00:00Thanks, Phil. And then the teammate of Kitchen is Cameron McAdoo.
00:04They were second and third last week.
00:06The team owner, team manager, Mitch Payton, said yesterday,
00:09I don't want congratulations on second and third. We're here to win.
00:12He also said he wants his riders to be aggressive.
00:15And also, he feels that good things happen to good people.
00:18He likes nice guys on his team.
00:20You folks can think of whatever you want out of those words.
00:22But that's McAdoo and that's Kitchen.
00:25Well, how about this guy, Max Anstey?
00:27I mean, incredible season opener in Anaheim.
00:30Pretty good ride. Had some help going down at San Diego.
00:35And then really hasn't shown us the same potential that he did those first two races.
00:41So what's going to happen here in the main event?
00:43Let's keep an eye on this guy right here.
00:45Now, the 61 needs to bounce back.
00:47And it started with great starts at the beginning of the year.
00:49They have fallen off.
00:51He's lined up pretty far to the inside of the 61.
00:54Fly Racing 30-second card is up.
00:57Again, just two races before a long break for 250 West.
01:02So if anyone is going to try to become a Thorne and Deegan side,
01:05they're going to have to start doing it right now.
01:08Boland, so strong earlier in the evening with a heat race win.
01:12What can he do?
01:14Here we go.
01:15The nerves are there.
01:18They're locked in.
01:18It's time for the main event.
01:20250, some Glendale.
01:28Oh, McAdoo, I thought, had it on the inside.
01:31He's up there.
01:32And it's going to be Deegan.
01:34Oh, Deegan doubles right out of that corner.
01:36Look at the gap that he gets.
01:37Because of doing that, Moseman right there in second.
01:411-2 for the Amahas.
01:42There's McAdoo had a good jump, but he got to the brakes early.
01:46It's at DeFrancisco.
01:47It is.
01:49Hey, I said keep your eye on him.
01:51Extremely fast early today.
01:53Having a lot of confidence.
01:54He's had an incredible season so far.
01:57Bad gate pick for DeFrancisco with a heat race crash.
02:01But, boy, has he come back to make it a good start.
02:05McAdoo fighting him.
02:06Yeah, if he can stay in front of McAdoo.
02:09Going to be pretty easy right here.
02:12But watch McAdoo's whoop entry speed like JT was telling you about in the Yamaha track map.
02:17Watch.
02:18Oh.
02:20Ryder has good entry speed as well.
02:22That's Anstey and Kitchen buried back there.
02:26So, another bad start for the 61 Kitchen.
02:29I believe it's just a few positions further up.
02:31And now a big pileup back there.
02:34Oh, these guys got to keep it clean.
02:36Nice and straight through the lane right here.
02:39Heartbreak for Max Anstey and Levi Kitchen.
02:43It just seemed like they cannot stop the leak, Will.
02:48Guys, I just want to give a bit of background in that heat race and what we saw in the highlights there.
02:52Happened to Max Anstey when he rode up on the barn there.
02:54It wasn't anything to do with the bike.
02:56He told me that he just got us getting elbows from out of the riders there and just basically ran out of space.
03:01He said, look, I could have put on the brakes, but I probably would have ended up on the ground.
03:04Or I could have just stayed straight and not hit the brakes.
03:07And that's exactly what he had to do.
03:09All right.
03:09Good to know that.
03:10Yeah, it wasn't the brake problem.
03:11He just didn't have room there.
03:12Thanks, Will.
03:13But the problem now is that he is in 13th and Kitchen is in 10th.
03:19There's some loop entry speed from McAdoo in the top box.
03:22He does not want to let DeFrancisco get away.
03:25He's right there.
03:30I go back to, what was it, Anaheim 2.
03:32These guys are battling it out to the end.
03:35And McAdoo slipped up right there with about a lap and a half to go.
03:40And Ryder DeFrancisco moved into that podium position.
03:44Yeah, McAdoo is so bummed to let that podium get away to DeFrancisco.
03:49So he is determined to stop it this time.
03:53Man, Ryder DeFrancisco has made some massive improvements for that rock star Husky team.
04:00And working with guys like the team manager, Nathan Ramsey, an old teammate of mine.
04:06And just the momentum that he has and how well that Ryder DeFrancisco has been performing is great to see.
04:13Because this is a kid that was extremely talented, still is talented,
04:17but had a great amateur career and great to see him living up to his expectations, JT.
04:23It is. He's come a long way, Ricky.
