16Two miles is the closest.
02:17Apparently the DNA inside Nancy's house and this glove found down the road, the sheriff sent to a Florida lab that he has a contract with.
02:26FBI sources tell us the sheriff waited too long to call them in and is hoarding the evidence.
02:32The Florida lab is a lab we have used and I don't know where they...
02:36They could have had an office here in Tucson 40 years ago, but we've used them for 30, 40 years.
02:41But what happens in this case is that morning we get out, we process our scene, we come here, we decide, okay, call the FBI immediately.
02:51It's not days later like people suggest.
02:53It was that morning.
02:55Here's the issue.
02:56This Florida lab can't do what Quantico does.
02:59So whenever they're done, which they should be done by now, they're going to have to send it to Quantico in Virginia.
03:06So the sheriff's added an extra step and it's wasting precious time, especially because this DNA found inside of the home isn't Nancy's.
03:16Do you believe you found the DNA of the perpetrator inside the house?
03:24Do you believe that at this point?
03:25What I believe is, what I know is, we found DNA.
03:29That was not Nancy Guthrie's DNA.
03:31That was not Nancy Guthrie's DNA.
03:33So we'll still work with that and we're working with our lab on that.
03:36And they'll do cross analysis and it's way beyond me.
03:40This should have been analyzed in the world's premier crime lab, which is in Virginia, Quantico.
03:48Now we're not disparaging the Florida lab, but it doesn't have the mass DNA databases to cross reference against.
03:55It's incredibly frustrating.
03:57And now another video from TMZ.
04:00Watch this.
04:01We spoke with a high up official in this investigation who said they are, and this is a quote, absolutely looking at this video.
04:11It shows a man skulking around the front porch of a house eight days before the Nancy Guthrie kidnapping.
04:21It is 6.5 miles away from Nancy's home.
04:26Interestingly, this man, we blurred his face, but he has a, he has a goatee and a mustache.
04:36And if you look at the video on Nancy Guthrie's porch, the man seen there appears to have the same.
04:45A lot of porch pirates caught on tape in Tucson.
04:48Could there be a connection?
04:49We might find out tonight.
04:51It's why police are begging the public to submit home videos.
04:55They're looking for a suspect, a getaway car, anything for a fresh lead.
05:00Police are also working with Walmart to review sales of backpacks like the one the kidnapper was wearing.
05:06They're also investigating the jacket, which is also sold at Walmart.
05:11And Google is continuing to mine their clouds for additional video from the property.
05:17And TMZ, of course, just got another email.
05:21TMZ has obtained a third email from the man who claims he knows the identity and the location of Nancy Guthrie's kidnapper.
05:31And he has now upped his demand.
05:34He says that he is going through TMZ because he does not trust law enforcement.
05:39He wants one fraction of a Bitcoin worth $50,000.
05:45He says he will not cash that until the kidnapper is actually arrested.
05:52And then he expects the second Bitcoin fraction, another $50,000.
05:59And we have no idea if this guy's jerking Harvey's chain.
06:02Does Harvey have a duty to report it?
06:05Probably.
06:06When a woman's life is on the line.
06:08Now this guy's demanding the full $100,000 reward, just wants it broken up into two Bitcoin payments.
06:15And he's alleging this wasn't a one man show.
06:18He says that when he gets the initial payment, and this is a quote, he will give up, quote, the name of the main individual, the main individual.
06:31So clearly he is suggesting the main individual.
06:35That means if this is legit, he has accomplices.
06:39And this just in.
06:41This is what Harvey just told CNN.
06:44I haven't really publicized this yet, but I'm going to tell you what this says.
06:48Okay.
06:49It says that, he said, the manhunt of the main individual that can give you all the answers, be prepared to go international.
07:02That to me, again, I don't, I can't tell you that this is a guy who actually knows, but he has to be talking about Mexico.
07:13TMZ says the FBI is very interested in this letter.
