00:00Garrett Cole looked very much like his vintage self on Wednesday night.
00:04Ten strikeouts across six and two-thirds scoreless innings.
00:08His command was there.
00:09It looks like Cole is back to his usual self.
00:12So, Dan, do you feel like this is the version of Garrett Cole
00:16we should expect to see the rest of the season?
00:19You know, I don't know if he can keep up this pace
00:21where he doesn't give up any runs at all,
00:23but I know that after his first start,
00:25he was as excited as he was about it.
00:27He was a little concerned.
00:28There were only a couple or three strikeouts.
00:30That was the one thing that was missing after that first start.
00:33And then the second start, ten strikeouts, no walks.
00:36I mean, that was perfect.
00:38Garrett Cole, exactly what you would want from him.
00:41He looks like the ace that they've been waiting a year and a half for.
00:44And if that's the case, if he can keep that up
00:46and there's no reason to believe that he won't,
00:48that just gives them another big arm in their rotation
00:51as they wait to get Max Fried back.
00:52And if you start to think ahead to the playoffs,
00:55then a one, two, three of, or even a four of Cole, Rodon, Max Fried,
01:02and then obviously Cam Schlittler is as good as a foursome
01:06as any rotation is probably going to put out there in the playoffs.
01:08So Garrett Cole, having him healthy, having him back,
01:11that changes a lot of things for the Yankees,
01:14not just their rotation, but just the whole vibe on the team.
01:17And this is the guy that they want to build the rotation around.
01:19And this is the guy that they want to build the rotation around.
