We may have scoffed at it to begin with, but putting your sealed sweaters and cashmere in the freezer might be the best way to make them last. In this video, Ivy Odom explains how freezing moth and insect-damaged clothing will solve any further issues going forward.

00:00My co-worker's mom puts the weirdest thing in her freezer, and no, it's not skincare.
00:04Apparently, right smack dab in the middle of the frozen peas and casseroles,
00:08her mom stores zip-top bags of sweaters.
00:11Yes, that she wears.
00:12Why?
00:13Supposedly freezing nits that are prone to moth damage kills any existing bugs and larva
00:17that might be making holes in your cashmere and wool.
00:20Super cold temps kill anything that cause damage.
00:22Simply put them in a zip-top bag, freeze them for 72 hours, let them thaw, shake them out,
00:26and then clean them according to the care instructions of the label.
00:29Now, I've heard of freezing tights to make them last longer, but sweaters?
00:32This is new to me.
00:33What about y'all?
