00:00These shorter races create a way for them to win if they can get out front.
00:04Second, a guy like Hunter Lawrence who hasn't gotten that first win
00:07but has put himself into good position every single time.
00:11Consistency can be your best friend in these Triple Crowns.
00:14He can win the overall without ever crossing the finish line first.
00:20Yes, the first Triple Crown race in the 450 class last year at Glendale.
00:24Sexton won the overall without actually winning any of the individual races to JT's point.
00:28So it could go many different ways, but for sure they're all gunning for that number one W of Deegan
00:34who has won the last two races, last year's champ, this year's point leader.
00:38It's time for the first of three races in the 250s, Triple Crown.
00:42Let's go.
00:47And Deegan leads into Turn 1.
00:49Max Follin of the 19 trying to get to the inside.
00:52Deegan in the lead and the crowd responds.
00:53Clutch start.
00:54That was kind of his Achilles heel coming into this season.
00:58And when starts matter the most, he gets it done in this Triple Crown
01:02from the outside of all his competitors.
01:05Oh, mistake by Follin in the rhythm.
01:08Levi Kitschion able to make the move.
01:09The first time we've seen Kitschion actually survive lap one without a crash.
01:14Let's see what he can do on the 47.
01:16One of the guys that has plenty of speed to run with, Hayden Deegan,
01:20and that is the 47 of Levi Kitschion.
01:23He's shown us a lot of speed his whole career, and he has had a rough start.
01:27So I'm glad to see that he's up.
01:30It's going to be fun to see if he's going to be able to reel in the gap of the leader right now.
01:35You mentioned the starts have been maybe the one trouble as a couple other riders have gone down here.
01:39Is that Anstey?
01:39Yes.
01:40Early season leader, and it is starting to come undone here for him.
01:46Let's see what happened.
01:48Anstey.
01:49What was that?
01:50His jersey's come untucked here.
01:51Right after the whoops section, I believe.
01:54You can see at the top of your screen, number 61 right there,
01:56he's trying to thread the needle between...
01:59Oh!
01:59Oh, it's Thurry.
02:01Yeah, between Thurry...
02:03Thurry cut down.
02:05And Crockett Myers, and he just ran out of space.
02:08As for Deegan, you mentioned the Achilles heel has been the starts.
02:13They've been inconsistent in Supercross, obviously good so far here.
02:17We asked him about those starts yesterday.
02:21Yeah, I've worked on them.
02:23I mean, shoot, done tons of starts at home, trying to get better at them.
02:28Last week was in the better direction.
02:30We had two good starts in Maine in the heat.
02:33Came out roughly in the top three, top five area, and that's kind of where...
02:37That's like worst case where I want to be.
02:39I mean, I feel like the amount of work I'm putting in right now on the starts,
02:42I need to pull the hole shot, so the goal would be to start further.
02:45Well, there you go.
02:46First hole shot of the year for him.
02:48Hey, SMX betting and DFS gaming is back for 2026.
02:52New sportsbook bonuses and prop markets are live right now.
02:56Scan the flow code on the screen.
02:58Or go to nxtbets.com slash playsmx and see what's available in your area and claim bonus offers.
03:05Always play responsibly.
03:07And remember, every race is another chance to win big with Supermotocross.
03:11It's in the back track side with JT.
03:13Thanks, Jason.
03:14And when it comes to Hayden Deegan, how Ricky touched on, one of the things that's kind of been a bugger move for him is the start.
03:19The consistency of the start.
03:21And that was one of the things that everybody was looking for him to clean up this season.
03:26And through three rounds, the first round, everybody was like, oh, man, I'm not seeing what I was looking for in this final 250 Western Division campaign.
03:34But ever since then, he really has looked the part.
03:37He has dominated.
03:38He's been able to overcome bad starts all on Anaheim 2.
03:42And everybody who has asked, is he ready to make the jump to the 450 class and become one of the contenders right away,
03:49are starting to run out of things to ask of Hayden Deegan to not give him the nod.
03:54100% JT.
03:56I want you guys to watch Hayden Deegan and just how fast his corner speed is.
04:00He made a post on his Instagram this week about how he owned the corners.