04:25And watching Cameron McAdoo here, you know, he's taken some strides of his own
04:29because if you look back at the beginning of this championship, he really got a late start.
04:32He wasn't as prepared as he wanted to be coming in.
04:35And you can see it in his riding.
04:36He was just a touch off on sprint speed.
04:39He didn't really have the pace to go with the guy.
04:41So he's almost having to manufacture these podium finishes, like put himself in position and hang in there.
04:48Watching him this weekend, he looks like he's taking a step.
04:50He doesn't look like he's struggling to find the pace.
04:53So that sprint speed is starting to come back for the 142.
04:56Yeah, I agree with you 100%, JT.
04:58Just sitting here watching Cameron.
05:00It doesn't look like he's on that edge, that ragged edge.
05:03And he just looks like he's at a comfortable pace.
05:06And when you're in that particular zone and you're not on that edge,
05:10I feel like your percentage of something going wrong definitely goes down.
05:15So that's great for Cameron.
05:16And remember, he took a lot of time off last year.
05:19So maybe this was a good approach for him to slowly get into it, control that hype.
05:24There is the 47, his teammate.
05:26But McAdoo said that wasn't his goal.
05:27He wanted to come out firing.
05:28He felt they had improved the bike in the offseason.
05:32But in the races, he didn't feel as comfortable.
05:34And he actually asked to go back to a year ago set up.
05:38And he said that's what's really allowed him to get comfortable again.
05:41And you're seeing it right now.
05:42He is not letting the 34 out of sight.
05:45And it'll be interesting.
05:47Can they push each other up to Mosavik?
05:49Well, they can for sure.
05:52But the biggest thing I feel like for Rider D is to not let that pressure get to him.
05:57You know, when you go back where I was talking about A1 or A2, how Rider D was all over Cameron.
06:04And Cameron just held his line until the last two laps.
06:07This is kind of what Rider D needs to do right here.
06:09Just let the race play out.
06:13As for McAdoo, he's got that whoop entry speed JT talked about.
06:17Got the move.
06:18And the pass.
06:19He was determined.
06:26He was determined.
06:27And I thought that's the move he was going to put on Rider D a couple laps ago.
06:33But Rider D got a great drive through the whoops there.
06:37Will.
06:37Cameron spoke to me earlier, Ricky, about his confidence and looking back on his amateur career
06:45when he was younger and how long it's taken him, he said, to get to the point whereby he
06:49believes he can push through so then he can apply patience and know that he's going to get there.
06:54And that was just fascinating to watch him do that against a rider like Rider D Francisco,
06:59who grew up winning his entire amateur career.
07:02So the belief that Cameron McAdoo now has after all these years is showing through.
07:08Thanks, Will.
07:09And, yeah, absolutely.
07:10Let's see if he can go for a second.
07:12At bottom box, you're watching Kitchen battling Yoder.
07:16That is for sixth.
07:17Club of X-Riders doing well again.
07:19Boland fifth, Yoder sixth.
07:21But here comes Kitchen.
07:25Man, it's tough for Kitchen.
07:26I mean, he's looking really good right now.
07:30He's rolling, set some good lap times.
07:32He was the fastest guy on the track two laps ago.
07:36Thing is, you use up so much energy early on in these races when you're trying to fight,
07:42fight your way back, coming from behind.
07:45This year has just been something I wasn't expecting.
07:50Man, he's had a tough go at it.
07:52And now that's the story as well for Anstey.
07:55Won the opener, but it has been rough since.
07:57He, on that 61, is just trying to go top ten right now.
08:02He's tenth.
08:04Oh, who is that down?
08:05Parker Ross, eighth.
08:06So that's Long and Anstey are both going to pick up a spot.
08:09Now, Kitchen has caught Boland for fifth.
08:15Not easy to do on this racetrack with all these 90-degree corners.
08:20Same little pass right here that he did on Yoder.
08:26JT.
08:27Yeah, Kitchen is making another move there.
08:29But you just, you look back on this championship for Kitchen, and it's almost what could have been.
08:34Because so much of it, you know, you hear in tennis this concept of unforced errors and how punitive they can be.
08:40That's what it feels like for Levi Kitchen.
08:42Those first-turn crashes were all his doing, putting himself in bad spots, falling over, really, when it was no one else's fault but his own.
08:50The riding is not the issue.
08:51He is so incredibly capable.
08:54But if you're going to start outside the top ten each and every week, a guy like Hayden Deegan is going to be out of sight before you even get started.
09:01And that's definitely the story here into the second half of this Bay-to-Bet.
09:05He's got a lot of work to do.
