00:00Tell me about a team Italy in the World Baseball Classic.
00:02I don't know if these guys are from Italy, but this lineup is awesome.
00:06Running you through this lineup.
00:08Vinny Pasquantino is probably going to play first base.
00:11Jack Caglione is going to DH.
00:13Kyle Teal of the White Sox is going to catch.
00:15Sam Antonacci, who's one of the White Sox top prospects,
00:18is going to play second base.
00:19John Birdie, utility man, will probably be at shortstop.
00:21Miles Mastroboni at third base.
00:23In outfield of Dominic Canzone in Seattle,
00:26Zach DiZenzo in Houston, and Jacob Marcy in Miami
00:29is really fun.
00:31Not to mention Thomas Segezi, the Cardinal, is on the bench.
00:34Dante Nori and Nick Morabito, two prospects in the NL East
00:37that can absolutely fly, are on the bench.
00:40And Andrew Fisher, one of the best third base prospects
00:42in minor league baseball, a Brewers farmhand,
00:44is also on the bench.
00:45And then they run out a rotation of Aaron Nola,
00:48Michael Lorenzen, Matt Festa, and Gordon Graceffo.
00:50That's four big leaguers.
00:52I would love to know how all of these guys qualify
00:55for Team Italy.
00:56I asked Jacob Marcy, I saw him at Marlins Media Day,
01:00I said, how much Italian do you speak?
01:02He said, no, not much.
01:04But his mom, he was explaining like his great-grandparents
01:08came over from Italy to the U.S.
01:11and you can kind of track the lineage down.
01:13But he was eligible and he was recruited
01:15and he said, absolutely, I want to do this.
01:18They have some interesting bullpen names too.
01:19Adam Adovino, Kyle Nicholas, the flamethrower for the Pirates.
01:22Greg Weissert is in there as well.
01:25Alec Jacob, Dylan DeLucia won a national championship
01:27at Ole Miss.
01:29There are some guys in here.
01:30Sam Aldeguerri.
01:32I don't know, man.
01:33This Team Italy lineup is like,
01:34they could mess around and win a couple games.
01:37Ron Marinacho, I'm so glad that you brought up
01:39this bullpen because I think it's easy to look
01:41at Team Italy and look at the lineup and say,
01:43this is a team of big leaguers.
01:44But then just kind of forget about the pitching
01:46because a lot of the fun names are in the lineup.
01:50But Aaron Nola and Michael Lorenzen
01:52is a really solid front too.
01:54And then the bullpen, right?
01:55They have, I think their bullpen is like 11 guys.
01:59Eight of them are big leaguers,
02:01which you're not really going to find
02:03on a lot of these world baseball classic rosters
02:06outside of the heavy Titans at the absolute top.
02:10But when you're comparing Team Italy
02:12to other teams ahead of them,
02:16BetMGM gives them a 1.8% chance
02:19of winning the world baseball classic behind Canada.
02:24A good bit behind Mexico and Puerto Rico and Venezuela.
02:28I look at Team Italy and I think to myself,
02:31I think they should be grouped with those teams.
02:33They are not as bad as the odds would tell us
02:37they are compared to those teams that I named.
02:41There's some fun vibes with Team Italy too.
02:44I remember last year,
02:46or last World Baseball Classic in 23,
02:48didn't they have like an espresso machine
02:49or something in the bullpen?
02:51They were able to pump their own espresso out.
02:54So who needs a Red Bull
02:55when you've got an espresso machine?
02:57But yeah, man, Team Italy is just,
03:01they're fun and I'm with you.
03:02They should be clumped with a Team Canada.
03:03I think I would take that roster over Canada's
03:06to be totally honest with you.
03:07They're right there.
03:09I could totally hear that.
03:10I could hear that with Team Mexico.
03:12I could hear it with Team Puerto Rico.
03:14Like I think there's a heavy hitters list at the top
03:18and it's the USA, it's Japan, it's DR.
03:22But then after that-
03:23I think Venezuela should be in Tier 1.
03:24I don't know.
03:26I think that they're at the very top of Tier 2.
03:29Again, Tier 1 is outrageous.
03:32Tier 1-
03:33He is saying Tier 1.
03:34Yeah, Venezuela is outrageous, man.
03:36Sure, sure.
03:37You know, put them in there
03:38because these are like some of the best rosters
03:39that's ever been put together.
03:41So sure, put Venezuela in Tier 1.
03:44But I think if we're comparing Italy
03:46to the rest of Tier 2,
03:47put Venezuela in Tier 1,
03:49they're just as good as the remaining teams.
03:51And I think they're a great pick, firstly.