04:04It's back in his rookie season.
04:06And I'm watching him here today.
04:07And, man, he just really trusts that machine.
04:10He leans the bike over early, really pushes the bike, sits down right there, pushes the bike into the corner,
04:17carries a ton of corner speed.
04:22Perfect opportunity for Levi Kitchen there to kind of latch on.
04:27And Hayden's pace is just unmatched right now early.
04:30This track is primo.
04:32The SMX track crew have done a great job.
04:34They threw some sand down in on this turn, kind of mixed it in.
04:37And there is some grit tonight.
04:41Lead up to over two and a half seconds.
04:44Yeah, a lot of the riders are surprised to see that sand yesterday.
04:47They said it actually makes it easier to do track maintenance.
04:50They soften the dirt up a little bit, a little easier to work with.
04:53Coming to a football stadium here.
04:56This track is very fast here tonight.
05:04Long straights.
05:06So, these guys have a lot of mile per hour going through these rhythm sections.
05:11Kitchen still second.
05:13His teammate on the monster pro circuit, Kawasaki McAdoo is third.
05:16Remember, all three races will count toward one overall finish.
05:21Then it's Bozeman, second in points, is fourth.
05:26It's a lap rider there.
05:27And Schlosser, I believe he was down in that pileup earlier with Anstey and Thurie.
05:32There is McAdoo in third.
05:34Yeah, it's important.
05:35I mean, every race is important here in these triple crowns, on this triple crown format.
05:39But especially if you can get a good run the first two races, then it kind of takes the pressure off for that final race.
05:47Because you can go there, you have a little bit of insurance, and you can just maintain.
05:51This is a great run for not only Hayden, but the Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki boys.
05:56Will, checking out the second place rider in points.
05:59That's Bozeman.
06:00What's happening with the 23?
06:01Well, if we're talking to somebody who can rely on consistency tonight, Michael Moseman's season's been looking that way.
06:09And it's only been getting better since he's had podiums there in the last two rounds.
06:13Talking to him earlier on today, he's just super calm.
06:17We know what he's like as a personality.
06:18He's a real thinker.
06:19We've talked about it a lot.
06:20He kind of, he works his way through things very methodically.
06:23And he's just mentally in a very good place to get that done.
06:26He doesn't seem, you know, at all rustled by the whole thing.
06:29And he's just, he just told me that, that it's experience, that it's maturity, that it's all the pieces coming together that's made the big difference for him.
06:38If you want to see a guy who perhaps could do that three times tonight for the Triple Crown format, it might be this guy here, the 23 and Michael Moseman.
06:45Oh, thanks, Will.
06:46So, he's been good in the regular format races so far this year.
06:51How about the Triple Crown here?
06:52Are Bozeman's thoughts on this format?
06:55They're really good.
06:56And I think, I think they serve, like, they benefit me.
07:01I think three starts, it's all about consistency, being there every race, every lap.
07:07And I think also it's a test of fitness and nutrition.
07:10It's really challenging.
07:11You have very small amounts in between each race.
07:13And so, I think that's something that I have really well and Bozeman's my favorite.
07:21I'm really happy for Michael just in the regard of how consistent he's been and being able to keep that motorcycle on two wheels.
07:30You know, in the past, several years ago when he's been a championship contender, that's always been the challenge that's eluded him is just staying healthy.
07:38His speed was never really an issue, so I'm really stoked for him and how well he's done.
07:44Battle here is Ryder DiFrancisco is going to triple his way past Lux Turner.
07:50And that will put DiFrancisco, who's been on the podium two of the three races this year, up to seventh place.
07:55This guy has done an incredible job as well, Ryder DiFrancisco.
08:03Some great, consistent rides, two podiums already this year.
08:07And I just think, like, him being able to bulk up and working hard in the offseason has given him the strength to really muscle the bike around a bit more.
08:18And that's complemented his rider, his riding all season long.
08:23Well, it says a lot that last week he was in fourth behind McAdoo, and he said, I was pretty confident that if I just stayed there, I could grind him down.
08:30Right, and that's what he did for the most part.
