00:00Yankees look to be a player in Major League Baseball this season as they do each and every
00:03season. Maybe coming into the season hopefully a little bit more healthier than they have in the
00:07past and swinging away and Aaron Judge and all the boys and Garrett Cole back in the fold.
00:12But here we have some tape here on Booney talking about IKF with his Isaiah Kiner-Falefa.
00:18I think the Blue Jays would rather have played them last year than the Red Sox. Ooh, rivalry.
00:22Let's hear it. IKF told Red Sox reporters that the Blue Jays were hoping to see you guys in the
00:28playoffs last year because they thought you were an easier matchup. How do you feel about that?
00:34Wilson? I guess he was right.
00:38A little surprising to hear IKF say that, but whatever. That's fine. I mean...
00:43Does it bother you at all? Not really, honestly. I mean...
00:51So, I mean, you gotta play who you play and what else.
00:56By the way, Yankees have high expectations, but also, like, if you wanted to get on your
00:59good side of your fans, like, you would have fired Boone last year and had a new guy saying
01:03that, and the Yankees fans would have been all fired up, ready to go this year. They
01:06really would have been.
01:08Yeah, yeah, but again, it's, you know, it's...
01:11Booney is, uh...
01:13He's a staple there now, and quite honestly, do you really, you know, the devil you know
01:20better than the devil you don't, and I don't know, you know, some no-name guy and some,
01:25what, bench manager or something? Like, it's just not going to work in New York. You need
01:30a very specific guy if that's going to happen. Maybe Mattingly was the only guy I've ever
01:35said that would be the perfect fit for the Yankee manager role, but doesn't appear like
01:40they want that to happen anytime soon.
01:43Not the brightest bulb. Here's Jazz Chism. I'm talking about Yankees running it back
01:46this year.
01:52I mean, I feel like this is what this team was built for last year. Like, we're running
01:56it back because at the halfway point, we thought we built a team that was going to go to the
01:59World Series, and we still believe that wholeheartedly. So, for me, I don't see a problem with running
02:05it back with four MVPs on your team, you know?
02:09That's Jazz right there. By the way, like, I always like to equate
02:12things like of how I bet. Like, if I have an RBI prop, or let's just say a player to
02:16score on third base with one out and Jazz Chism's up, like, I'm like, I can't believe
02:20this is happening here. But I would just take Jazz Chism in home run props because he has
02:24no game plan at the plate whatsoever, but hit this ball as hard as I can, regardless of
02:29who's on base or what the situation is, Joe. He's a tough bet at times.
02:33He really is. It's a very tough bet. And listen, you know, unfortunately for the
02:39Yankees, they're running it back, but they're running it back. So what are we doing again?
02:44Are we, is it home run or bust running it back? Are we, what exactly are we doing? Are you
02:50going
02:50to be able to, did you learn anything by watching Toronto Manufacture Runs? Like, or is it always just
02:56home run or bust here? I can't wait to see this version of running it back.
03:02Let, let, let's run it back here. Here's what's going to happen, Joe. As you said,
03:05a lot of home runs, horrendous base running, fans blaming Boone, and then yelling at Volpe
03:10because he booted his 16th error already in the month of April at this point as we go.
03:14So get ready, Yankees fans. I already just told your future right here. How about the future of
03:18Myles Michaelis, who I actually like? He's going here to Washington, which means I'll be fading a
03:23lot more Washington Nationals games this year. I love to see this, man. That guy's a sieve out
03:27there. Gas can city, baby. A lot of overs, uh, in those games, uh, Donnie is what we're
03:34going to be looking at. Yes. Myles, especially early on in the season. So yeah, be looking
03:40forward to that too, that they should just put a money sign over them there on that picture.
03:45How about the hit? You ever thought that the Jeremy's show Han of the major league baseball
03:49experience? It's the Castellanos. Hey, uh, buddy, don't show up. I know you make about 20 million
03:54bucks. Nobody around the league wants you. We don't want you. Maybe we can fire or sell
03:58you, but Hey, stay home. Don't bother coming to work. Yeah. Yeah. What is that? That, uh,
04:04that tells you everything you need to know about how that relationship is going, uh, Donnie.