07:16There's a lot going on.
07:18And once again, random people are showing up at the crime scene.
07:22Today, pool guys arrived to clean the pool.
07:25I know when we first saw it, we couldn't believe it.
07:28And then the sheriff said, oh yeah, the Guthrie's wanted the pool cleaned with all due respect.
07:35And I know they're going through a lot.
07:37I don't think anyone's going to be up for doing any laps.
07:40Pizza guys are delivering pies to Nancy's house and the sheriff blamed the press.
07:46Amazon guys walking up and throwing packages next to Nancy's blood.
07:51Then some old lady with a dog marches right through the crime scene.
07:56This crime scene from day one has been unsecured and now it's completely compromised.
08:02The sheriff is now in a fight with the feds.
08:05He's been hanging out at basketball games.
08:07And where's the governor?
08:09This is the most historic kidnapping case of the century.
08:12And no one at all has seen Katie Hobbs.
08:15Even the president of the United States is watching this turf war take place and can't believe it.
08:21Why hasn't the FBI taken over the Nancy Guthrie case as the lead investigator?
08:27Do you have any updates on how that's going?
08:29Well, they took it over originally.
08:30You know, it was a local case originally and they didn't want to let go of it, which is fine.
08:36It's up to them.
08:37It's really up to the community.
08:38But ultimately when the FBI got involved, I think, you know, progress has been made.
08:43Chief correspondent Jonathan Hunt is in Tucson.
08:46Jonathan.
08:47Jesse, another point that from the president's comments caught my attention today.
08:56He was asked about the doorbell camera video and he was talking about it.
08:59He said, well, could be somebody who's very good at this stuff, could be somebody who's a complete amateur.
09:04That kind of sums up where we are on this case.
09:08Nobody knows anything.
09:09Even the president of the United States is thoroughly confused about what is going on right now
09:16and the progress or lack thereof being made.
09:19It was so interesting talking to the sheriff today.
09:22I did get the impression, Jesse, and I should say this, that he is very sincere in his desire to solve this case.
09:31It was also interesting. I asked him, do you believe in your heart that Nancy Guthrie is still alive?
09:38And he said, yes, I have to believe that every single one of us working this case is working on the belief that this is a rescue mission.
09:48So he was very sincere.
09:50He has his own methods.
09:52The sheriff's department, he says here, has used that Florida lab for 34 years.
09:57I think he said it was. And the first evidence that they got on the first day before the FBI arrived here was sent down to the Florida lab.
10:06And he says he wants to keep everything in the same place.
10:10There is some merit, obviously, to that argument.
10:12There is equally merit to claims in some quarters of the FBI that the lab at Quantico, the FBI lab, is the best in the world at doing this stuff.
10:22But I would not describe it as a turf war, Jesse.
10:26I would say that there was a disagreement perhaps at some point.
10:29But the sheriff said if the FBI wants to get some of this stuff out of the Florida lab and send it up to Quantico, he will absolutely do that.
10:38But it's in Florida right now, Jesse.
10:41Jonathan, when you talk to the sheriff about the DNA, he says it's not Nancy's DNA.
10:47Did he say it could be the family's DNA or is he saying it's it's no one in the Guthrie family?
10:56I'll tell you this, Jesse. He is saying it is not only no one in the Guthrie family.
11:03He is saying, and this is a quote, it is no one who has been in close contact to her, meaning Nancy Guthrie.
11:12So that would seem that he is absolutely ruling out this DNA coming from the family.
11:18He is ruling out the DNA coming from anybody who had contact with Nancy Guthrie in the form of perhaps a caretaker, anybody who was doing work in the house.
11:27So it seems that this is complete stranger DNA now that they are getting tested.
11:33And what could that DNA be? Well, DNA obviously could be blood.
11:36It could be any other bodily fluid. It could be fingernails. It could be a hair.
11:42We don't know what it is. And he was not about to tell us exactly what it is.