09:07Halfway through, we remind you, do stock up on Monster Energy drinks at Quick Trip.
09:13Kitchen's top five, but that doesn't really tell the story.
09:15He's outside the top ten early.
09:18Yeah, he's rolling, and I agree with everything that JT was saying.
09:26As for Deegan, no trouble with the starts for him or the finishes.
09:30He's just kind of cruising.
09:31I'm going to say, I said it last week.
09:33I mean, these are these type of wins that you really want to enjoy.
09:37Because not always is it going to be this easy,
09:40especially when you get into that 450 class.
09:44But he definitely looks good.
09:46And just where he's been able to improve.
09:49We talked about riding that edge.
09:50This guy doesn't even look like he's close to that.
09:54Putting in some good, smooth laps and really probably learning so much.
09:58Even though it seems like it's easy for him.
10:01You just learn, you know, how the bike can work in certain circumstances.
10:05And we talked about it, too.
10:06Thinking about where you're at compared to lap times on that 450.
10:11You surely have to think that's where his mind is at.
10:14We're watching.
10:15That's interesting to hear that that's probably where the focus is now.
10:18Earlier, we had Deegan on the screen.
10:21Screen 7 drone cam.
10:23That new movie coming soon.
10:24But it's kind of fitting for Deegan.
10:27Revs that bike so hard.
10:28You can hear it.
10:30You can tell when Deegan's coming by.
10:32It just sounds different than everybody else on the track.
10:34JT, what are you seeing?
10:36I'm seeing the same thing you are, Weege.
10:37And, you know, Hayden and I kind of go back and forth.
10:40A little banter on his podium interviews.
10:41And, you know, in offseason, I've kind of wanted to see things from Hayden to show me that he was ready to go race the likes of Eli Tomac and Jet Lawrence when he returns.
10:52But I have to give Hayden a lot of credit.
10:54He has answered the bell on all of the things I wanted to see.
10:57I wanted to see him better in the loops.
10:59Checkmark.
11:00I wanted to see consistency in the start.
11:01Here he is with another hole shot.
11:03So I'm going to give credit where credit is due.
11:06All of the things that I wanted to see from Hayden in 2026, he's here.
11:09He has arrived, and I think he's ready to take the step.
11:12Yeah, like it or not, you cannot deny how he really steps up and makes it happen 98% of the time.
11:23And how about this charge from the kitchen?
11:25This guy is rolling again, looking at timing and scoring.
11:29Fastest guy on the track last lap, 58.2.
11:33And going by DeFrancisco, I don't think we expected to see this.
11:37Ryder, the third, was under pressure from McAdoo, but has now drifted back.
11:42Kitchen getting him as well.
11:43So that will push Ryder back to fifth.
11:46Really strong Ryder.
11:48And he can take this momentum and build from that.
11:52Because really, I believe at this stage and how the season has gone, it should just be all about wins.
11:59I mean, the championship is going to be a long shot at this stage.
12:04So go out there and win and show us who you really are.
12:09Shout out to the second place Ryder, Michael Moseman.
12:12Look, dealing with Deegan is tough for anyone, but it has still been a solid season for him.
12:16And if it ends like this, Moseman will reclaim second in championship points.
12:22Veteran out of Northern California, who we talked about many times, had a retirement party, thought his career was over.
12:31Boy, has he ever returned and better than ever.
12:33And more building blocks for the 23, Will.
12:39And we've talked about this before, Jason, but how different is Michael Moseman from so many other riders in the paddock?
12:46He's just fascinating.
12:47I got to have a really good chat with him a week or so ago.
12:50And he was telling me that most of his friend group, which he said are not moto guys, they're not riders.
12:56He said they're kind of like friends from church, family friends with him and his wife.
12:59He said, don't really know what he does.
13:01And then the cat got let out of the bag because his wife was at a watch party.
13:06They were at their hometown there and they were watching Michael race.
13:09And then all his friends were like, oh, we had no idea that you did this at this level.
13:15And now the pass gets made them.
13:18So just fascinating, just very different.
13:20His wife is a lawyer.
13:21It's just not what you normally see.
13:22He's a very interesting character.
13:24Thanks, Will.
13:24Oh, Kitchen hooked up.
13:27And McInerney didn't get that double.
13:28And I cannot believe the 47 has come all the way back for a podium spot.
13:32Yeah, the door opened up and the chef walked right on in there.
13:36Uses up all the, pretty much all the track.
13:39Leaves just one thin line at the top of the berm there for McAdoo to get around.
