00:00Businesswoman Diane Haddad told TV6's Elizabeth Williams that the lack of clear communication
00:06and accountability surrounding the Seabridge operations is unacceptable, particularly given
00:12the impact on Tobago's economy and daily life.
00:16And therefore, at this stage, we are asking for the minister to come out and give us the
00:24truth because this is disastrous.
00:26Many of us have not slept for the night and it cannot be that Miss Jolene John and her
00:33government sleeps comfortably and the people of Tobago, both the business owners and the
00:40employees, are up all night this morning with headaches from noon rest.
00:45This cannot continue.
00:47Miss Haddad also claimed that some truck operators experienced what she described as discriminatory
00:54treatment in Trinidad after certain trucks were reportedly not permitted to board the
01:00MV Blue Wave Harmony.
01:02It is now being brought to my attention that they said no 10-ton trucks were going on and
01:09they were only going to sell tickets for 3-ton trucks.
01:11So we are still wondering what is the true ability of the ferry and can it or can it not
01:19take the Tobago need?
01:22Haddad said the delay in the docking of the cargo vessel on Wednesday night, which was attributed
01:28to adverse weather conditions, is totally unacceptable.
01:33Clearly something is wrong.
01:34Yes, Tobago did have some weather last night, but it was not weather that was unusual to what
01:40we call rain in this country, and it cannot be that a ferry that size or a vessel that size
01:47could not take some rain or some normal winds to come into both, and therefore there are
01:55more questions than answers.
01:57Elizabeth Williams, TV6 News.
