00:07And I feel like there's already some breadcrumbs dropping of like, yeah, this won't be easy because it's Jerry and a star wide receiver.

00:20Yeah, here's why they're going to place the franchise.
00:22I know ESPN had it out there, but I can tell you that's 100% true.
00:25So, with Pickens, to put the franchise tag on it, it's a big number, but it's only one year.
00:30It's fully guaranteed, though, when he signs the tender.
00:34The belief around the league on Pickens is this, and why this illustrated him.
00:38They didn't trust him.
00:39He's a phenomenal football player, very smart, by the way.
00:43It's just that he gets his own way for effort.
00:46There are some games this season, you scratch your head, why isn't he showing up?
00:51That's why you can't go past one year.
00:53The franchise number is really big at receiver, but you don't have to make the commitment past one season.
00:59The franchise tag, guys, is like an insurance marker.
01:04If you need it, you do it.
01:06And by the way, even if he signs it, let's say they tag him, like I believe will happen.
01:11It's just kind of inevitable that's what they're going to do.
01:14It doesn't mean you can't work an extension out.
01:16They have until July 15th to do that.
01:17But it's just the way to do it, because with Pickens and as great of a season as he had, there were games where he just didn't show up, but you can't have that.
01:28So I want to ask you as well, just another big name that we're hearing about, Cap, Max Crosby, where they talked about the benching.
01:40Benching is not the right word.
01:42Please don't play.
01:43We want the first overall pick.
01:45Stuff that went on unsurprisingly now could lead to Crosby being dealt out of Las Vegas.
01:52Is it too early to tell on that?
01:56Well, actually, here's the thing with Crosby.
01:59I talked to someone close to him over the years who said, listen, he does not want to be part of a rebuild.
02:03He wants to win.
02:05But he's been such a great teammate.
02:06And then you've got what you're talking about is actually the knee surgery.
02:10He had the bad knee.
02:11The year before, he played with a high ankle sprain.
02:14Look, you worry about him getting hurt the last couple of years.
02:18But I know they don't want to do this.
02:21They don't want to trade him.
02:22But, man, I learned my lesson with Khalil Mack.
02:25I'm talking to the Raiders literally two days before they made that trade in 2018.
02:29Now, that's different circumstances.
02:31John Gruden kind of finagled personnel from Reggie McKenzie.
02:35And he told McKenzie, listen, you've got to trade him.
02:38But the bottom line here in this situation is watch this one.
02:43No matter what the Raiders say publicly, it's all about what's best for the football team.
02:48And Crosby, look, he's doing a lot of losing.