04:08Yeah. And don't see it getting in any better anytime soon either.
04:12Nah, swimmingly in Philadelphia. Let's get after that. But Corbin Carroll Hammett bone again,
04:16reaches up and grabs somebody. It's going to miss the world baseball classic and possibly opening
04:20day. Love Corbin Carroll, man. That guy's a machine. I don't get it. I mean, Lindor Corbin
04:26Carroll, uh, Jackson holiday of the, of the Orioles, another guy, like what, what, when did
04:32this become a thing? The Hammett bone and why now? I just, I don't get it. Uh, I really
04:39don't. Very strange here in major league baseball. That's super old. Just ended. People like to
04:44have wings, ribs, and pizza here. You know, who even likes a rib even more? Zach Wheeler held
04:48on to his rib as a keepsake, said he had a rib removed during thoracic outlet surgery,
04:53which is actually going to miss opening day, I believe still, and kept it in a closet at
04:57his house. Freaky. Yeah. I mean, what, put it on the mantle, man. You know, I mean, I
05:03don't know what the, that's a, don't hide it. Uh, you know, share it at that point. Get
05:07that thing, uh, get that thing up on the, uh, above the fireplace. That's what I was talking
05:12about. Yeah. Getting excited for hour number two. It's coming up next. It's a Thursday.
05:16The NBA is going away. Hockey is on hiatus, but not Joe and Erie. We're Donnie Wright
05:21side. See ya. Baseball is on the horizon. You could feel it right now. There are players
05:26in uniform throwing fastballs right now because pitchers and catchers show up a little bit
05:30early. Then the full squad start up and the inter squad scrimmages turn into spring training
05:35games, which turn into the world baseball classic, and then into regular season games starting
05:39March the 25th. As we sit here today, it is February the 12th. We are close. The weather
05:44is going to change. But the one thing we love to talk about Joe is, and major league baseball
05:48gets me upset with this. I don't have to worry about in hockey, if the pucks are frozen or
05:53not, they're all frozen. They come out the same. I don't have to worry in the NBA that
05:57they're going to use a women's basketball by accident on a night. Like, man, nobody can
06:01make three point shots or score at this point. And outside of Tom Brady, I usually know that
06:05the football is all correct in the NFL and they're not going to have, Hey, why is this football
06:09like double the size or we take air out of here? Only in major league baseball do they
06:13have an issue of, we don't know if we're getting the juice baseballs or not. So the reason I
06:17bring that up is that could be a big indicator on the pro baseball home run leaders here in
06:222026, depending on where you play. Cal Raleigh is listed at a 45% chance right now. The big
06:27dumper, he can go yard. And he did it last year. One of the toughest ballparks to hit home
06:32runs. We'll see if those changes are made. Aaron Judge, always going to come up as a home
06:35run leader. Number one, a great hitter, but also plays in the most comical carnival ballpark
06:40you can ever hit home runs in, which is Yankee Stadium. A de facto minor league ballpark masquerading
06:45as a major league ballpark here. Joe, if I asked you today, which way would you go on
06:50the home run leader for 2026? Eugenio Suarez, a little Rooker, a little reestablishment of
06:56Bryce Harper's power coming back or just Aaron Rudge and Cal Raleigh? Get back to it, boys.
07:02No, I think it's just, listen, are we really convinced that Cal Raleigh can run it back
07:08with another year? I don't know at all, especially in that park. And not to mention that now a
07:18year removed, you know they're going to look for every hole in that. It's tough to do.
07:23You know, let's face it here, the big man has been doing it for a while now. There's no reason
07:29to bet against them, right, Donnie? Why in the world would you assume that Aaron Judge is not
07:34going to hit 50 or more home runs? You're just, you're not. You're going to go ahead and I think
07:40invest on that side there. I'm going to invest the no with Cal Raleigh because I just don't
07:45think he can run it back again like that.