11:46But yes, family is not that DNA workers inside that house that they've been able to get in contact with and compare their DNA.
11:55Not them either, Jesse. That's huge. Great interview. Thank you so much, Jonathan.
12:00Yeah. Chris Swecker is a former assistant FBI director. Chris, what do you think about this DNA?
12:09It was a little bit of a shocker to hear today.
12:11Now we're almost day 14 that there is DNA supposedly from a suspect, because if it's not from from the family members or people that have been close to her, then it has to be the suspect.
12:23So I'm not sure what to believe that, you know, things that come out from the sheriff's department and the investigative team as a whole, because let me tell you, the sheriff has been problematic.
12:31But I think the FBI special agent in charge needs to get out there and show some leadership and work with that sheriff.
12:37You have to do it every day. And it's not the first time a sheriff is bowed up when the FBI showed up hot.
12:43So, you know, they need to get together as leaders and show and show some leadership.
12:47Yeah, because he came out of nowhere today. He'd been quiet for almost a week.
12:51And now he drops this DNA bomb, which has been sitting for almost two weeks at a lab in Florida.
12:58What's taking so long? Are they not able to match it with the national or international database down there?
13:06You know, my research says, no, they can't link directly up with CODIS.
13:14They can go through the sheriff's department to do that. But that's a little bit cumbersome.
13:18So I don't know about the timing of all this, whether that went off in the first day down to the lab or whether it was day two or three.
13:25But if it's after the FBI showed up and let's make it clear, they have concurrent jurisdiction.
13:30Once somebody is missing for 24 hours, there's a presumption under a federal statute that it's an interstate kidnapping.
13:37So there's concurrent jurisdiction here. And they should have just made the ground rules right from the very start.
13:44This is where the evidence is going to go. It all goes to the same place. It has to go to the same place.
13:49Yeah. I mean, at this point, I would just fly everything to Quantico, pick it up from Florida, take it to Quantico, send everything there and let's go.
13:56I mean, the clock is ticking here. The sheriff, I get it. He's working hard.
14:01There's not the sense of urgency. Like you hear him talk about the DNA. He's like, yeah, you know, they match it up. It's way above my pay grade.
14:08He just doesn't sound. I don't want to insult his intelligence. He just doesn't sound like he's on it.
14:15The new TMZ video, it looks like the guys got facial hair. It was like six days before Nancy went missing.
14:24What kind of stock do you put in that?
14:27You know, I'm at the point, Jesse, where, you know, I feel like TMZ has become the honeypot for scammers and nut cases.
14:37Now, this may be a viable lead, but I think all you know, if you've got a good lead, you send it to the FBI.
14:46You don't send it to TMZ and let them launder it through their process there and get it out on the air.
14:51And, you know, that's the best thing that's happened to them since TMZ began, I think.
14:56And I just I'm not I'm not liking what's happening with TMZ.
15:00I'm afraid I just I think it's become a honeypot for just the nut jobs.
15:04Yeah, we'd like to get it all buttoned up and have everything go through the FBI, too.
15:08But, you know, you can't control the process.
15:10You're asking the public for help and then they send it.
15:13And if you sit on it, who knows? But it's just what a mess.
15:17Hopefully we get some we get some answers soon. Chris, thanks, as always.
15:23Fox News alert. DNA was found inside of Nancy Guthrie's home and investigators believe that DNA is not Nancy's and it's not any of her family members either.
15:37And it's not a contractor. So whose is it?
15:41That's what they're trying to figure out tonight.
15:43All this is TMZ is reporting a new email from someone who says they know the main suspect and is alleging this manhunt could go international.
15:52Bernard Zaper is a former ATF special agent in charge.
15:57Bernard, before we get to the new DNA, I got to ask about the pool.
16:01They're servicing the pool at a crime scene while a woman's been missing for almost two weeks.
16:09The Guthrie family said they wanted it cleaned.
16:13Have you ever heard of this before?