13:45Showing his teammate a little grace.
13:47And this has been a heck of a comeback.
13:49And, again, we talk about surprises and what surprises you for Sir Riders.
13:53This isn't a surprise because we do know how talented that the 47 is.
13:58And he is more than capable of rides like this.
14:02And it's great.
14:03It's really great to see him come from behind like this.
14:07He might be more than capable of getting to second.
14:09Oh, yeah.
14:09And the mind starts to wander to next week.
14:13Kitchen's home race in Seattle.
14:15And, again, that will be the last race before 250 East begins in Arlington outside of Dallas.
14:21Can he deliver for the home fans next week with riding like this?
14:25Maybe.
14:26And then he's catching up quickly.
14:28Yeah, again, fastest man on the track.
14:30The last lap.
14:33JT.
14:35And just watching Kitchen, trying to figure out where he's making up so much time.
14:37And, Ricky, are you noticing how quick he is in the mid part of the turn?
14:41Like, he's riding so fast through the mid part as he goes to make the pass here.
14:46And just like that, he's in the second.
14:48Ah, he's in the zone right now.
14:50He is so focused.
14:52Look at him scrubbing that finish line.
14:53But, yeah, he's throwing a lot of center speed through the corners.
14:57JT, another area, too.
14:58He's been rock solid as the whoops.
15:00Looks like he's going a little bit more to the right-hand side compared to the guys.
15:0613th, the lap one.
15:07Just second for Kitchen.
15:10But, oh, by the way, this guy is on a cruise ride.
15:13Hayden Deegan out front with a little over a minute and a lot to go.
15:18You can see the ruts right there going through that rhythm lane.
15:24Love the options.
15:27Track changed quite a bit from earlier.
15:29It has, but, again, I'll go back to what I said earlier, is I feel like this track has held moisture a bit more than what it has in the past.
15:37Uh-oh, look, we've got the challenge for the final podium spot.
15:41McAdoo and Mosevin could be a 2-3 for the pro circuit team again.
15:47And then we're getting into the lappers as well, so they could possibly play a role.
15:53You're camping McAdoo.
15:55Keep charging right here.
15:57Watch McAdoo.
15:58If he's going to be able to make a move by the 23, keep your eye on the whoops section.
16:02He's going to have to be closer than he is right now, so maybe it'll be next lap.
16:05Stay right here.
16:08Let's see what happens.
16:10Oh, he's right to that right side.
16:12Here it comes.
16:15Got it.
16:18You saw that coming?
16:19Yeah, I saw it coming just because he's had really good whoop entry speed all day long.
16:26And there it goes.
16:28Now he sets himself up on the right.
16:29Is that just to get to the inside, or is he actually, is that the line he wants?
16:33Yeah, I think it's the line he wants.
16:35I mean, as crazy as it sounds, there's, like, certain areas of the whoops where they're a little bit smoother than others,
16:42maybe not as steep, especially on the entry.
16:45But Cameron's always had really good speed through the whoops as well.
16:49So a great pass late in the race like this.
16:52Last lap.
16:54And here's what that unlocks our seat.
16:55If he can hold on for this podium, Moe's going to fight him for it.
16:59McAdoo will have 26 career podiums.
17:01He'd be in the tie for fourth all time in 250 Supercross career podiums.
17:07That is incredible.
17:08Yeah.
17:08Especially when you're, you know, like JT was talking about, you know, how his amateur career, I mean, he really wasn't a guy.
17:15Not at all.
17:15We talked about it out there.
17:17And, man, he just plugged away and got some good breaks.
17:21Shout-out to old Tony Alessi who picked him up on the Moto Concepts team late in his amateur career.
17:27They saw something in him.
17:28And he has been improving ever since.
17:31Really took a step, as we said last week, with Kawasaki.
17:34But, again, the Kawasaki's are going to be 2 and 3 because no one can stop Hayden Deegan in 250 Supercross.
17:42Another dominant ride.
17:45Another win.
17:47Four in a row for Hayden Deegan.
17:52Great ride for Kitchen, 13th to 2nd.
17:56And there's McAdoo with that 26th career podium.
18:00And Mozeman and Di Francisco got to be bummed on that one.
18:08They were in position for it, but the Kawi boys really were bearing down late.
18:13They were.
18:14But the Deegan show rolls off.
18:16Yeah, the Kawi boys, Monster Energy Pro Star, Kawasaki boys, they looked good towards the end of that race.
18:22Their bikes looked good.
18:24Hayden, he's just, he was on another level there, just maintaining his, maintaining.
