00:00I'll start with Simon.
00:02Are you ready?
00:04Congratulations.
00:06Manchester United played Everton earlier this season.
00:10Everton had the man set off.
00:12Manchester United couldn't break them down.
00:15What was it that pleased you about the way that the team kept going
00:21and kept creating opportunities to break Tottenham down,
00:25get the second goal and extend this winning goal?
00:28Yeah, it's a tricky one, Tottenham.
00:31We've seen all sorts of different things happening from playing against
00:34ten men over the years.
00:36The first goal is normally vital to get ahead,
00:42but I think it's just encouraging the expression and the attacking play
00:48and not so much the enjoyment where you can do what you want.
00:51It's playground kind of flicks and tricks,
00:54but more playing with a purpose, but really the confidence.
00:57As you know, the first goal ends up coming from a really well-worked corner.
01:02There's different ways to get that goal,
01:04but the boys pulled it off really well.
01:08Credit to Johnny and Keiter who kind of put that together
01:11and worked with the boys over the few days of having an idea.
01:16There's different ways you can break teams down,
01:18but fortunately for us today we managed to pull it off.
01:21Dan?
01:22Michael, in terms of Bruno Fernandes,
01:25a job for him, but just really something I've done for a few weeks for him,
01:29is that saying he could be one of, if not, the most important player in the league right now?
01:34Yeah, quite possibly. I think Bruno's level of performance over quite a long period of time now,
01:39he's been so consistent.
01:41He's always in and around big moments, you know,
01:46and he kind of got his fingerprints on it most of the time.
01:49He just cares so much, Bruno, you can see that he cares so much about the club
01:55and wanting the club to do well, the team to do well.
01:58He can play so many different positions,
02:01he ended up playing off the left today and got his goal at the end from playing off the left.
02:05He just got them quality and the big moments to that composure
02:11and can make a difference for us.
02:13And it's nothing new, hopefully it continues.
02:15I'm sure he'll have big moments between now and the end of the season as well.
02:19And it's the first time the team have won four Premier League wins in a low since February 2024.
02:24Just in this run, what's pleased you the most in such a short space of time since you're in the back?
02:29Yeah, I think the connection with everyone probably is as plain as anything.
02:35We all know that what goes on the pitch is ultimately really important,
02:39but the results and performances.
02:41But I think the feeling, the emotion, the connection with players, the staff,
02:47with the coaches, with the supporters, it feels good, pulling in it.
02:52We've had to win games in different ways over the recent weeks
02:55and show that spirit.
02:57So seeing the stadium in that way and everyone leaving in such a good place,
03:03that gives me a lot of satisfaction as much as the type of football and the tactical and technical side.
03:11We come here to look forward to some excitement and to go on happy is a good place.
03:19Congratulations.
03:20You mentioned winning in different ways.
03:22I mean, this side, as we touched on the run,
03:25is it a bit easier than you thought?
03:27All the players have just been back,
03:29because United have got more points now than they had all of last season.
03:32And that really has been since you've come in.
03:35I don't know what you've changed.
03:36Is it one thing you've changed?
03:39I don't know.
03:41It's difficult to say because I wasn't here before.
03:44So in terms of changing, I think we just come in with our beliefs
03:48and how we want to see things, principles and asking the players to do certain things
03:55and behave in a certain way.
03:57It's difficult to comment in terms of what's changed.
04:00I think, as I said, I'm pleased with the buying, the connection
04:06and everyone's invested in it.
04:08I think that goes a long way.
04:09I think tactics and certain times, you know, the game can flow in different ways
04:13and you can look very different, good or bad.
04:15But I think being in a real good emotional place helps you.
04:20Again, that proved to be the case.
04:22It was different today.
04:23We had to manage the game, control the game and show patience and good quality.
04:27But there's different ways to do it.
04:30But certainly, you know, the four games that we've had have all slightly looked different.
04:35But we're not getting carried away.
04:36I'm not sitting here thinking, everything's great, we've cracked it.
04:40You know, there's a lot of work to do, so I'm fully aware of that.
04:43Samuel?
04:44Hi, Michael.
04:45When they did last win four games on the spin, Covey did some take-offs,
04:49the goal awards and what have you.
04:51Do you feel he's now getting back to the level of those performances in that break?
04:55Yeah, there's no doubt Covey's ability, you know, of what he can bring.
05:00I think he's still so young and just be careful about putting all of a sudden so much right
05:06on his shoulders and expecting so much of him.
05:08I think he's still learning the game, you know, because he's kind of had that little,
05:12he's had the big high and then obviously didn't play for a little bit.
05:15It's easy to think he's a lot older and more experienced probably than he is.
05:18But credit to him, you know, he's came right in and found his rhythm of football,
05:23which is not easy after a period of time out.
05:25He's found out physically and mentally and we know he can handle the ball
05:30and hopefully over time, which I'm sure he'll keep improving, you know.
05:34He's got to be patient and not expect too much from him all the time.
05:40Michael, you're very still on the touchline. You don't kind of just manipulate wildly.
05:46Some managers do. Are you having to control yourself?
05:49Because the adrenaline presumably is pumping at that moment.
05:53Depends if we score or not, I suppose.
05:56No, I think it's just managing the moment.
05:59I'm not particularly thinking I need to look a certain way or I'm not into that.
06:03It's not a performance for me. I'm just being myself.
06:08But yeah, surely I think it helps make clear decisions and trying to understand what the game is going on.
06:13There's certainly an emotional side, you know.
06:15I've made myself look a little bit silly with some of the celebrations for certain goals that we've had.
06:21But that's part of football and you've got to enjoy the moments at certain times.
06:25But there's definitely an element of trying to be calm and thoughtful and calculated at the right time as well.
06:32Michael, obviously you've played in the central midfield as well for Man United just on Kobe.
06:38Being dropped back into a Premier League game when you've missed so much football.
06:42How impressive is that? And is there more to come?
06:44Because the inevitable question will be if it carries on that there's still a chance that he's going to make a late run
06:48and get into the England squad.
06:50There's definitely more to come from him and that's just the stage he's at his career.
06:56You'd like to think, you know, he's just starting out really essentially.
06:59He's got so much experience under his belt of big occasions, big games and pressurised situations
07:07that's going to help him develop. Learning the game, you know, and playing next to Cassie and learning off him.
07:14Things that he's probably not even realising he's picking up, just playing next to him.
07:19As well as the other players around him, I think that's just part of his journey to learn and develop.
07:25As I said, I'm really conscious that he's come in, he's played the four games and he's found his rhythm.
07:30Young players, you know, they have times when they're up and then they might have a little dip.
07:36That's not all of a sudden he's good or he's a poor player, he copy is what he is.
07:41Managing that is really important, especially for younger players and understanding that.
07:46So, he's done fantastic at the moment. He's having a really big impact on games
07:51and we'll keep working with him and helping him and try and keep improving him as well as we go.
07:56We'll move on to our pre-webs.