08:33And that's a lot of confidence in your fitness to know that's going to work in your favor.
08:36Yeah, and he never really rode over his limit, and he just was persistent.
08:42And he stayed there, and McAdoo slipped up, and boom, he took advantage of the situation and got himself another podium.
08:50But when I watch him, it doesn't look like he's on the edge.
08:53He looks in control and very smooth, and that's great to see.
08:57But the start didn't end this time in seventh.
09:00Carson Mumford really been improving as of late.
09:02It was very fast last week coming up from a first-turn crash.
09:05He's up ahead in sixth in the AEO KTM.
09:09And then he got the teammates, Turner, who we mentioned on the 43, Parker Ross.
09:13That's the Toyota Redlands Bar-X Yamaha.
09:15And I love this ride for Lux Turner and Parker Ross because they can run up front, and they get that feel of what it's like, JT.
09:24And I feel like as they're able to do that, even if it's just for 10 minutes plus one lap, that'll give them the confidence and the know-how to keep doing those kind of rides.
09:34I agree, Ricky.
09:34And for Lux Turner, he's recovering right from our eyes.
09:37He got injured in Australia during the offseason and really wasn't even expected to be racing this early.
09:44He's going to lose a spot here, but he's nowhere near 100%.
09:47And you ask people that are very close to him, they say, watch out for him.
09:51And we swing back to the Western Division late in April and May.
09:55You're going to see a different Lux Turner when he's back to 100%.
09:58You're seeing him start to fall off.
10:00But this is just the signs of that recovery.
10:03And once he gets all the way healthy, look out.
10:05Hey, similar story, JT, with the 60.
10:08That's the Club of X, Yamaha of Yoder, who hurt his knee right before the season.
10:12But he has been super fast at pretty much every round, and he's going quick right now, putting the pressure on Ross.
10:21Will, what do you think in there on Yoder?
10:23He's been riding very well.
10:25He has, and progress has been made with that injury, that ACL and meniscus that he has that's damaged there.
10:30And I was told by Chad Reed, who trains him at Club MX, that he did get a full week of training in for the first time yet this season, this week.
10:38He did have a bit of treatment.
10:40He had injections in his knee to help with the swelling, so that's helped a lot.
10:43And they're getting it back to a regular program now.
10:45Well, you heard Will talking there about these guys at Club MX working with Chad Reed.
10:51And I just feel with all the knowledge that Chad Reed has, I mean, as accomplished as he is, how could it not help these riders?
10:59And what's great is how they're able to learn from Chad, and they're making it work for them.
11:04They're taking advantage of that opportunity.
11:07And I'd love to see the progression with Hunter Yoder as well as Max Bolin.
11:12As we check in with digging here, it's funny to hear the progression.
11:14So Chad said he's telling them, you know, you just want to get a little better every week.
11:17You don't have to be disappointed if you don't win.
11:19And even Chad joked, it's kind of crazy to hear me say something like that.
11:23Right.
11:23Because for Chad, wins were the only goal.
11:26Yeah.
11:26But for these guys, it's definitely progress compared to where they've been before.
11:30Here's Deegan, white flag.
11:32Happy anniversary to Deegan, made his pro debut in this building back in 2023.
11:38A bit of a surprise entry was expected to race SMX next.
11:41Instead, turned pro for 250 East and got fourth in his debut.
11:46And it was off to the races after that.
11:48Really, it has been, yeah.
11:49Yeah, it's really hard to explain just the difficulties of being able to do that.
11:54You're thrown into the hornet's nest.
11:55It was never in the plan.
11:57And then he's put in that situation and he delivers.
12:01And really from that point on, he's done a great job.
12:07Brent Duffy, the mechanic, all come through there.
12:10They're pretty used to this scenario.
12:12Yes, lots of winning and really very few low points at all.
12:17In the beginning of his fourth pro season, Hayden Deegan wins.
12:20Race one in Houston.
12:23Chichen finally gets through a first turn without a crash.
12:27Will take second.
12:28And McAdoo looking to make it to Kawasaki's on the podium of the three spots early in the night.
12:36Thank you, Mike.
12:39Thanks, Mike.