16:16I haven't. It's perplexing in that we don't have a very solid control because it is ongoing.
16:24And I mean, especially if you're capturing DNA internally and you still have activity there.
16:31I mean, at a minimum, you're going to have the perimeter secured.
16:34Everybody's going to be challenged even before they even get close.
16:37So this is perplexing. I've never heard of this before.
16:39OK. Are you putting a lot of stock in these new revelations from TMZ?
16:46Yes, they've been a conduit for a lot of video and the initial ransom letters, which everybody believed to be authentic.
16:53But now we have a new video out doorbell camera and a letter guy asking for money to name the main culprit behind this.
17:02And they said maybe the guys in Mexico.
17:06I'm putting no stock in any of this external noise for the simple fact that this is an investigation that is very complex,
17:14but it's also under superb pressure because you have a human life that is in the balance.
17:21And so it has some very unusual complexities to it in an investigation like this.
17:27You're going to have a core group of investigators that should be protected by leadership around them from even their internal noise,
17:35like the PIO and headquarters and lab folks left alone to develop what they're developing and to run it into the ground until it's exhausted.
17:45And so everything gets digested that's coming in through public tip lines, whatever they're getting from the media and all of these things.
17:53It gets digested and given to them through the intelligence analyst process so that really core, you know, unencumbered investigative team can run it without all this extrapless noise and things that are going on around them.
18:05That's a very effective process.
18:07We have to have hope that that's going on here.
18:10I have the sense that there is progression in that area.
18:13We're not seeing it because they're isolated, the investigative group, the core, from all this other access and these different things that are happening.
18:20They're getting the information, but it's getting through a scrub process so they can really focus in on what's a seemingly relevant first and then what's developing relevance as it goes on.
18:31And that's where the best hopes of solving the case, more importantly, recovering this poor woman.
18:37So what is the hot focus of this team? Is it the DNA or is it this video?
18:44So it's going to be all of it. And the reason why is whatever they have that's speaking to them right now, they have to run with.
18:52And if, say, for example, DNA comes back and it's conclusive to a certain person, they're going to have to dedicate resources to that immediately.
19:02And so the priorities one, two, three actually changes when things that are stronger come into focus.
19:09Things like DNA confirmation, that's super hot video analysis.
19:13And, you know, there's reluctance to put out a video like that doorbell camera until they have a chance at it first to see if it's bumping into anything that they know so far.
19:23And when it doesn't do that, then they put it out to the public because, for example, somebody could say, hey, my landscapers got a jacket just like that's always hanging in the back of his truck.
19:32You never know what the outcome is going to be.
19:34But at the same time, you have to have a serious infrastructure to process all this information that's coming in from things like the doorbell camera.
19:42Yeah. I mean, there's just an avalanche of information pouring into this case.
19:46And, man, these guys, they kind of just got to buckle down and remain focused.
19:51Thank you so much for your expertise.
19:54Darren Porcher is a former NYPD lieutenant and U.S. Army veteran.
19:58Darren, do you believe because we're learning that Google is still trying to pull more video, potentially audio from these cameras at Nancy's house?
20:09How long could that take?
20:14Well, when you look at the beginning, it took them upwards of nine days to pull the video based on what we're seeing in this 22nd segment of an intruder trying to get into the house.
20:26The challenge that Google has is the video is in a coded language.
20:32It's not in the video format as the what we see.
20:35So the engineers in Google had to do the reformatting.
20:38And it took a long time to get this done because the subscription was no longer active.
20:44There's now going through the same process for the interior cameras that are inside the house.
20:50So it's an arduous task and they're doing the best that they can do.
20:54But bear in mind, Jesse, they may not be successful because they were fortunate the first time around.
20:59Darren, we haven't had you on the program yet.
21:01What do you think happened here?
21:02Well, you know, there are conflicting narratives as it relates to what happened.
