00:10on the super bowl this week i mean my gosh the amount of money that is coming in for these
00:14prediction markets i i understand why they're fighting back to try and stay around all right
00:19let's start here they didn't make more money than vegas but they took a lot of bets let's put it that
00:24way for sure um i have the number at on super bowl sunday about 870 million dollars was traded
00:30again i caution you that is not the same as sports betting handle for a variety of reasons but
00:36we also saw nevada sportsbooks which includes las vegas only took about 133 million dollars
00:41handle that was its worst uh performance in in the decade in terms of total handle on the game there
00:47now we don't have ratings we don't have a lot of other things there's a lot of reasons for that but
00:52at the bottom line is calci did a lot of trading volume on the super bowl uh the the ceo went on
00:57cnbc this morning and said uh they had more than a billion dollars on markets related to the game
01:02that includes the lead up the weeks leading up to the game it also includes things like betting on the
01:06super bowl halftime show and people who will be at the game uh things like that we'll get to that in
01:11a minute i think here but um yeah huge number um you know we also know that like regulated sportsbooks
01:17we've talked about this before 1.7 billion was the estimate on how much handle there would be
01:22so we get calci very big but it is still not as big as as regulated sports betting but again this
01:27we were talking about this a lot this time last year only 26 million dollars was traded on the
01:32super bowl last year as calci was ramping all this up so um a much different different spot for them i
01:37actually saw some people sharing uh the the most expensive billboard on the vegas strip had account
01:42had calci odds on it um it was a moment for calci and prediction markets for sure um and certainly
01:48you could bet on this in places where you previously couldn't california and texas come to the top of
01:53mind so absolutely big moment for them and um the question will be whether they keep that momentum up
01:59after the super bowl we all know the the sports calendar winds down a little bit here yes there's nba we