21:11There's one narrative that this was a burglary that went bad and the burglar panicked and tried to take Nancy out of the residence.
21:20And that's why we're in the position that we're in.
21:23Then we have another narrative that focuses on this being a targeted kidnapping.
21:27So the investigators that are attached to the story are doing the best that they can to come up with supported conclusions,
21:35as opposed to abstract statements based on these hypotheses that are put out there.
21:40But Jesse, there's one point that I want to put out there.
21:43When we speak to the DNA that's been captured at the residence,
21:47there's a company, Paraben, that has the ability to do a reconstruction based on DNA
21:54that can actually provide you with an image of an individual based on that DNA.
22:00Paraben has been out since 1999.
22:03And as of lately, they've been able to manifest this technology.
22:08And I'm hoping that they can be a part of the solution as it relates to providing us an image with the DNA that's been captured.
22:15Yeah, that would be great.
22:16So we don't have to wait for it to go to Quantico and we can maybe shave some time off this investigation.
22:23Darren, thank you so much.
22:25More prime time straight ahead.
22:27To smile again.
22:32Ka-ching.
22:37And an upside surprise here or a downside surprise year over year at 2.4 have been expected at 2.5%.
22:44This is a new eight month low for annual inflation month over month prices up by 0.2%.
22:52Also a step in the right direction.
22:54Also beating expectations.
22:56That's the lowest annual inflation rate for core since March of 2021.
23:01Mmm.
23:02Inflation came in cool for January.
23:04But wait a second.
23:05How could that be?
23:0616 Nobel economists said Trump would detonate the economy.
23:10It's the opposite.
23:12Wages are up, especially for construction and manufacturing.
23:16Trump's so happy he's house hunting.
23:18Maybe I'll move here with our great movie star.
23:21We'll move here with our first lady.
23:24We'll move to Fort Bragg.
23:25Would you like that, darling?
23:27She loves you.
23:29It's a possibility.
23:30Actually, it's not a bad idea.
23:32But Democrats aren't going to give Trump any credit.
23:35They're running for president.
23:36Knee pads flew to Germany and left his wife off stage where she can't grab the mic.
23:41We thought Gavin was going to give a big foreign policy speech.
23:44You know, tell us about the Newsome Doctrine.
23:47Nope.
23:48He just mimicked Al Gore.
23:50Donald Trump is doubling down on stupid.
23:52I mean, people are burning up, choking up, heating up.
23:55We have simultaneous droughts and floods.
23:58Historic wildfires.
24:00Maybe a little about California.
24:02You've seen those images of these wildfires.
24:04Knee pads needs to read the room.
24:06Europe doesn't want to hear about windmills that already tanked their economy.
24:10They're worried about trade, NATO, natural gas.
24:13What Newsome didn't tell these folks is that climate change didn't start the fire in the Palisades.
24:19A Biden donor did.
24:21Newsome's message, sit tight, Europe.
24:23Soon everything's going to be just fine.
24:26And you can call me daddy.
24:29Donald Trump is temporary.
24:32He'll be gone in three years.
24:34California is a stable and reliable partner in this space.
24:39And it's important for folks to understand the temporary nature of this current administration in relationship to the issue of climate change.
24:48Newsome's message was the exact opposite of AOC's.
24:52AOC said nothing's going back to normal.
24:55The world's changing fast.
24:57But she kind of got off to a rocky start.
25:00We are in a new day and in a new time.
25:03But that does not mean that the majority of Americans are ready to walk away from a rules-based order and that we're ready to walk away from our commitment to democracy.
25:16I think what we identify is that in a rules-based order hypocrisy is vulnerability.
25:23And so I think what we are seeking is a return to a rules-based order that eliminates the hypocrisies around when too often in the West we look the other way for inconvenient populations to act out these paradoxes.
25:42After the word salad, AOC froze like a deer in headlights.
25:49Would and should the US actually commit US troops to defend Taiwan if China were to move?
25:57You know, I think that this is such a, you know, I think that this is a, this is of course a very long-standing policy of the United States.
26:17And I think what we are hoping for is that we want to make sure that we never get to that point.
26:24Finally, she found her footing.
26:27AOC says if democracy doesn't deliver for the middle class, Trump and Putin are going to go rogue.
26:33And now I think we are moving in this direction of increased recognition that we have to have a working class centered politics.
26:42If we are going to succeed and also if we are going to stave off the scourges of authoritarianism.
26:50AOC's solution, raise taxes on the rich and spend trillions on handouts.
26:57I don't know if folks are going to go for that, but at least that's a coherent message instead of Gavin's dumb climate stump speech.
27:05Meanwhile, back in the United States, Kamala's book tour rolled into her favorite spot, a bar.
27:11Kamala's pub crawl isn't getting any buzz, although she is.
27:37I know what you're thinking.
27:40Democrats are running AOC, Kamala, knee pads.
27:43But there's a wild card candidate who's going to blow up the whole race.
27:48Stephen A. Smith says this quote.
27:50I'm giving strong consideration to being on that debate stage for 2027.
27:55I've got this year coming up 2026 to think about to study and know the issues.
28:00Let the games begin.
28:03Charlie Spearings, the author of Amateur Hour.
28:07How do Gavin Newsom and AOC get along, especially overseas?
28:15Well, it's very interesting, Jesse.
28:20You see two sides of the left coast.
28:23One is Gavin Newsom, who really believes that he can control the weather, when at the same time he can barely even control his state.
28:30And on the other side, you have AOC, who wants to sort of expand this socialism brand to go global.
28:38Well, the last time you expanded socialism globally really didn't make Europe end up looking too great.
28:44So it's no surprise that both sides are trying to tackle with Trump's leadership here.
28:49And in the meantime, you have Marco Rubio showing up on Saturday to remind people exactly who's in charge.
28:55Yeah. And Kamala's tour is just the longest tour we've ever seen.
28:59We're almost now at, what, six months? Pretty close to that.
29:03She's just going to bars now? What's that about?
29:06Yeah, she's going into a lot of safe spaces.
29:11You see her going to these book tours, going to a lot of places today.
29:15She was at a university where she talked about, you know, once again, kicking the door open to get into the room.
29:21It's very interesting, Jesse, because the last time she kicked the door open and showed up at the Munich Security Conference in 2022,
29:28when she first arrived at the Munich Security Conference, as soon as she left, that's when Putin invaded Ukraine.
29:34So it's not really looking good for her on the global stage at this point.
29:38What about Stephen A. Smith? I mean, he's he's a very talented guy.
29:44He's dipping his toes in. I would love to see him up on that Democrat debate stage.
29:50Is this a real thing?
29:52Well, look at Stephen Smith. He's out there on camera. He looks good on camera. He's articulate.
29:59The clips you played, Jesse, of both Kamala and AOC not ready for prime time.
30:05Look, Stephen A. Smith is going to have to sit down and think about what he's he's going to do in Ukraine.
30:12He's going to have to think about what he wants to do in Taiwan and learn to ask, learn to answer some of these tough questions on foreign policy.
30:19That for experienced politicians like AOC and Kamala Harris, they should have that down at this point, especially if they're going overseas to an international security conference.
30:28I don't I don't think Stephen A. Smith is going to have any problem competing with these people on a debate stage or a global stage or anywhere else.
30:36Yeah, that was not a great answer from AOC. I took her about thirty five seconds to get the words out.
30:42Maybe maybe she could just use Gavin Newsom's wife. She's she's she's very articulate.
30:49Charlie, good to see you as always. Have a great weekend. Sink or swim. That's next.
30:56I don't know.

33:20Okay, let's see that there's no help to go.
33:22We will have to hold them in the box.
33:24All of the boxes.
33:26They're there.
33:28They're not here.
33:30They're already in the box.
